4 months later-

May-

These last few months have been the best Midnight works with me and Ned and i have been getting on well, that doesn't mean I like him. I think. the rodeo is coming to Mt. Isa I a couple of weeks I want to enter Midnight in it, he will be amazing. Only if he can turn a bit sharper.

Ned-

these last couple of months I have got to know May better, she is a lot like me loves horses, loves the station (cattle station).

May-

"hay Ned" I say as I walk up to him, December is the best time is Australia, it is HOT that means long rides, longs swims and parties. "do you want to go for a ride later" I ask him. , my dad told me I have to get to know him better. I have only known him for two years and I don't even know where he came from. "sure May, are you planning something, like you and your other popular friends going to try and drown me. or throw me in the dam" then it hit me he was four eyes the kid me and some of my other friends use to tease, so we throw him in the dam at school five times and suddenly you're the bad guy. He moved away because his parents split up I didn't now that he was back or that his mother let him work here. After he moved away those friends turned on me and said it was my fault that he left and now we can't have any fun, so I turned my attention on to barrel racing and hoped that maybe it would get me out of here and out of the hole I dug for myself. "no, I wont throw you in the dam" then I mumble after" am not friends with them any more" he looks at me like he now what I said then smiles "what did you say May" I mumble it again "I didn't catch it again" he tell me " I am not friends with them, ok. that's what you wanted to hear" I finally yell to him. " I thought they left ya" I gave him a puzzled look "how do you now they left me?" that's stuff id private how did he now "you were to nice and pretty to leave them. not to mention dumb to even be with them in the first place" I quickly turn my brown hair turns quickly to giving me the effect that I was mad "dumb, that's what you call me" I was mad now "yeah I also called you pretty" alright maybe he was right "so will you come on a ride" he walks away no he doesn't "be ready in 5" yes, I can get out of chores "I'm not tacking up midnight for you" damn one thing has to go wrong today.

5 minutes later

"kick the horse in to gear Ned, what's the fun of a ride if you don't go fast" I yell back to him as  make Midnight go  into a canter while Ned is just walking Bambi, my other horse Ned's went lam for some reason. "life's just not about being fast" he reply's with "ya rights, it is just about being fast" I yell to him the kick Midnight to make him go faster, I was now flying across the planes of just dessert kind of land "there is a dam about 2k if ya want to swim" I ask as he catches up to me "sure, Bambi needs a rest"

"here is the dam" I tell Ned it's not on my land but it is like a public place "give me the horse, i'll tie it up" Ned holds out his hand for the reins, I pass it to him (dam above) "did ya bring me some food, May" is that all he wants to now "yea sure" I tell him a little annoyed "get in" I jump in my cloths will dry n the way home. The water was cold but refreshing, we swim then play Marco and polo, and then we just splash each other. I had the worst feeling that someone was watching, but it might be a roo or a wallaby maybe even a drop bear. we were having so much fun went Ned came up to me we just stood there looking at each other for about a minute. I could tell he was thinking he dose think cute thing with his eyes he just blinks over and over, when finely he takes a step closer until he is right in front of me he leans in and kisses me he tasted of peppermint, when I hear a noise again, I look behind to see nothing the Willis farm house is in the distance, maybe one of there horses got out again they have the worst fences it the distract. "we better get back" I tell Ned as I walk back to the horses "I got lemon slice" as I open the saddle bag and grab out a plastic bag with the slice wrapped is non-stick paper, I hand him the smallest peace "hay, i'm the man I need the biggest peace" "oh, i'm sorry when did the man arrive" I drop my bit and run up to him and push him in the water splash  when we come up he looks at me in thought again from the way he's blinking his eyelids "ya now, I primary school I had the biggest crush on you, I thought it was cute that you use to try to kill me in a new way every time" so that's why he took 2 years to leave "I got creative when you lived here, so what has your love life been like since you left" going in to the most personal questions "oh, that. well I dated a cheerleader, class president and a few others" I give him the eyebrow "really?" "alright the cheerleader is true" thought so.

I look up suddenly "I smell smoke" Ned looks up to "yeah ya right we better get back must be a bushfire near by your dads gone into town right" I thought trough to this morning,

flashback

"honey i'm going into town today, you need to get to now Ned more or no phone"

Flashback over

"yeah he did, shit maybe he left the pan going" I jump on Midnight and kick her into a canter just till I get her away from the scrubs, Ned wasn't far behind me. once out of the scrubs I push her into a full gallop. I kept thinking what if it was the farm, what would dad think. As I neared the farm nothing seemed wrong the bang a huge explosion came from the stable, I jump off the horse and run too get the horse out, I grab Felix, Banana, Spartin and last of all Mr Pepper. once I tied up pepper I went back into the burning stable to see what was left Ned was on the phone to the fire brigade, out of the corner of my eye I see a movement then a body carrying a kerosene bottle, it was Peter!!!!! He was one of the boy I use to tease Ned with, I run over and tackle him to the ground "what are you doing here" I yell at him "you and that idiot were making out by the damn and I love you, I couldn't let you be with such a stupid person" I lift my fist up "don't do it May, you are the best person I have ever met I love yo...." I hit him with my fist, out like a light.
