Chaoter 4: The so called Bunker

".. What happened?" Anna asked.
"My mamma is burnt badly and now she's not waking up.." Said the young kid, starting to cry again.
I walked over to the kid and asked her.
"Hey, are you ok?" Anna jumped up to my shoulder and whispered to me.
"She said that her mom got burnt badly and is not waking up.."
"Ooh... I see..." Arlo replied. He looked down with a sorrowful face. "Well kid, you can come with us!" Spirit exclaimed excitedly.
"Hey! What are you doing with my sister?!"
We heard someone yell from afar. I looked over to see a creature just like me coming upon them. I looked at him with enchanted eyes.
"Wow..." Arlo said under his breath.
"Are you mesmerized by that boy?" Anna asked.

"I-, he-,"
"Hey!" "I said, what were you doing with my sister?" The creature repeated, cutting off Arlo.
"Wait what?" Arlo said, snapping out of it. In front of him was a broad, gorgeous-looking guy. He stepped in front of his sister, distancing us from them.
"What do you want?" He asked.
"We just heard crying and came to check it out," Anna replied. "Who are you?" He asked them.
"Well, I'm Arlo, and the one on my shoulder is Anna," Anna waved. "And the one there is Spirit," She bowed her head in greeting.
"What is your name?" asked Spirit.
"My name is Nikita, and my younger sister is Akita," He replied.
"Well, do you wanna join us?" Arlo asked him.
"Now why would we do that?" He replied.
"Well, you look hurt there. On your paw. Also, your sister's rib cage needs a bandage. "We're going to the underground bunker where there are medkits," Arlo stated.

"Fine, we'll come with you," Nikita replied.
"Alright, it's this way, follow me, everyone," Arlo said. "Hey, um, Nikita?" Arlo asked.
"What!?" he snarled.
"When did you get to the village exactly? I've been living here my entire life and have never seen you," Arlo stated.
"Oh, well my mother, sister, and I moved here just a few days ago actually," He said.
"Wait really?" Arlo replied confused.
"Ya," he stated back.
"That's weird, Dad usually greets the new people that move..." I wondered to myself.
We continued to walk through the ashy ground.
"Oh look right he-." "ow!" Arlo yelled. "Since when did that tree get there? What the heck?" He asked himself out loud. Everyone started laughing. "Now my head hurts," He mumbled to himself.

"Wait, what were you going to say before you ran into that tree?" Anna asked, trying not to laugh.
"I was gonna say we are here," He replied.
"Wait really?? Where is it exactly?"It's completely flat here," Spirit complained.
"Precisely why it's called 'Underground bunker", Arlo complained back.
"Ooh, anyways it is right here," I walked over to a small tree and picked it up.
"See, It's right here," I showed them.
"Now that's smart," Akita said. Akita started to walk up to it to go down, but I stopped her.
"Hey!"Don't touch my sister!" Nikita barged in.
"Why did you stop me?" Akita quietly asked,
"Something isn't right..." Arlo declared.
I looked down the deep dark hole. There was nothing there. Then, right before I said it was safe to go down, I heard a weird growling noise or something.

"Someone's down there!" I whispered to the others. Arlo started quietly going down into the bunker. As he got down deeper the growling grew louder. He got down to the bottom, everything went silent. Then, as he was letting his guard down, " ahhh!" Arlo screamed. Nikita jumped down there immediately.
"Hey, you alright!?" Nikita asked, sounding worried.
"Umm, ya I'm fine," Arlo replied with a sigh.
"Then why did you scream?" He asked. "I- I thought you got hurt," he uttered.
"W-wait he cares about me..? Arlo thought to himself; smiling. "Nope, I'm fine!" Arlo started looking over at him and smiling.
"Then what happened?" Nikita asked.
"Uh, a mouse jumped out at me..." Arlo uttered out of embarrassment. Nikita started bursting out laughing.
"What are they laughing about down there?" Anna commented.
"Well at least we know nothing is wrong," Spirit added. "True," Anna replied.
"You guys can come down! Everything is fine," Arlo yelled. The others started climbing down.
"What the heck!" Spirit exclaimed.
"What?" Anna said.

"I thought you said this was a bunker!"!"Not a whole damn cave!" Spirit exclaimed again.
"Umm, actually I'm just as confused as you are," Arlo commented.
"What do you mean?" Nikita asked.
"I mean I was only in here once when I was young, but I don't remember it being a cave," Arlo stated.
"Weird," Arlo mumbled under his breath.
"Well, the med stuff should be right over here. They all started walking up to the wall of the cave. They came upon a few broken-down wooden shelves.
"What happened to them," Nikita uttered.
"They're just old, really old," Arlo replied. Arlo grabbed some bandages from underneath a wooden desk.
"Here Nikita, you can put these on your sister, and you," Arlo said.

Nikita grabbed the bandages and started rapping them around his sister's rib cage.
"There, that should fix you up ok?" Nikita said. He then wrapped a bit around his ankle. Arlo walked over to the short edge of the cave. He looked down and saw a beautiful little pond with glowing crystals all around.
"Guys come to look at this!" He exclaimed. Others started walking over to Arlo.
"Wow this is beautiful," Anna said.
"Hey I think there's a short staircase over here," Akita announced. The others started to walk over. As they were coming to check out the staircase the ground shook.
"What was that?" Spirit muttered in fear. The ground shook again.
"I think we should get out of here," Nikita said concerned. Akita started trembling, going underneath her brother.

"It will be ok," Nikita whispered to his sister. The ground shook again.
"Anna watch out!" Spirit yelled. A rock fell from the roof of the cave right in front of Anna.
"T-thanks," Anna gasped.
"Ok, we seriously need to get out of here. We need to go back to the entrance," Nikita announced. Everyone started running to the entrance. As they were running back, the ground shook more. More rocks started falling; sharp ones. Then the entrance started collapsing. "Shit!" Nikita yelled.
"What are we gonna do now?" Anna asked. "What about the pond?" Arlo stated.
"What do you mean?"How is the pond gonna help!?" Spirit exclaimed.
"I saw a small entry in the pond. We could swim there! Yeah, it's kind of risky, but I don't think it's that long of a swim. And the current will make it faster." Arlo said.
"Well, it's better than being crushed. Come on guys let's go!" Nikita cried out. They all started running back over to the ledge.

As they were running more rocks started falling. Akita began to fall behind a bit because of her injury. Akita was trying to catch up but her leg got caught in a crack in the ground.
"Brother!" Akita cried. Nikita heard her and looked behind him immediately.
"Akita!" He shouted back. Nikita started running back to her. The ground shook aggressively causing him to trip over himself. He looked up and saw a rock falling straight for her.
"No!" Nikita hollered. He quickly noticed Arlo running towards her from the side. They heard a scream then it went silent. Nikita was shaking, trying to get up as fast as he could. He was trying so hard to make his way over. Everyone else panicked and ran over to the giant rock that fell. Nikita started breaking down. Everyone was in shock. Anna looked around and noticed that Arlo wasn't there.
"Wait where's Arlo?" she questioned out loud.
"He.. um.. he ran towards her..." Nikita muttered out.

"Wait he what!?" Anna exclaimed.
"Why would he do that?!" Spirit questioned.
"I don't know!" Nikita yelled.
"Wait what are you guys all yelling about?" Arlo sputtered out. He coughed up blood while limping over to them. He moved his head to the side where Akita's head poked out.
"Akita!" Nikita exclaimed.
"She's alright, just a little shaken," Arlo muttered.
"Oh thank god!" Nikita exclaimed.
