Seven years later..
"Catherine! Margaret! Time for bed!" Canaan yelled down the stairs as he stood waiting by a door.
The sound of little feet came running up the stairs as two twin girls appeared in front of Canaan. Canaan shook his head and laughed at them, his daughters were beautiful. One of the twins named Catherine was curly brown with stellar blue eyes that looked in wonder and amazement, she always talked and never stopped laughing. His other twin daughter named Margaret had long blonde hair and emerald girl eyes, her sweetness and kindness overtook people's hearts when she talked. They both wore matching blue pendants that hung around their necks.
The twins quickly rushed into their rooms and got into their beds, pulling their covers up to their chins. Canaan walked over and kissed them both on the foreheads.
Margaret looked up at him. "Daddy please tell us a story." She asked.
Canaan laughed at her suggestion. "What would you like to hear my beautiful angels?" He asked.
"The one about you and mommy again." Catherine said in a soft childish voice. "I love that story."
"Baby I have told you that story plenty of times, you must be tired of it by now." Canaan claimed.
"No no daddy, we not tired of it yet!" Margaret laughed loudly.
Canaan smiled down at his beautiful seven year olds, the thought of him and Mariah seven years ago seemed not to long ago. He could not believe that time has flown by so quickly since the birth of Catherine and Margaret, they were growing up so fast.
He pulled up a chair and sat in between the two beds that occupied his daughters.
"Are you ready for the story?" Canaan asked.
"Hurry and tell us daddy!" Margaret pleaded impatiently.
"You are becoming impatient like your mother!" Canaan laughed as Margaret smiled then turned to Catherine. "Don't worry Catherine, you are just like me in every way." Catherine giggles at his statement.
"So.." Canaan said as he started the story. "I was walking home one day from school when suddenly a demon attacked me, demanding something of me to bring back to his master, but suddenly a beautiful angel appeared, the angel I always saw in my dreams..."
Outside the room, Mariah stood there listening to the retelling of Canaan and her life. Smiling, she looked up toward Heaven.
"Thank you God." She said before turning her head back to the door to listen Canaan finish the story of how love can always find away...
