Charming
Jackson Teller felt the pounding in his heart as he sped down the highway toward Charming. A few hours ago, he was standing in his grandfather's kitchen waiting for his mother to say her goodbye so the Sons could head to Vancouver and hunt down Cameron Heyes, So he could get his 8-month-old son back in his arms. Heyes had taken his son a week ago in revenge because he thought that Gemma had killed his son. Jax wonders if he will ever see his boy again as he was getting further away from Vancouver with every roar of his bike. Chucky had rang him saying his mom had collapsed in the Teller-Marrow lot after giving the club the slip.
Entering the hospital with his club behind him, Jax is told that his mother is okay and that her heart rhythm went haywire after a shock. He knows now that keeping Abel's kidnapping a secret from his Mother was a bad idea as she sure as shit knows now.
"Gemma's awake, She is asking for you Jackson," Tara tells Jax as she pops her head in the Hospital chapel.
Walking into his mother's room with Tara, he is relieved to see her sitting up, a machine measuring every beat of her broken heart. Gemma pins the pair with a look and the couple drop their gaze to the floor. "This is on you too, Doc." Gemma snaps. As Tara turned to leave, Mother and son, Stopped and faced the older women.
"Where is my grandbaby, Jackson?" Jax told his mother everything. That after Stalh had set her up for killing Cameron's son, He had broke into Jax's house, killed Half-sack, who was trying to protect Abel, and tied Tara up in the nursery before kidnapping Abel. Jax told his mother that they had good reason to believe that Cameron had taken Abel to Vancouver and that they were on their way there to find him when she had taken off to Charming.
"Abels not in Vancouver...that phone call I got last night. It triggered all this. it was an Irish girl. Belfast accent, Said she was a friend, Young. She wouldn't give her name." Gemma's eyes glanced at Clay. "I think it was Maureen Ashby's kid."
Jax's eyes darted to Clay as he asked. "Who's Maureen Ashby?"
"Mcgree's old lady. Friend of the MC." Clay told him.
"She told me Abel is in Belfast," Gemma added.
"No! cant be. Jimmy and O'Neill saw Cameron get scooped up as soon as he hit Belfast. He didn't have Abel with him."
"Well, then somebody's full of shit. Suddenly Gemma's monitor starts to bleep rapidly. Jax looked to the door as a nurse walked into the room a scowl on her face. "Out now. She needs her rest." She barked. The two patches walked out of the room, while Tara stayed to help calm the panicking Grandma down.
Jax Head is confused by the new information. "We gotta call McGree," he tells Clay.
"No." Clay turned to face Jax his voice low. "If O'Neil lied to you, means Belfast could be in bed with Jimmy."
"McGee is first nine. You think he would lie."
"I don't know but we got to talk to this girl again. Her Mother Maureen, has a grocery store a block away from the Belfast clubhouse. Jax nods. "Get Chibs to get some Digits for that store, We talk to Maureen's kids and see what she knows."
Clay was about to speak when Tara and the Doctor rounded the hospital corridor. Jax gave Tara a glance before he turned and left to find the number for Maureen Ashby's store.
***********
Jax, Chibs, and Opie gathered in the Hosptial Chapel. It hadn't taken Chibs long to get Ashby Provision's telephone number. Chibs had contacted his young nephew Patric and he reeled the digits off straight away, the young man knowing them off by heart. Jax felt nervous as he dialed the number. He couldn't sit still, pacing the floor as he waited for the call to be answered. Scared that it would be another dead end to find his son. His breath hitched when the sound of a young girl answered with a Belfast accent, not wanting to scare her he asked for Maureen.
