"Lemur." The said man's eyes darted to Alex's face. Her voice was hoarse and barely loud enough. "Shhh. Don't talk. You can tell me about what ever you were gonna say before later okay?" Lemur is expecting Cub to live and Cub is a fighter! "You're gonna be alright."
"Don't... leave me... alone." Alex croaked out, her eyes were filled with fear and pain. "Shhh. Save your strength. I'm not going to leave you alone I promise." This kid... He's so scared that someone's going to leave him... I must find out what happened to him.

The doctors lost her a few times but that's minor compared to losing her completely. They managed to stop the blood that cascaded out from the bloody wound. K-unit and Lemur and their sarge stood there looking at the now peacefully sleeping Cub. Alex was extremely pale, almost as white as the bandaids around her neck. She has to breathe through tubes, monitors were hooked to her to ensure her heart rate is at a normal steady pace.
When Alex opened her eyes, it was like trying to peel apart super glue that stick two piece of material together. The first thing is saw was the bright white ceiling. She squinted a bit but soon her eyes adjusted to the brightness. She felt numb. Numb and cold. Especially near her throat. She could feel something tickling the insides of her nose. She gingerly reached up to feel what it is. The last time something was tickling the inside of her nose was when she was thrown into a tank filled with creepy crawlies. It was, you could say, a form of torture method that is meant to kill considering what was in there. Poisonous spiders, poisonous snakes, red ants, etc. the things that hurts like hell fell on you and those that kills you slowly and surely. She wasn't actually scared of those things, it left her in a lot of pain which you could say left her involuntarily traumatised not by the creepy crawlies but by that particular torture method. Her hand was suddenly grabbed by a big meaty one, stopping her from reaching whatever she was reaching for. She panicked of course. She didn't know who it was and why that person grabbed her. It just ignited lots of traumatic memories. She has been violated in an extremely bad way and it was very severe. She was so glad she had decided she didn't want to have babies so Mrs Jones suggested that she removed her reproductive organs. That wouldn't stop rapists that's for sure, but it would surely stop her from getting pregnant at such a young age. "-ub! Cub! It's alright! It's me!" The blurred and unclear words slowly become clearer to her and she relaxed once she realise who it was. The sergeant.
K-unit and the few other men that have became friends with Cub watched in helplessness as they watched the poor kid trash around to fight away whoever that grabbed him. They watched as the kid's heart rate shot up and went down slowly once he realised who grabbed him.
The sarge was really worried and afraid that the kid would hurt himself in the little struggle to get away from him. He shouldn't have grabbed the kid like that, but that was the only way to stop him from pulling the tubes from his nose and risk going oxygenless. I don't think that's technically a word but you get what I mean. Being deprived of oxygen would be a better one but no one has time to think properly when you've gotta save someone from being DEPRIVED of oxygen. See! I used proper English now! Ha!

Alex was now able to get out and have some fresh air. She slipped out quietly and went to the mess hall. She seem to have forgotten to check the time and the schedule... Oops. In a instant, all the eyes of the soldiers landed on her. Some glared but most of them somehow looked like they respected the kid. Alex looked straight back at those that glared at her, they couldn't stand the look in her eyes seeing as they flinched and looked away. Alex wasn't afraid of them. She walked to the lady standing there serving food. Once she realise who it was and what that kid she was look for was trying to do she stopped her. Alex looked at her slightly confused. "Wait." She ordered. Alex obeyed, not wanting to piss of the lady. She was a middle age lady, with a kid or two, a doting husband, a generally caring family. Alex profiled. Shoot. Bad habit. Stop profiling everybody! Alex mentally reprimanded herself. The lady returned with a bowl of hot porridge. Alex looked her for an explanation as she received the bowl. "Your throat."
"Thank you." Alex said in her barely healed voice, she sounded hoarse and quiet like something was blocking her throat. Which technically is correct, considering the bullet that was removed, leaving a big empty hole. "Shhhh. Don't talk so much! Your throat needs to heal. You can't eat food that require chewing so porridge/congee is the best option. Or soup! Which you're having for dinner!" She declared. Alex cracked a small smile for her which made her smile even wider. She has never seen Alex smile and was happy to see it. It looks good on the kid. She thought. Alex was happy that someone was so caring. But it seems like God doesn't want her to be happy as flashbacks of her nightmares came back. Her friends and family dying because of her and during her nightmares it was always her friends and family regretting ever helping her. Alex nodded her thanks before shuffling to her table. "Aww. Lucky!" Eagle exclaimed when he saw what she is gonna have. Alex spooned the porridge into her mouth. It was hot which soothed her dry, parched throat which is now aching in protest. I only spoke like what? Two words? This is gonna take a while to recover. Alex sighed mentally as she let the liquid slide down her throat. I wonder how Jack would be doing if she was still alive.
