Warnings: Graphic Violence, Swearing
Wow! Okay been longer than expected. Apologies for that, this chapter was a doozy.
Please note this chapter contains a lot of graphic violence. It is important to the plot, but I will summarize the chapter at the bottom without any of the graphic outlines.
Also, the word count was over 4000 with my outlines! We're making progress toward longer chapters.
Now sit back, enjoy a nice watermelon tea, and enjoy the ride.

All Luigi could hear in the momentary deafness was the crippling whip of fire.
A burning ember was blown straight at his ear, "Get away from my brother." An immature voice painted with malice demanded.
An irrational fear forced Luigi to swivel behind him, yet eyes covered with a glass of cloudiness forced him to hesitate. The formerly beige wall now had a circle of charred burnt stone, with more paint turning to embers at each second. Luigi, rationally, slapped his hand against the flaming coloration, rubbing out the decimation in a matter of a second.
A chorus of a single child sang tears, sniffles, and a terrified scream in a matter of seconds. Luigi whipped around to see the child, and then saw the young prince that was formerly at his chest now staring at the juvenile with utter fear.
Luigi, shuttering through the now pulsating burns on his hands, scrambled forward and gripped Larry as swiftly as if a gunshot would be thrown into the child's body. Luigi took the body of Larry and surrounded the shivering shell, delicately painting each of the spines' tips with his skin.
The sounds of whimpers from the air below him caused a severe reaction in him. He reached for the body beside him; he was met with the scarlet blood coating his hands as he dragged Ludwig to cover Larry as he stood.
Luigi dug into the pocket of his overalls, grabbing one of the one things that the shy guys never took. A butterfly knife, the case embedded with roses and the blood of its older was then pointed at the attacker, and a shouting voice commanded to be released from Luigi's throat,
"You will not hurt them."
Luigi spits before crouching down and extending his foreword leg. His eyes met the blazing eyes of the attacker.
It was a child.
A child that had such prudent yellow skin, with a soft green head that was matched with small horns encircled with an orange ring. Small black eyes met him, yet all he could see was the courage of complete fear. Eyes shaking, covered with a line of glass.
It was the child he hadn't seen yet -
Bowser Jr.
A blue whip dove straight into Bowser Jr, tumbling him onto the floor, and slapped his shoulders to the attacker. Driving him straight down with a crash, Ludwig stood over him with a knee at his plastron. Flamed colorless eyes met the fellow,
"What the hell do you think you're doing!" Ludwig boomed, digging his pearl talons straight into the yellow skin of the harmed and forcing the shoulder blades back.
A glassy glaze covered the eyes of the younger one as it snarled its teeth into such a horrible display.
"Saving our family."
An ember met the sky hair that dove the injured back onto the floor, setting his hands on the charred flakes to disarm the ignited heat.
Like a predator to prey, Bowser Jr's crippling eyes stung Luigi's body. Falling as if the ground was 1000 meters away, Luigi scuttled back with a single arm raised to hide his face from any carnage.
The yellow beast drove forward, digging his talons into his clavicle and tumbling them outside the room.
The attacker rose his claws to meet the eyebrows of the injured, scratching the eyes in a hideous display. All Luigi could see was the red light dripping down his eyelids, sending flames into the corners of his eyes as he squinted. The claws were relentless, letting no time between each attack as they lowered from eye to cheek.
A cold sensation ran through his neck for a millisecond before it was encased with burning. Bubbling skin slipped off his skin as Luigi cried out, leaning his head back as all that rang in his ears was the sound of his voice. Screams were the melody of the room, and he was the singer.
Luigi dove his hands to try to encase the trapper, edging them back with no luck as the hands met ripped skin and blood with each second. Soon enough, his chest met the same fate as his neck as he stared down the young boy, tears collapsing his ruined cheeks as he could barely see the outline of the boy from the clouding blood.
A song danced in his eardrums. A young line of children, banging against the walls as they attempted to hurriedly escape the mediocre doorway to reach Luigi. Would they inflict the same effect?
An older wizard stood at the doorway, pushing his wand sideways to stop the troops as they attempted to storm the battlefield. Though muddy, Luigi could make a little sense of the outlines.
Ludwig's mouth gaped, his arm outstretched to grab the boundary their leader wouldn't let them leave. Water poured from the eyelids of the young one, and he slapped the door with his palm in an attempt to escape their constructor.
The smallest of the bunch- often found on his orange ball oversized for the smaller specimen- was being held by a pinked sunglassed koopa. Digging his hands into his brother's side, it was clear that the younger was screaming something as he yelled.
And Larry.
The poor boy was in the back, covering himself in his arms like a cocoon in fear. His shoulders rose and dropped in sudden succession, leaving little to be seen as his body rocked.
Thomp. Thomp.
Footsteps.
Loud, thundering footsteps.
A cacophony was released into his ear as he lay on the ground, battered and bloody. A voice finally spoke in his ears, but it sounded...mortified? Hurt?
The claws lessened on his shoulders. Formerly penetrating the muscles that lead across his neck, the fingers only dropped a molecule of blood every other second. A younger voice responded, confused as ever. The weakened voice halted the larger, pleading its case even if Luigi couldn't understand the words. His eardrums hurt too much to care anymore.
Soon enough the burning sensation met his shoulder, sending Luigi into screams. Why did everything hurt- why?
Soon enough the pressure above him lessened completely, shooting off with a talon dragging skin with it. It was swift; voices trailed off as he heard a person scuffle against another. The scuttling soon decreased, becoming only a mere struggle compared to the other.
