Holy Mary Joseph on a hotdog I'm so sorry for the absence! Had a hard essay and got caught up in Batman (May or may not become another story??) but we're back! I've tried to return to my love for writing, which has finally returned with my love for essays surprisingly, and now I hope to continue this story regularly.

Finally summer 🫠

I would like to mention: This story has instances of child abuse, arranged marriages, and the argument between kingdom and love. If you are uncomfortable with this PLEASE take care of yourself and do not read. I don't wish for anyone to be uncomfortable or pressured to read.
(Would like to mention this is NOT from Bowser- it is mainly from Kamek. Do I believe Kamek is a bad figure to Bowser in the canon line? Absolutely not. Kamek is a wonderful figure of a father to Bowser especially with his pressure of leading his kingdom, and dealing with Bowser's arguably obsession with Peach. Remember that this story is not following the canon idea to a t- yet is taking multiple stories of Bowser and Luigi and shifting them into another light.)

Again, please take care of yourself, get some water, food, a nice shower, and enjoy. Someone cares for you 🦋

Luigi followed Kamek with light steps, his hands angled into the straps of his overalls as he nervously gathered information from the magikoopa. Luigi was mainly asking about the specifics of this new world- who were the koopas, how did they relate to the world, etc. He was met with a little bit of a reluctant response- it was clear the magikoopa wasn't wishing to share much as they walked near the koopalings.
"So, who are his children?" Luigi asked, placing a hand on the wall and skimming the gritting stone walls against his seemingly bare hands.
Kamek paused as he floated ahead of Luigi, before continuing, "There are eight of them surprisingly, all except one from the same clutch," Luigi seemingly spit out an invisible drink at that sentence. Eight?! He could barely take care of one in his class back in Brooklyn, much less eight of varying sizes as he assumed.
"Bowser Junior, King Bowser's only blood related son, is the youngest of the group. He looks almost entirely like King Bowser, and will be the next king. As such, you will be required to be with me or a soldier when entering a room with the prince. Is that understood?" Luigi nodded at the magikoopa, seemingly surprised that the older koopa managed to seduce a wife with his kingdom. Luigi's face undeniably flushed at that thought.
"Does King Bowser have a wife?" Luigi asked, seemingly unconfident with his words as he proceeded. The magikoopa shifted back, shaking his head as he floated down the corridor. "No. The kingdom of Koopas are attempting to get Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom to wed King Bowser in an attempt for peace and trade." Kamek responded, flicking his wand between his fingers. For some reason, the news brought comfort to Luigi.
"Continuing on from youngest to oldest is Larry. He will be the one with the blue hair, along with an orange wand that he'll throw around at points. I would advise to remove yourself from its area when you can." Luigi stuttered at that comment, imagining a small child throwing a complete tantrum and throwing his wand at Luigi's face. Luigi had a gentle smile though, and that continued as the magikoopa continued with his speech.
They were walking along the corridor as the magikoopa spouted off the names of the children, totaling up to a severe eight of them, not including the mentioned Boom Boom and Pom Pom that were mentioned as invited whenever the children felt bored.  It gave a sense of humanity to the koopas, something that comforted the human as they rivaled against the seemingly infinite corridors of the humongous castle. They were similar to a family on Earth, no matter how far that world was considering the magical properties of this world, yet it still felt...unnerving considering the attitude the magikoopa held with each following word.
It was seemingly obvious that the family were not the ideal citizens within the world. Seemingly filled to the brim with each skim across words, Kamek often shifted the attention to another child or discussion whenever Luigi questioned specifics about the words Kamek used. "Is there a specific reason they all have weapons," a seemingly understandable question considering they were on an airship, arguably a battleship, was brushed off like a water droplet on a leaf. It unnerved Luigi, yet dragged him into this sense of desperation for the conclusion of this mystery.
Luigi shifted, his hairs on end as Kamek settled before an overbearing entrance that almost engulfed the two men. The door was decorated to the brim with a discussion of paint and scribbled out words, bringing a sense of heat to the slightest point on Luigi's chest as he read the argument between the children. A knockoff word of some sort of the English language that surprised Luigi as he read the sentences between the two, seemingly arguing between the relevance of some game of origami and their father's hatred of the seemingly harmless activity.
