Janet's POV, Next Day

It's the day of my first New York show and I'm super excited. Of course I love my fans and seeing their energy onstage, but I'm happy that Halle and Ryan are here to spend some time with me.

Me and Halle are still in the early stages of navigating our relationship and hopefully I can learn more about her during this visit. Texts and calls are great but it's nothing like being in the presence of someone you want to know more about.

I woke up early to cook breakfast for the girls and decided to make vegan pancakes and sausages for Halle and omelets for me and Ryan. We'll all have fruit on the side.

I was cracking the eggs when I felt a presence behind me. I turned to see both girls walking my way.

"Good morning girls. Did I wake you up?" I asked.

"Morning." Both girls greeted me.

"And to answer your question, I smelled food so I woke Halle up to see who's cooking." Ryan said. I laughed and pointed towards the island for them to sit.

"You don't have a cook here?" Halle asked me. I smiled and shook my head.

"Nope. I usually order takeout whenever I'm in this apartment but I wanted to cook for y'all this morning." I said.

"I didn't know you can throw down Ms. J. You know I don't eat vegan food, right?" Ryan said. I laughed as Halle smacked her teeth.

"Yes honey I know. We'll eat omelets and Halle has vegan pancakes and sausage." I said. Their eyes lit up.

"Oooh say less. I'm ready!" Halle said. I scrunched up my face in confusion.

"Say less? What does that mean?" I asked. The girls laughed.

"Oh it means like let's go or I'm ready. Basically I'm here for it" Halle explained.

"Oh okay. I'm sure you girls are going to have to teach me more sayings the more I'm with you." I said, fixing all of our plates. I asked the girls to help grab the plates so we can sit down at the kitchen table instead of island.

"The food really does look amazing Ms. J. I'll say the blessing cause my stomach is in my back." Ryan said. I laughed as we bowed our heads while she led us in prayer.

I watched the girls take their first bite and watched their faces turn into happy smiles.

"I've never had vegan pancakes this fluffy before. This is so good JJ." Halle said.

"I'm glad you like them. I was most worried about making your food because it's been so long since I've cooked vegan meals from scratch." I said.

"Well this is amazing and the sausage is good too." She said. Ryan was quiet as she stuffed her face.

"The food alright Ry?" I asked jokingly.

"Mmhmm yes ma'am! I love stuffed omelets." She said between bites. We didn't talk too much as we ate but it was a comfortable silence.

Usually, I'm alone for the first half of show days so it's nice to have the girls around me.

"So what do y'all want to do before we head to the venue? We have a few hours to kill before I need to get to rehearsal." I asked.

We were finished with our food but stayed at the table to let our food digest.

"Since we may not have a lot of time now can we check out some stores?" Halle asked.

"Sure. What kind of stores you like to go to?" I asked them.

"We like Macys, Forever21, H&M & basically anything like that. Sometimes we shop at Nordstrom or Zara if the sales look good." Halle said.
