Scene 22 - Escape from the Sharks
On the same morning before Queen Sandra was taken by Nero, Princess Lucia wakes up by the sunlight.
Before the pink mermaid remembers where she is, Lucia detected another pair of arms.
The princess and the cerulean merman are still in a shark-proof cage.
The pink mermaid was cuddled by Lucien.
The cerulean merman lays down behind her, hugging Lucia.
Lucien kept the pink mermaid warm.
The princess looked up.
Princess Lucia: Lucien?
The cerulean merman gets up slightly.
He opened his eyes, looking down and smiling.
Lucien: Morning, sweetfish...
The pink mermaid was shocked.
She turns her head away quickly to her left.
Lucia gasped.
The cerulean merman touches her right shoulder.
He was affectionate.
Lucien: We're okay, sweetfish. It's just us. I'll make the sharks set us free. Trust me.
The pink mermaid was nervous.
She shook her head.
Princess Lucia: It's not about the sharks.
The princess shifts her eyes to the cerulean merman's vermilion eyes.
Princess Lucia: Lucien, your face is too close to mine. Look, I liked you as a friend. It's just I'm too young to get enchanted by your charm.
Her face became as red as the maraschino cherry.
The cerulean merman made a smile in puzzlement.
Lucien: You thought I was enchanting? The mermaids has more charms than the mermen.
She blinked her eyes once.
The pink mermaid moves her eyes to the left.
The cerulean merman was sympathetic at her.
His right hand held her left cheek.
Lucien: Lucia...
The princess looks at him.
She feels timid after staring at the cerulean merman for a couple seconds.
The pink mermaid breathes hard.
Lucien: Shh, Lucia. I'm not gonna ask you for a kiss.
The princess became baffled.
Lucien: You said it yourself. You were too young to understand such thing as love. I thought I knew what love is. But I guess I'm not there yet. Don't worry. We're going to get out of here. Once the cage is unlocked, we'll swim away together. No looking back.
The pink mermaid made a sad smile at the cerulean merman.
Princess Lucia: Lucien...
Lucien: Lucia...
Before they almost kissed after staring at each other, someone unlocks the shark-proof cage.
They snapped themselves out of their romantic moment.
The princess was astounded at someone above them.
Princess Lucia: What is that sea creature?
The cerulean merman glanced up.
He was gladder to see a familiar face.
The white sea serpent with black patches.
Lucien: Mar! It's been awhile! Your mother is better I hoped!
The sea snake prince was bothered.
He faced the two merpeople.
Prince Mar: There's not much time for being social. Lucien, get the mermaid out of the cage. Your mother and the seal are distracting the sharks.
The cerulean merman holds the pink mermaid in bridal style.
Lucia glances at Lucien.
The cerulean merman was serious.
He swims out of the shark-proof cage with her.
The sea snake prince stares at him.
Prince Mar: Your mother is worried sick of you.
Lucien: Mar, Lucia tried to swim away last night. The sharks took us here in a cage. They might be working for Nero.
The princess covered her mouth.
The sea snake prince was wide-eyed.
Prince Mar: What makes you think of that?
Lucien: One of them almost mentioned Sandra.
The pink mermaid was curious.
Princess Lucia: Who's Sandra?
The sea snake prince was solemn.
Prince Mar: The red mermaid who left the ocean over seventeen years ago. Listen, we'll meet again someday at the palace. Please, swim back home before the sharks catches you both again.