Kamek appeared to notice Luigi's trance, and his nostrils flared as he consequentially cleared his throat, "Your gaze has been changed to read our language. As long as you stay here, your food will be changed to give one of my potions that will let you decipher our language. You originally were given a shot with the potion, so apologizes if that has any after affects." Kamek spoke clearly, clearly enunciating any of the "you"s for some particular reason.
"Great..." Luigi commented under his breath, bringing his hand to where he perceived the shy guys had entered the needle. It still stung under his skin, sending a chill under his spine over when he thought how he could overlook such a weird gesture.
Kamek cleared his throat once more, taking a more professional tone as he continues, "You will need my permission and my supervision whenever you interact with the royal children. You will not be allowed any weapons nor sharp objects on your person."
"Person?" Luigi commented, and Kamek returned with a chirp(?) of annoyance.
Kamek then stepped forward, pausing as he turned around, "Stay here at the moment." The magikoopa bickered, leaving Luigi to stand in the corridor for a minute of silence.
That silence wasn't kept for very long. Soon enough after Kamek disappeared into the room he returned, and was followed by a hoard of koopa children.
Luigi took the moment to look at each of the children individually, ending up on the one Kamek mentioned was Roy. Having the seemingly common tinted yellow-orange scales, Roy's skin was still a bit darker than most of the other children. Two fangs stuck out of his snout, moving with a chomping sound throughout his words. The thing that particularly struck Luigi was the fact of his purple shell, lined with a clean-cut white line that circled around many of his spikes. Each of his pearl spikes also had a ring of magenta around the edges. The single item to set him from the others was his bright hot-pink glasses, covering his eyes as he walked. A scowl was present on his flat muzzle, with his front teeth clenching the top of his bottom lip between words like if he moved it his teeth would be ripped out of his gums.
Roy was hunched over, bending to talk to the next one. Kamek mentioned they were...Iggy? That's at least what he thought.
Iggy was more lanky than the others, with his bright green hair with a streak of white denoting him against the other koopalings. Luigi laughed as he assumed the koopaling was often called a pineapple due to his green hair fading into his tan-yellow skin. His eyes were covered by black-rimmed glasses, though they were a soft blue that spiraled within. It was quite a beautiful site, yet when he closed his eyes it was apparent that the eyes weren't particularly the best. His shell was lime, similar to his hair, yet was outlined with blue that faded into purple. Iggy was quite excited, seemingly bubbling at the seems as he moved with Roy.
Larry was next, piking his toes with his hand against Ludwig and discussing something that he couldn't hear. Hair similar to Ludwig, Larry's hair spiked in a light blue and teal gradient, with a star of white against the front side of the fur. Larry's skin was similar to the others, yet he was his snout was downturned to produce his two front fangs against the flat surface. Along the side of his face was a blue star, similar to his hair, that was outlined in a light teal. It was obvious that it wasn't born there - rather most likely painted on throughout his day. Along with that was his light blue shell, that was dotted with sharp spikes outlined in a bright white.
Ludwig beside him, much taller than the other koopa, was arguing about something with hair. It made Luigi chuckle as he heard the argument between leaving your hair combed or spiking it up with gel.
Ludwig was a rather "self absorbed gentleman" as Kamek had put it, and it shows with his movements. Showing off a combed off blue hair, Ludwig's snout was quite defined, with sharp changes with his cheeks as he made different sounds. Ludwig's hands, chattering from the wristbands that all except Wendy wore, was fancily moving as he conversed with his brother, his singular overbite tooth brushing the tip of his bottom snout.
Lemmy, an energetic shown kid already as he was balancing on a starred orange ball, featured multicolor hair as he raced behind Ludwig and Larry. Lemmy flashed a multi-colored hair, along with crossed eyes that seemed to partially annoy him. Luigi would have to ask him about it, and assist him if he could. Lemmy's shell was orange, seemingly bigger than many of the others compared to the rest of the groups. Yellow circles surrounded the spikes, with a white circle covering the entire thing. Lemmy was quite small compared to the others, yet his personality seemed to make up for it.
Morton was seemingly arguing with Lemmy, his nose scrunched as he scowled against Morton. Darker than all of the koopalings, Morton's face was partially covered by a large tan star. Four large teeth protruded from his muzzle, harboring a small lisp for longer words. His shell was taken up by a black shirt saying: "The Star Child", which was what Lemmy and Morton appeared to be arguing about. With watchful grey eyes, it appeared as if the kid was taller than many of the others. It made him look older, but from the words of Kamek, he was only older than Larry.
