Summary:

Five times Katsuki helps Shoto, and one time Shoto gets to return the favor.

Rated T for language (because I can't write either of them without language).

“Did you lose power?”

“Hah? No, my power’s fine.”

“Oh. Mine went out suddenly. Strange. I would think our units would be on the same power grid.”

“They fucking are, Shoto, did you trip a fuse?”

Shoto paused, rolling these words over in his head. “A what?”

“A fuse, idiot, you gotta check your fuse box. It’s probably in your pantry, that’s where mine is.”

Shoto felt utterly baffled, but he went to the pantry and checked inside. “All the boxes in here are mine,” he reported.

“Oh, for the love of….I’m coming down.” Katsuki hung up with a click.

Notes:

I had one-shot energy this weekend and wanted to try 5+1, so here we are.

This is VERY UNEDITED and hot off the press, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes/confusion.

Someone knocked on the open doorframe of Shoto’s new apartment. Shoto looked up from his moving box. Katsuki stood in the doorway with a shadow of a grin on his face.

“Hey!” Shoto greeted him. “Wondered if I’d see you today.”

“Yeah, yeah, just came to say welcome to the building or whatever,” Katsuki said. He shoved his hands into his pockets and shuffled inside. The apartment was a small studio with a decent kitchen a larger-than-average bathroom. More than enough for one person. Shoto was aware that Katsuki had a similar apartment two floors up (but had only been inside once, when Katsuki had let him “check the place out” for ten minutes).

“How’s it feel so far?” Katsuki asked.

Shoto stood up. “Good. Busy. Lots of—oh shit!”

In a flash, Katsuki’s hands darted out and caught the object Shoto had dropped—a fragile flower vase.

They froze there, Katsuki holding the vase with the tips of his fingers, Shoto calibrating just how close it had come to shattering on the floor. He carefully took it in his own hands. “Nice catch. Thank you.”

“Gotta work on those reflexes, Halfie.”

Shoto beamed. “Want to give me some pointers?”

“In your dreams!”

Two weeks into living in his new apartment found Shoto in the kitchen, which was turning into one of his favorite places. On his left, a crock pot of beef and vegetables was almost done cooking. Now, following a long afternoon run, he dumped ingredients for a peanut butter protein shake into his blender and turned it on.
