CHAPTER 026 : THAT SMILE

The village was a disaster, and dead bodies were everywhere, Lisa stood in the middle of the body with a sword in her hand. She was a bloody mess her gaze held emptiness. A figure suddenly stood before her making her lift her gaze to the person.

For some reason, rage builds inside of her upon seeing the person, and without thinking much, she launches toward the figure with the sword in her hand. Swinging it she stabs into the figure's chest deeply yet the figure doesn't even budge.

She could see his lips curve up as he whispers

"It's your fault"

Lisa flutter her eyes open as she looks at the ceiling. She blinks twice before looking around. Why am I on the bed, she thought to herself as she sit up and look around until her gaze lends on a note beside her bed, she took it and read it.

'A Queen shall not lower her dignity for a mare human like me. Please, sleep in bed, you need a good rest to do your job as a Queen excellently, please drink the coffee I made before starting your day, Alpha.' -Jungkook

Lisa then look at the table and saw a cup of coffee, she took it. It wasn't hot nor cold which mean he was just here not so long ago.

Damn, we should wake up faster!

Akira said as she whine in her head but Lisa just chuckle and took a sip of the coffee. Enjoying it Lisa asks her wolf.

What's for today?

Jungkook walk around the village as the people greet and bow to him from time to time. He did the same with a small smile plastered on his face, he still can't get use to it but they just won't stop calling him that right?

He just wanna see just what does these creatures even do in their daily life? and if he is being honest, it looked like how any normal town would be. They have shop and school and also a neighbourhood. He suddenly saw an old granny coming out from a small bakery.

With bread in her hand, she slowly put it on the table outside probably for display. By the look of it, Jungkook could tell she's an omega and also the owner of the small bakery.

She would offer bread to the passer by, hoping to sell one of it but most people just refuse or ignore. It's not like it was their fault, they probably had breakfast already or are just busy with their life.

But something in Jungkook stings, feeling sad upon seeing the old lady work hard to earn a penny. He felt that, he had been there. He huff to himself, why is he even pitying to a wolf? He had gone through worse.

Jungkook felt ridiculous upon feeling the pity. He turn around to leave but just when he was about to walk away, he can't. He close his eyes, he can't ignore this feelings. The sting in his heart.

What is this?

He felt like he should go to the lady and comfort her, help her, protect her and keep her safe. What is wrong with him? Why would he care? Why would he even bother? Yeah... why? But he don't know the answer

Instead he turn around and walk towards the granny. The granny who had sit down sigh sadly as she watch her bread. Life had been a struggle. It's hard to earn now, she's getting old and weak.

No one was with her. No child. No husband. She felt teary as she thought of her life. "Granny? Can I buy some bread?" Her breath hitch upon hearing the soft and gentle voice as she lift her gaze.
