Twenty-four butterflies

~Y/N POV~

We all stand in circle in the field, ready to talk about our strategy for the game. I watch Tatta sitting on the floor, a slight spark of hope in the eyes.

Tatta : Is it just me, or was Kyuma being... nice to us ? Just like a normal guy.

I frown to his remark.

Y/N : He may act friendly, but don't forget he is a king, the strongest opponent we ever got to fight. His life is on the line, just like us. Don't fall in his kind behavior because he won't do us favours.

Tatta pouts. His eyes fall on the floor, a bit ashamed of his statement. With a sigh, I walk past him, giving a small tap on his shoulder.

Y/N : It's easy to empathy people that are nice towards you, don't feel bad for it. Just keep our victory in mind more than anything else.

He nods, giving me a grateful grin. I smile back and continue my walk to finish beside Usagi.

Usagi : We have to split the points now. Any ideas ?

Tatta looks up at her.

Tatta : Why not split them equally between us ? 2 000 points per person.

Niragi scoffs, leaning against our base.

Niragi : That would be stupid. We need a strategy.

Arisu hums, walking closer to us.

Arisu : I might have one.

Everyone eyes him, some curious, the others worried.

Y/N : Go ahead.

We all naturally gather around him as he begins his speech.

Arisu : We need someone to protect the base, it's a necessity. The minimum to give is 100 points, and since you get infinite points once you touch the base, the person staying there doesn't need more.

Usagi nods, walking closer to him.

Usagi : That leaves us with 9 900 points for the others.

Arisu approves with a headbutt.

Arisu : I suggest we make two categories : the fast runners and the slow runners. The fastest will have fewer points since they're most likely to escape, and the slowest will have more points to compensate for their lack of physical capacities. A fast runner could also pair with a slow runner.

I raise an eyebrow. It's an interesting plan : pairing will intimidate the other team and give us a bigger chance to win a battle. There's just one thing left to decide.

Y/N : And who is who ?

Arisu glances towards Niragi, hesitant.

Arisu : Niragi has to be a slow runner. With his injuries, he's too weak to be a fast runner, but also too weak to protect the base.

Niragi scoffs, straightening up.

Niragi : Weak, huh ?!

Usagi frows, crossing her arms on her chest.

Usagi : You'd rather stay at the base the whole game ? You should be satisfied to get the most points.

He rolls eyes while walking away. My attention goes back to Arisu as he talks again.

Arisu : You'll be a fast runner, Usagi. You're the strongest among us.

She nods with determination, before Arisu glances towards Tatta and I.
