Jax and Clay stood in the small kitchen with the kings looking up at them from their chairs at the table in the middle of the room, Kellen also sat with his face firm and his back ridged. Lilith approached them, Jax couldn't read her face, but he could see a fresh bruise forming on the side of her temple and the cut that had split her eyebrow. He pushed the urge to reach out and caress her face and ask her if she was alright away. He could not care for the girl in front of him he had to stay focused. Lilith hadn't made eye contact with either him or Clay as she searched for weapons.
"Hold your hands up." She asked as she reached for his Ka-bar from around his waist, before pulling out his Glock from the waistband of his jeans. She dropped them in a basket near the door as she moved to Clay. "You too, arms up." She took his weapons and dropped them where she had left Jax's. "Take a seat." She gestured to the table. Jax could hear the nervousness in her tone and notice the blank expression on her face, but what stuck with him more was her demeanor as she stood behind the kings in that army stance, like a soldier on guard, cold eyes looking straight ahead, her lips in a tight line. No emotion. It was such a contrast to how he had seen her. It was as if Lilith who had been with him wasn't even in the room.
"We'll allow Jimmy a safe passage out of Ireland to secure the safety of your son. Lilith will escort you and Kellen to the exchange at the docks. There's a boat waiting for Jimmy, to take him to an airfield in county down."
Jax glanced at Lilith, she never moved from her position.
"Jimmy's no idiot, how does he know after he hands over our kid your grunt here ain't gonna gun him down?" Clay said as he tilted his head to Lilith.
Jax looked at Lilith again as Kellen spoke. "There are assurances in place," Kellen said, Jax watched as the only movement Lilith made was a small glance of her dark orbs in his direction before she went back to staring into nothing over his head.
Brogan leaned forward with his elbow on the table. " We need something in return." Lilith visibly swallowed. She didn't know this part of the discussion, This is not what she and the kings had talked about.
"What?" Jax asked as he paused his lips, he was sick to the back teeth of hearing these old bastards' wine. He just wanted to get his son and leave this cesspool.
"We know that Jimmy's reached out to the Russians in Northern California. Brogan said.
"The ones we've been mulling your handguns to? Clay asked.
"Aye. There will be a short window of time when Jimmy will be there. You need to kill him before he exiles someplace where we can't find him." Jax eyes bored into Brogans.
"Comes with rewards," Roark added. Lilith scoffed and muttered. "Of course it does." Brogan slammed his hand on the table hard making the men in the room flinch in surprise. Brogan exchanged a look with Lilith but stayed put.
"No one is forcing you, Lilly! we give you your freedom...now this is what we want. Do you want to go back on what was discussed here today?" Brogan snapped.
Lilith glanced around at the men's faces at the table. She studied Jax's face for a few moments longer than the others then dropped her glance to the floor.
"Alright, you win I'll try to be nicer," Lilith utters as she moves back in her stance and blankness crosses her face again.
"Good, Now let's get on with it," Brogan said with a sickly grin as he lifted a hand for Roake to continue.
"We're willing to significantly expand your gun business." Clay and Jax exchanged a look.
"Jimmy lost sight of our goals, but we need the income he generated. we are hoping the Sons might be willing to trade on that need. " Dooley added. Jax's jaw clenched at the balls of these people.
