Summary:

It was like he was gaining confidence that he could say anything and Kariage wouldn't be bothered by it, but he was. He was actually very bothered by everything Katsuki told him. Some things were familiar, stuff he had been present for but hearing about the events from Katsuki's point of view made it seem like they were talking about entirely different things.
— There's so much to do, so much to change. Will he be able to do it?

Chapter 1

Bakugou Katsuki.

Katsuki was the kid who everyone seemed to know without having ever met him before. Even before his quirk came in, he was popular. Whether because of his parents being celebrities of the fashion industry, Katsuki's excellence in all things academic, or how athletic he was for a child. He was the one that other kids both loved and hated. It was the same thing with their teachers and other adults. A lot of people would call Katsuki cocky, saying that he had a big ego that only grew after getting his quirk. Had he not known Katsuki since they were four, he might've thought the same.

However since he did know him since they were kids, he knew that Katsuki may go around saying how he's the best, but actually thought the opposite.

He only found out about that midway through their first year of Middle School when he had left his notebook back in the classroom and ended up going back at the end of the day for it. Kariage barged into the room assuming that there wouldn't be anyone else there, only to freeze in shock at seeing Katsuki at his desk silently crying. It took a while, with a lot of threats, explosions, and school supplies thrown before Katsuki ended up blurting out why he was crying.

It was the first time he saw Katsuki genuinely cry, not just tear up because of allergies, skinned knees as a kid, or because the slap to the back of his head from his mother was harder than usual.

Katsuki confided in him at that moment, and Kariage will never forget that conversation. It was what helped him realize that he was honestly attached to Katsuki, and saw him as his best friend. The thing is, Katsuki admitted to him that he was sick and tired of people pretending around him. That no one ever really means anything they say, and that none of them give a shit about him besides how he can be useful to them. Overall a conversation that he never expected to have, especially not with Katsuki of all people. Despite how standoffish he was about the whole thing, after that Katsuki started talking to him about more personal stuff. It was always out of the blue too, like he was purposely trying to startle him. It's a good thing Kariage had been practicing looking unbothered since he was a kid. Bad news is Katsuki's known him since they were kids, and he knew how to see past Kariage's mask.

The more conversations they had, the more Katsuki let slip.

It wasn't always the same thing either, Katsuki would talk about himself, his quirk, then the other kids at school, their teachers, random people he met while running errands, excetera.

The conversations involving his parents, Deku, and himself were the most concerning.

Especially when he started to go into detail about what goes on in his household, when his parents are actually home. Never in a million years would Kariage have expected to hear about that sort of thing from Katsuki. For some reason talking about what he goes through at home seemed to embarrass Katsuki. It's why he eventually shared a few details of his own home life, never going into too much detail, but enough that Katsuki could see that he wasn't alone.
