We finally made our way back to the castle. Xenoch and Shyvana were resting back at the castle garden while Emily and I strolled the streets of the castle. Blacksmiths and fish markets mostly filled the streets, but there were some who sold jewelries."We need to prepare for our journey." She said, "Grab anything you need."
"Aye." I said, "You need to prepare yourself too, you can't go journeying with a dress."
"Indeed."
I grabbed a few daggers from one of the blacksmith's shop, I asked if he had any armor he could spare. He rummaged through a pile of clothing and metal-bounded armors.
"Here." He said, "It's the finest thing I've got. This is made of Ivory from the cold mountains, it is light to wear but hard to destroy."
He handed it to me.
"My sincerest gratitude, kind sir." I said.
"Anything from a friend of the princess."
I looked for more things I could use, but when I thought of it, indeed I needed a saddle for Xenoch. There were so many saddles displayed, mainly for the horses and not of use for the dragons, but I thought that this would fit well for Xenoch. Emily was nowhere to be found, I then decided this was enough. I wouldn't want to ruin the livelihoods of her people. I made my way back to the castle entrance, I cannot remember the way back to Emily's room.
"Excuse me." I said to a guard "Can you lead me to Emily's room?"
"Follow me." The guard said strictly.
Wow. They must be really serious about their duties as a guard, even I wouldn't have took my guard duties seriously. I would often get drunk in the taverns.
We made our way past several corridors filled with furniture of high standards. The castle walls are quite scary when the darkness fills it, the paintings looked distorted from afar but I ignored it and kept walking. I wouldn't want paranoia to strike my mind, Maybe humming a song might help.
"Right here." The guard said "The princess is currently at the garden with the dragons, I figured you already know where it is?"
"Yes, thanks." I said
I went to the garden and found Emily sitting beside Shyvana and Xenoch, She was already in full combat wear.
"Are you ready yet? You better get suited for the journey." She said.
"Aye, I will." I said, "Where can I change?"
"There are lots of rooms here." She said, "Find a room that suits you."
Well that was a stupid question...
I headed to the nearest room and changed my armor. The armor that the smith gave me had a design on it, it had a symbol of a dragon at the right chest piece, its color mainly black with a mixture of grey. It suited me well and incredibly light to wear. The blacksmith even gave me new boots to wear, one that matches the outfit. I stepped out of the room to meet Emily, who was sitting at the couch.
"Well." I said, "I think it suits me."
She turned around and gasped.
"My, my!" She said, in awe. "Look at you, now you look like a dragon trainer!"
"You as well, your majesty." I said.
"Oh stop with being casual." She complained "The dragons need to see this."
We excitedly made our way back to the garden, to meet Xenoch and Shyvana. Xenoch jumped around the garden like a mad dog.
"You like it?" I asked him, "I got you something too, here."
I placed the saddle at his back, he seemed delighted at the idea.
"Now we will be able to make tight turns." I said.
"Shall we go, Emily?" I asked.
She hopped on to Shyvana and so did I with Xenoch. She looked like a warrior more than a princess, but when we think of it, she has a heart of a princess and a soul of a warrior.
"Let's go." She said, "Let's meet our other family."
We spurred our dragons and took off to the unwary night.
