18: The demonic ritual

Min Yoongi had just returned from the Vatican, his mind occupied with many thoughts on how he is going to defeat the demon. He knew he was going to face the demon again and now since the demon already knew Yoongi's strength and weakness, it will surely play along with Yoongi. He has no idea about the demon's weaknesses.

Since the demon had not gone away- it had merely moved into another being. And Yoongi believes that 'being' to be Jungkook.

After many agonizing hours of thinking in the plane, Yoongi came to a conclusion that it's Jungkook who might be the victim rather than Kezia. Though Taehyung bit Kezia, it can be a trick of the demon to distract Yoongi from the next victim of his.

It was already 5:00 in the evening when he arrived at Jimin's house. Yoongi was relieved to find Reverend Mother Rosa already there along with Jimin and Taehyung. But he was not prepared for what he saw next.

Jungkook was tied to the bed. Sweat poured from his body, and his eyes were wild with fear. Taehyung was crying helplessly, trying to calm Jungkook down. "Don't worry Jungkook, we are going to save you," Taehyung says. Everything was in disarray, as if a great force had torn the room apart.

Others were surprised and relieved to see Yoongi there. He explained to them the gravity of the situation, the demon was searching for a new host and Jungkook seemed to be the perfect candidate, it can cause a disaster using Jungkook as his vessel. He elaborated how he had failed to exorcise the demon, and how he needed one more chance to fix his mistake.

"C-can you do something please? Jungkook is getting out of control," Taehyung cries out and Yoongi feels bad for him. It was because of his mistake that Jungkook is possessed. If he hadn't underestimated the demon and paid more attention, maybe Jungkook wouldn't be in this pitiful condition.

Yoongi takes a deep breath before saying the prayer, "Soul of Christ, sanctify me; Body of Christ–"

Suddenly, Jungkook lost all his control and broke free from the restraints, snarling at Yoongi with inhuman ferocity. His eyes glinted with the demon's power, as he moved on all fours towards the door.

"Stop right there!" Yoongi demands.

Taehyung screamed for someone to stop Jungkook, but it was too late. The young man was already out the door, running down the street on all fours with incredible speed. Yoongi knew that there was no way he could catch him, not at that speed.

The only thought that kept Yoongi going was the realisation that he couldn't fail again. He needed to try again, to exorcise that demon before it could take another innocent life.

"I still don't understand this demon's motive. How did it come here…?" Jimin asked with a frown to which Yoongi nodded. "I think the of same thing too. I only know that there is a demon but nothing else about it," young priest says.

Mother Rosa let out a sigh and everybody looked at her. Even Taehyung, who was silently sobbing, also stopped and looked at her. "Do you know something about this demon? Please tell us!" Yoongi demanded an answer and mother Rosa nodded.

"It happened years ago when I was 17 just years old… me and other sisters unknowingly summoned the demon of lust through a ritual." Everyone gasped at the new found information. Rosa turned to look at Yoongi and said, "Even your grandmother Sun-young, was a part of the ritual."

Yoongi's eyes widened in surprise.

A small flashback scene—

Rosa was just a young girl when she was dragged into performing a ritual with a few other sisters from the Convent. She never could have guessed what horrors lay ahead.
