Janet's POV

Next Day

Today was an off day so I decided to stay in Atlanta with Gil to see if I can setup a meeting with Halle. I have one more day off until I needed to get to the next city of my tour. So while I'm still in Atlanta, I wanted to at least establish some sort of touch point with Halle.

I'm very nervous about Halle's reaction but I can't focus on the worst case scenarios. I sat in deep meditation last night after the concert and journaled all of my feelings.

Gil walked out of my suite's kitchen with two mugs of tea.

"Thanks Gil." I grabbed the mug and blew before taking a sip. He sat down on the couch next to me.

"Have you heard back from the girls?" I asked. Gil told me he messaged them late last night on Instagram. He asked if they're free for the day.

"Let me check. Halle's page is private so I need to see if she accepted my follow request." I leaned over to watch him check and Halle's page was still private. I grew anxious.

"Do you think they gave us fake info? Why is it taking so long for them to respond?" I asked impatiently.

"Hold on lil mama, I ain't check Ryan's page. Hers is public and she could've responded. It's only 10am Jan. You know people their age don't wake up before noon." He joked. I calmed down a bit and laughed.

"Oooh she responded back. She said they get off work at 2pm and don't have any plans after that." He repeated.

"Okay, see if they would like to grab a late lunch but don't mention me in it." I said.

He nodded and wrote back to Ryan. It didn't take long before his phone was pinged.

"Ryan texted me her number and said they'd have to change but can meet us wherever after 3." He said.

"Okay so where should we go?" I asked.

"Um how about we tell them to meet us here and then we decide where to go?Honestly, I think you should just flat out talk to Halle when they arrive and if they're up for lunch afterwards we'll go somewhere or just get takeout." He said.

"You don't think that's too forward though? To just flat out say 'Hey Halle, I'm Janet Jackson. The mother who abandoned you. Wanna grab food?" I said.

"Don't say it like that smartass but along those lines. Look, the girl hasn't had you in her life for 22 years, let's not waste another minute and rip that bandaid off. She's grown and yeah she may have an emotional reaction but you have to follow her lead." Gil told me.

"What if she wants nothing to do with me at all? I'd be so crushed." I said.

"We won't know until we see her babes."

~~~
It was 3:42 and the girls hadn't arrived yet. Gil asked for an update and they said they're stuck in traffic but will pull up soon. I've been a nervous wreck all afternoon and couldn't sit still.
"Alright, Ryan texted me they're here. I'll meet them outside and bring them up here. You good?" He asked me. Without speaking, I nodded my head. I ran my hands down my pants leg and slowly stood up from sitting. I began pacing the floor to shake my nerves.
Halle's life will forever change finding out about me and though I'm sure she'll be skeptical, I'm willing to go above and beyond for a relationship with her. I'm sure she'll want some type of DNA test if she's hesitant to take my word and I'll happily do it.
Soon I heard a knock at the door and I opened it to be greeted by the girls and Gil.
"Hi girls." I said nervously.
