Katsuki Bakugou, the hotheaded and loud boy in class 1A. In all honesty, it was rather rare to see the blond calm.

But what if all the arrogance and aggressiveness was actually just a form of coping?

No one would look too deep into Katsuki's behaviour. No one. Except one person.

Izuku Midoriya.

𝕴t was March 16th, when Katsuki's life took a whole 180. He despised that day with all he had, a pitiful feeling of his stomach dropping at the mention of this date ─ even just the month, day, anything. The number sixteen, or three as for march. He truly hated everything which could be in the tiniest bit related to this date.

His hatred towards these numbers was intense. However, it wasn't only hatred that he felt. Every single time the memories came back, threathening to take over his mind like a storm cloud, his emotions were going crazy.

   Not in a good way.

When he lost himself in the depths of his mind while he reminded himself of what happened, he was disgusted.

What really was that disgust? The disgust which Katsuki felt was a tempestuous, unbearable loathe, sorrow even. Rapid and negative emotions he held toward this entire situation.

   In conclusion, Bakugou was disgusted.

With himself, for letting that happen.

With the people that did that disgusting thing.

With his own mother for not caring.

At this point, Mitsuki didn't care about her son at all ─ well, unless he got in trouble. If he did, then he had to face the consequences. But other than that, she didn't pay attention to Katsuki. Eventually, when she had a good day, she would ask if he's fine ─ not expecting a response other than 'yes'.

The woman would always find a way to put Bakugou down in a harsh way, either denying his feelings or invalidating them. Don't get him wrong ─ he was never the one to ask for affection, but the thought of his own parental figure not bothering to ─ being fair ─ give a fuck about his actual well-being.

She has always blamed everything on her son, 'The brat was praised his entire life, of course he feels superior. That's why there must be someone like me to put him in his place' ─ she says, brushing it off like it's something that happens on a daily basic.

And people believed her. And those who didn't, hadn't had the courage to speak up, they thought it would be for the best if they ignore it. No need to get involved, it's not their business. Just smile and walk past it, like it never happened in the first place.

Little did they know how much Mitsuki's behaviour affected the younger male. No matter the amount of pain she caused to her son, he still wished to own a normal mother-son relationship. He craved the presence of a mother, not just a person who gave birth to him.

For any minor inconvenience she would yell, judge, hit, starve, choke.. and the list goes on. However, Katsuki never said anything. Over time, he got more and more used to this kind of treatment. His mind was rotten, thoughts endless and almost never positive.

"If you hadn't been so damn weak,"

Those words have been engraved into his mind for as long as he can remember. Not only since the Kamino incident, but any time anything bad happened.

What was the reason to keep going. It's not like anyone would care if he died. Would they?

It didn't feel like they did. Why would they care? He's nothing special. Just another childish teenager hoping to be something more.

it's just a part of the plan: to shove him down and show him how pathetic he actually is.

Bakugou took a step forward, his feet hanging over the edge of the roof.

   What if he jumps?

𝔇𝔬 𝔦𝔱.

   If he finally died?

ℑ𝔱 𝔴𝔦𝔩𝔩 𝔧𝔲𝔰𝔱 𝔪𝔞𝔨𝔢 𝔱𝔥𝔢𝔪 𝔥𝔞𝔭𝔭𝔶.

   He took a step back.

𝔍𝔲𝔪𝔭.

They care. He's probably being overdramatic.

𝔇𝔢𝔣𝔦𝔫𝔦𝔱𝔢𝔩𝔶 𝔫𝔬𝔱.

His hands clenched into fists. Bakugou shook his head and inhaled, deciding to step forward. The blonde blinked blankly, already making up scenarios of what-ifs in his mind.

His arms relaxed. Only one more step.

And he would be free.

Only one more step and all the uncertainity would be gone. No more backing out.

A masculine, yet strained voice calling from below him formed into a short "Hey Kacchan!"
