TIES THAT BIND

Rat rushed to the Lodge to pick up Jax, Lilith, and their baby. Jax was anxious to get the baby checked out at the hospital due to a family flaw. Lilith was initially confused by Jax's panic, but after he explained the situation, she too felt the need to have their baby examined. Jax watched with pride at the hospital as the nurse checked their perfect baby boy. He couldn't help but think of his first son, Abel, at the same age. Jax wished Abel had a mother as loving as Lilith. He knew that once Lilith had their son back in her arms, she would be an amazing mother, He hoped that one day she would be that role to both of his beautiful sons. Jax was brought out of his thoughts as the door opened and a familiar doctor walked in with a clipboard in her hands.

"Jax...Hi," Tara uttered nervously. 

"Tara! What are you doing back." Jax frowed. 

"I grew up here Jax, I got my old job back... I'm Sorry I didn't know you were here." Jax glanced over his shoulder to Lilith who sat in a chair watching the reunion.

"Well, Let's get this baby checked over shall we." Tara moved to the bed and looked the baby over, listening to his heart carefully she looked up at Lillith. Tara wrapped her stethoscope back around her neck and smiled at the Mother.

"Well, There are no signs of the genetic heart disorder. Your son is in the clear. I will need some information from you, procedural stuff." 

Lilith glanced at Jax and then back at the Doctor, she could feel the tension in the room.

"Could I take yours and the child's name?" Tara continued. Jax didn't want Tara to know that he and Lillith hadn't even named their son or that they weren't a couple, he certainly didn't want her to know that she didn't have a green card.  He went to speak and make some bullshit up when his heart skipped at Lillith's next words.

"Thomas... Our son's name is Thomas Teller and I am Lillith Telford. We've had a long day Doctor, so if We can do this later tha be grand."

Tara sighed and lowered the clipboard in her hands before nodding and leaving the room. 

Jax watched the door close behide Tara before turning to Lillith who was rocking his son in her arms.

"Thomas...his name is Thomas?"

"Aye, you can change it if you like, but that's the name I gave him when he came into the world."

"You did?" He asked with a smile as he slowly walked over to them. "Aye in Ireland we name our firstborn sons after the father, I wasn't sure if Abel was a Jackson so..."

She trailed off a little disappointed she had made the wrong choice. " He does, Abel Jackson."

"you can change it if-"

"No babe, it's perfect. Although I would like both my sons to carry a name of mine. You don't mind him having the middle name Nathaniel do you?" He asked as he took the baby in his arms and kissed his whisp of blonde hair. Lillith repeated the name a few times and sounded it out.

"Thomas Nathaniel...Aye, I love it." she smiled wide at him. Jax had the urge to reach across and press his lips to hers.  "so what's with you in the doctor." Lillith asked. Jax rolled his eyes disappointed she'd killed his buzz with just that one word. Doctor. 

"It's a long story let's get you and little man home and we can talk."

"Home...and where would that be? I don't know if you've noticed Jackie but I am far from home."

"You're both staying with me and Abel!" He put his hand up to stop her talking. "Please don't fight me on this... Just come to my place and then we can work it out from there. Like you said, Darlin, it's been a long day." He gave her a tight smile.
