Chapter 16

Vic's POV

I woke up and Maiah was out of bed already. I walked to the bathroom and opened the door. She was laying there. I ran over to her and there was a note. It read:

Leave her. Or she's dead.

I knew it was Matt I mean come on. Who else would do this? I ran to Maiah and she was still breathing. I started crying. I don't know why but I did. I turned around to see Jaime and Olivia laughing.

"What the hell guys!? Maiah!" I turned around and she had gotten up and was laughing too. I stopped crying and started laughing. I mean I actually fell for it.

"You should've seen your face, dude! This is how Jaime plays." He said still laughing. I ran to Maiah and picked her up.

"I wrote the note." Olivia said still laughing. She stopped laughing and looked worried. She looked straight behind me and Maiah. Jaime stopped too. He mouthed out 'don't move'. I was seriously scared. Jaime mouthed 'run' and they got out of the doorway. I picked up Maiah and ran. I ran to my room and locked the door. I threw her on the bed and covered her with the blankets. I got in next to her. I heard yelling but I didn't pay attention to what they were saying. I just tried to keep Maiah safe. I got on top of we in case there was a bullet or a knife of something, I would protect her from it. She looked at me, tears in her eyes. I wiped them away and started singing to her. She stopped crying and hugged me. She never loosened her grip until she fell asleep. I got a text from Jaime.

Don't leave the room. Maiah's psycho Parents were about to stab you two. Keep safe. Olivia and I have it all under control. Don't worry. Spend quality time with Maiah. Toodles! :)

I quickly woke up Maiah and I showed her the text. She went from tired to mad. She softened up at the end and pulled me closer to her. She kissed me and I kissed back. We did for about 2 minutes when my phone got a text. I sighed and read it.

OMG her dad started slapping me. Owwwwwww. He left Olivia alone. She just stood there yelling at her mom. Well toodaloo! XOXO JAIME! ;)

I smiled at the end and showed Maiah. She laughed too and she kissed me for a second until we heard a loud crash. Oh shit.

I grabbed Maiah's hand and ran down the stairs where a bloody Jaime was laying on the ground. His eyes were closed and he was still breathing. He looked like he was in a lot of pain. He moved slightly every few seconds. We looked to see Olivia punching and kicking her mom and dad. They looked in pain too. Not as much as Jaime, however.

"YOU TWO OUT!" Mike yelled at Maiah's parents. He was holding a water gun that looked A LOT like a real one. They raised their hands and walked out the door. Running as soon as they stepped outside.

"Jaime. Jaime? I'm here baby. Wake up." Olivia said she kissed his bloody forehead, his non bloody lips and cheek before he opened his eyes.

"What happened. Ugh I have a headache." He said. He held his forehead and tensed up a little.

"Should we take him to the hospital?" Olivia asked.

"Nah. I have a better idea. Jaime?" I asked.

"Yeah?" He said looking at me.

"Wanna go watch The Notebook?" His eyes lit up.

"OH MY FUCKING GOD YES!! IM UP!" With that he ran into the living room and sat on the floor and hopped around excitedly. Olivia sat down next to him and wiped a wet washcloth on his face, cleaning the blood off. She leaned in and kissed him before pulling back and holding his hand. Maiah and I cleaned up the mess. We went to watch The Notebook but there was a knock on the door. Maiah went and answered it. She screamed before the door closed. I ran to it and seen Matt making out with her. This son of a bitch.

"Get. Off. Of. Me." Maiah said trying to escape.

"No. Not until you're mine." He said kissing her again. This kid went too far. I ripped him off of her and she ran to me. I held her extremely tight in my arm before Matt approached me.

"It's either she goes out with me, or I show the whole school your embarrassing little secret. What will it be?" He asked with a smile on his face.

"Secret." Maiah said and she looked at me.

"Secret." I said. He looked at us as if we were insane.

"Okay. I'll see you both at lunch tomorrow. Make sure you add a few new ones. Make them... Nice." He said running away. I intertwined Maiah's fingers in mine and we went for a walk to the park.

"I will do anything to stay with you." I said looking at her.

"Same with me." She said. "I'm still nervous. I'm not going to add any new ones. Are you?" She asked. I shook my head. She let out a sigh.

We made it to the park and she pulled me to the swings.

"Hey. This can be our second date." She said.

"Okay." I smiled.

"Sit and swing with me." She said. So I sat down on a swing next to hers. We held hands and swung together.

"Okay so I was at home one day and my mom came in, obviously drunk, and she said "hi" and passed out. I don't know why but that was hilarious." She said. I let out a laugh. She was so beautiful. I'm the luckiest man alive. I've never been happier in my life. I leaned over and kissed her lightly and leaned back, since there were little kids present. She smiled. I pulled a loose strand of hair behind her ear and took her hand again. We walked to a little beach, and I held her hand tight. We walked on the shore for hours. We never left each other. Neither of us want to go swimming so we didn't. I'm glad. Today was officially the best day of my life. I kissed her once before she laid her head on my shoulder.

Maiah's POV.

Best. Day. Ever. I got to spend a day with Vic, we went on a nice date. I've never loved Vic more than I do right now. Not that I didn't love him a lot before, I just mean I am crazy in love, if that makes sense. I love him more than anything else in the world.

We stopped and looked at each other. He pulled me closer to him and I looked into his beautiful brown eyes. He leaned in and kissed me. This is the absolute best day of my life. He

Is the love of my life and no one is going to change that.
