The real power of a man
is in the size of the smile
of the man beside him!
Harry was in the kitchen cooking dinner when Louis arrived home from the office. It was rare that he stayed so late at the office but tonight it was an exception. He had had to take an overseas video call and due to time zones, it had required of Louis to stay a little later. He looked at his watch as he entered the foyer. 7:55 pm.
'Honey,' he called from the foyer, the smell of food greeting him along with Stevie Nicks playing softly around their house. Louis loved coming home!
'In the kitchen,' Harry called back. Louis smiled to himself as he walked into the kitchen and found Harry busy stirring pots and checking the oven, wearing a green apron, his face flushed and curls messy.
'Smells good,' Louis commented. Harry looked over his shoulder and smiled at Louis.
'Welcome home love,' Harry told him. He turned from the pot that he was stirring on the burner, leaned across the kitchen island and pecked Louis' lips. 'Sit,' he ordered and Louis sat. 'How was your day?' he asked him as he poured Louis a glass of chilled wine which Louis took gratefully. He took a sip.
'Ugh stressful. Had an unhappy customer from Brazil who was complaining about some glitch in his software and we were in a video call for what seemed like hours to try and fix the damn problem. In the end it turned out that it wasn't a glitch from our end just like I had been saying all along so it was all sorted. How was your day? And why are you cooking? Where's Judy?'
'I gave her the evening off. Her daughter was visiting her with her gran babies so I told her to go, that I can do dinner tonight.' Louis nodded, taking another sip of the Italian wine Harry had chosen.
'You did well. Judy loves those babies and she deserves a break. What are we eating? It smells like heaven in here. I'm starving.'
'Beef Wellington with roasted rosemary potatoes, glazed onions and asparagus with gravy.'
'Oh God,' Louis whined, 'you just gave me a food orgasm! How did I get so lucky to marry such an amazing man who's good in bed, smart, beautiful, has the most amazing taste in music and knows how to cook? I'm a really lucky man!' Harry chuckled.
'My mum taught me well. And you're not the only lucky man in here.' He leaned over the kitchen island again and pressed his lips to Louis' tasting the wine. 'I snagged myself a pretty handsome, smart, kind and beautiful man myself who knows how to please me in bed, keeps me sated, happy, takes good care of me and loves me so much. So see? Both lucky.' Harry pecked his lips again, turned and opened the oven to check the food. 'Dinner is almost ready. Can you please move into the dining room?' Harry asked him as he closed he oven door again and turned everything off. Louis nodded, slid off the stool, picked up his glass of wine and an empty glass for Harry and took them into the dining room which had two places set up nicely for them. Harry had even lit up candles and Louis had to smile to himself at the thought of how dedicated, romantic and domestic Harry was. He went back to the kitchen to get the bottle of wine.
