Summary:

Uraraka gives him a smug smile. "You do have a favourite student, and I know who it is. It's Bakugou Katsuki."

"He's not a bad kid behind all those walls he's built," Kirishima says.

"Indeed," Tenya says, taking a sip of his coffee. "You just have to know how to handle him."

The conversation is ongoing when Tenya enters the staff room, helping himself to the pot of coffee as he listens to the comforting chatter of his coworkers.

"Favourite student…" Asui puts her finger to her chin in thought. "It's a tough call between Yaoyoruzu and Kendo."

"They're certainly among the best students," Tokoyami says. "But that doesn't necessarily mean they are your favourite."

"I like that Tetsutetsu kid!" Kirishima says with enthusiasm. Ashido, who is sitting next to him, leans away and presses a hand to her ear as if to protect a ruptured eardrum.

"We know," she says. Her eyes land on Tenya. "What about you, Iida? Who's your favourite student?"

Uraraka snorts as Tenya pours half a teaspoon of sugar into his cup. "I'm sure Iida will say something like 'it is inappropriate to hold preferences for ones pupils, it is our duty to guide them on to the next phase of their lives, giving each one the same amount of care and attention to ensure success.'" She pushes invisible glasses up her nose. It is, by all accounts, quite an accurate portrayal of Tenya.

"Damn, Iida," Ashido says. "You just got read for filth."

Tenya does not know what this means. "Uraraka-san is right," he says. "Even if you try to ensure you treat your favoured student no differently, it is bound to seep into your interactions with them and other students."

Uraraka gives him a smug smile. "You do have a favourite student, and I know who it is."

"Who?" Ashido asks, leaning forward. Tenya is also curious to know.

"Bakugou Katsuki," Uraraka says. Ashido pulls back with a dramatic gasp.

"Wait, really? I wouldn't have expected that. I thought Kirishima was the only one who liked him."

"He's not a bad kid behind all those walls he's built," Kirishima says. Kirishima has never met a student he did not like.

"Indeed," Tenya says, taking a sip of his coffee. "You just have to know how to handle him."

What's that saying again? About people in glass houses not throwing stones?

" Ah! Sensei—"

Tenya’s hand comes down hard on the bare skin of Bakugou’s ass. He’s sitting at the desk in his classroom, door locked and blinds pulled down. His legs are spread, feet planted firmly on the ground as Bakugou is splayed across his lap.

“You’re supposed to count, Bakugou,” Tenya says evenly. “Do I need to start over?”

“ Four,” Bakugou says, head drooping. Tenya fists a hand in his hair and drags his head up.
