I swear I just saw Alice looking. I did see her in that window. I mean how could I miss her ? She's perfect. I need to see her. I mean I guess it's only been a day but I just need to see her smile one more time before I go inside.

I walk up and down the front deck thinking of ways to see her. See her smile. I walk inside and see my dad has left some cookies from his cafe on the bench. Cookies!

I knock on the front door of Alice's house. The door opens and I stare at the beautiful girl standing in front of me.

"Mat?" Alice says looking in to my eyes.

"Uh.. I brought you some cookies." I say trying to act as normal as possible.

"Cookies?"

"Yeah. They're from my dads cafe." This is weird.

"Oh thanks, you..."

she is cut off by her mum who walks in to the entry.

"Everything alright Alice?" Her mum asks.

"Yeah Mat just came to give us some cookies."

"That's very kind of you Mat. You shouldn't have." She says smiling at me.

"That's fine." Ok now it's really weird.

"Would you like to come in and join us for dinner? I mean if you don't have any plans of course." Alice's mum asks me.

"Uh mum his..." Alice try's to say but I cut her off.

"Sure I have no plans tonight." I answer.

"Great I'll set the table." Her mum walks off.

"Really? Dinner?" Alice says laughing.

"Hey my dad won't be home till late so I have nothing to do." I say to Alice as we walk to the lounge room.

"Take a seat. Would you like a drink?" Alice asks me.

"Uh.. I think I'll wait till dinner."

Alice's little sister comes running down the stairs.

"Uh hey who's this?" She asks.

"Caley this is my friend Mat, Mat this is my little sister Caley." Alice says and I look at Caley and smile.

"Ooo Alice you gotta a boyfriend." Alice rolls her eyes and tells her to leave.

Caley walks off laughing and Alice takes a seat next to me.