The children - the children were there.
Their screams rang in his ears as he lay against the sheen rocks, yet he couldn't make out a single one.
A hand cradled his head, leaning the injured skull up with its massive scope. Blood still trickled down his face, yet he could tell the hand wasn't of the children- it was of their father.
King Bowser.
Bowser leaned his body against the wall, commanding another order towards what Luigi presumed was Bowser Jr. A scuffle was held, and the musician child's familiar voice rang in his head,
"I don't know Dad. He just...spiraled. Everyone saw."
That sent a shiver down his spine as he watched blood trickle down his inner eye.
Bowser responded soon afterward, getting up from Luigi's side and commanding Ludwig to take Bowser Jr away. A scuffle of smaller talons was heard, but soon enough the only sound Luigi could hear was of the father's ragged breath.
Another body ran into his, full spirit yet with butterfly delicacy. The body wept, raising and falling as it pressed its smaller hands onto his cheeks. Luigi took the moment to reach up, wiping as much blood from
his eyes as he could.
Larry, shaking with fear, held onto Luigi's cheeks with a death grip. Tears swelled his puffy eyes, and they soon cascaded off his cheeks straight onto Luigi's hands.
An overwhelming sense overtook him, and he gripped Larry's shoulders. Turning him around, he attempted to mutter, "Are you hurt?"
Larry must've heard as he shook his head, yet Luigi scoped out his body for any signs of bleeding possible. None were present other than scrapes on his hands and legs. Luigi glanced up at the larger figure, Larry's father, and questioned, "Do you have bandages to heal him?"
Bowser crouched down, taking the child from Luigi's arms, and placed Larry on his back. "You need to heal." A command- not something up for discussion.
Luigi shook his head, looking up. "Take care of Larry first. He matters more than me. He's your kid, and I'm just a stranger." Luigi spoke, gripping the wall behind him to shift his body upward.
A small body raced past him to stand at Bowser's side. Iggy- the swift one compared to the others- held small bandages and some pain reducers and gave them to Bowser. Leaning down, Bowser dressed Larry's wounds before turning back to Luigi.
"Kamek, heal him."
The command was met with a snarl, slamming a staff into the floor that struggled against Luigi's legs.
"Sire he is a stranger. We have no reason."
Luigi watched as a body turned, the girl of the group, straight to Kamek. Gripping the armholes of his robe, Wendy pushed Kamek up into the wall. "And Junior had no reason to attack Luigi, but he did! Now shut your mouth and do what my dad asked!" Wendy spouted, with one of her rings against the millimeter door holder beside them.
"Kamek. Heal him." Bowser spoke in a rough tone, walking forward to stare down at Kamek.
Begrudgingly, Luigi watched as Kamek turned, standing over his body with staff and emitting a soft green light. Tapping the side of his shoulder- of course, it had to be the burnt one- Kamek had begun hearing him. Ice shot through his shoulder, soft yet sprouting tears from his eyes as he leaned back.
Kamek had done this with each wound before grabbing a small hand cloth from his robe and beginning to wipe the blood from Luigi's face. Kamek's nose was scrunched, and this was one of the few times that he saw Kamek's eyes filled with something other than parental worry or anger.
Rage.
Luigi stared at Kamek, whispering words of apologies as he recoiled with each touch, the familiar burning-to-ice feeling meeting each of his wounds.
"The burns will scar up, but he's fine now," Kamek spoke as he rotated towards Bowser, rising and retracting from Luigi. The nod from Bowser leads Luigi to sigh, staring back at the doorway.
A voice leads in his ears- rough yet softer than the deepest voice of the children. Roy pulled forward, fixing up his sunglasses. Lemmy was at his shoulder with his ball in hand, staring straight into Luigi's soul with worry. Even if it seemed Lemmy was scared, Roy was the one to speak up.
"Junior needs to apologize. Now." Roy spoke roughly, one of the few times Luigi had heard his voice. Lemmy nodded swiftly, glancing over at their father figure with a sense of dismay.
"I agree." Bowser's voice returned, shifting his feet to move closer to Roy and in turn Luigi. He bent down, glancing back at Kamek.
"No." Luigi mustered, yet watched as all the heads whipped to watch the face of Luigi.
"Bowser Jr had a reasonable reaction- he was scared I was hurting Larry. He reacted in that way from fear- I don't blame him for that." Luigi spoke softly, yet the impact sent Lemmy gripping the shell of Roy in disgust.
"Junior had no right! You weren't harming him!" Lemmy spouted, wiping the tears from his eyes as he flicked his multicolored hair.
Luigi shook his head- glancing back at the doorway. A magikoopa dressed in blue met his eyes, the rising of his eyebrows making it clear Kamek was surprised.
"Junior was scared. Not only for Larry but for the entire family. I looked like an enemy- hell, I would do the same if someone attacked my brother. It's familial protection."
Luigi watched as Bowser crouched, placing his hand on Luigi's burnt shoulder only to see him recoil. He adjusted his hand, making it lean up against the bicep of the plumber. "While I agree, Junior went overboard with his attacks. You are- were injured in such a way I'm surprised you are not half-blinded by now."
Luigi chuckled at that, staring up to meet the face of Bowser. "Wouldn't you blind a stranger holding your child?" Bowser sighed at that, yet the corners of his cheeks were upturned most slightly. It made Luigi chuckle, leaning back as he glanced over at the family.