The final one was the only girl of the group, laughing as she appeared to be occupied with her phone(?). Wendy, the only one without the spiky wristbands, instead changed for large golden hoops, was the only one with her head being the same color as her torso- a light tan. All others had the familiar green, similar to Iggy's hair if it was a tint darker. Luigi respected the small girl for her sassing, as she already had an attitude as she charged up to Ludwig and demanded he take a picture of her and Luigi. Luigi laughed as her pink bow snapped off her head, landing on her pink shell. Kamek definitely whipped his head around to stare at him after that one.
Now...where was Bowser Jr?
Luigi shook his head as he was soon questioned from each side, receiving the surprising notion as he saw each of the koopalings agreeing and arguing.
Ludwig, claiming to be the leader as he coughed out his neck, appeared to quiet the rest down quickly before asking a question, "Now, who are you?" Ludwig snarked, rolling his talon and pressing it into the stomach of Luigi. Luigi shuttered at the touch, yet cleared his throat as he saw the seeming erupting interest from the rest of the group.
"Im Luigi, Luigi Mario." Luigi spoke clearly, placing his hand out as his brother had suggested when he was training for working at the costumers' houses. Soon enough, Lemmy had jumped off his orange ball and straight into Luigi's flared out hand, receiving a gasp from multiple of the older koopalings.
Lemmy had immediately latched onto Luigi as Luigi, unsurprisingly, thrashed his arm up and down as he realized what had occurred. Once he did, he slowed his movements and retracted his arm to his chest.
"Um...hello? You must be...Lemmy, yes?" Luigi's chest melted as the young koopa rotated immediately and began shaking his head up and down in excitement.
"Yes! Yes! Ohhh a new person! Kamek had mentioned that you were this new guy- and I mean, are you a guy? You don't look like a koopa- I mean, no offense but like you don't look normal, since you're kinda ugly and all that, sucks to suck a lollipop my bro, but you seem like that kinda dude to be into doors of cars you green guy. Green isn't baddddd per say- papa says it fits Iggy, but I mean, does it? I don't think it-"
"Lemmy!" Roy had raced over and grabbed the chest of Lemmy, dragging the small koopaling off Luigi's arm and into his own, "You know the rules." Roy had said in a tough tone, hushing under his breath as he placed his talon against the plastron of the multicolored turtle.
Luigi's arm was now bleeding from the harsh grip the kid had on his skin, but it wasn't deep. It was definitely...blue? It was similar to ice, causing Luigi to wince as he attempted to touch it.
Wendy, looking up from her phone, had grabbed Luigi's arm now and blown something on the wound, "It'll heal, don't crease your eyebrows Kamek." Wendy said, crossing her arms and leaning back to glare at Kamek. With the mention, Luigi and the rest had turned around to face the magikoopa.
Kamek, scrunched up nose held back by two clawed fingers, was currently scrawling at the children's interest in the man, "Everyone, get over here now." His words were as strict as a schoolteacher, his hand clasping against the wand as if it was a loaded gun.
All children were quick, racing to the wall and lining up in an order: Ludwig and Roy beside Lemmy, and going down with two going outside the smaller figures. Kamek was in the middle, stabbing his longer wand into the ground.
Luigi hesitated before backing up, taking a bow as he looked at Kamek. "Sorry." He muttered, shaking like a leaf.
One of the children, Larry, seemed to hesitate before walking over to the dismay of the others. "I'm Larry." He muttered, pushing his hand out as he looked the opposite direction, mainly to Ludwig. Luigi assumed the two had a more heavily coded relationship, even with the five others.
Luigi smiled, bending down to look at him. "I'm- I'm not quite sure if Kamek would allow me to shake your hand, thinking I'm an enemy you know? I'm Luigi, Luigi Mario from Brooklyn!" Luigi placed his hand on his knee as he sat down.
Larry seemed to beam, before slowly walking forward. Ludwig, seeing the motion, following beside Larry just footsteps away. That was the only way Kamek allowed this, Luigi assumed.
Ludwig turned to Kamek, taking his specter in his hand and rotating it like a director's wand. "I got this from here, Kamek. You can return to father." Ludwig retorted, almost demanding the older figure to leave them. That sure took some gut.
Luigi looked back over towards Larry, who was now millimeters from him and flicking his feet back and forth to rock him in excitement. "This is so COOL!" Larry exclaimed before leaping into Luigi's arms, wrapping around as he kicked his feet.
Luigi, taking a minute, nodding as he laughed, taking a minute to hold Larry close before looking over to Ludwig. Ludwig, not seeming comfortable with his little brother in the hands of a complete stranger held his breath as he waited for Larry to lessen.

A fireball shot through the room, aiming straight for Luigi before he dove to cover the two of them.
"Get away from my brother!"
