CHAPTER 34 : THE CONFLICT

The room was charged with tension as Junghwa's rage collided with Lisa's guilt, leaving everyone unsettled. Jungkook's silence spoke volumes, his clenched fist betraying the turmoil within him.

"What the hell did you just do?!" Junghwa yelled in anger as she pushed Lisa away but Rose pulled her away "Calm down!" She says "Calm down? Look what she had done to my brother!" She grits her teeth.

The room was tense as everyone looked at each other, Lisa looking at the floor as Jungkook closed his eyes and held his neck. He can fucking feel it, the damn mark. He can't believe it. He clenches his fist.

The superior elder looks at all the elders "Male Luna, is true that you met your wolf?" The elder asks making Junghwa scoff, she finally realizes, that all they care about is the title of the male luna, not her brother.

"Your species are shameless." She glared at Lisa who kept silent, she was lost for words. She doesn't know what to do. "Silence, human." The superior elder hissed but Junghwa stood her ground as the elder looked back at Jungkook who looked down.

"Answer me, Male Luna." she demands "Shut up..." He barely whispers making everyone look at him "What did you say?" The superior elder glared at him daringly. Jungkook grits his teeth, why is he here? Bloody hell, he should have just left when he got the chance.

An unknown voice whispered in his ears, triggering him more "You need to tell us. This is good news." the superior elder suddenly chukle making everyone frown "You had met your wolf, and the Alpha Queen had marked you." The superior elder clapped her hands

"Perfect, now all we need is your devotion to the species! And your role will be completed." Everyone was stunned by her words, including Lisa. What is wrong with this old lady? Doesn't she understand the weight of this matter?

The anger? The unwillingness?

"Ma'am, what are you-" Before Lisa could finish, she was cut off by the superior elder. "With all due respect, Alpha Queen, you should think more about your people, you have found your mate, you can't leave the sit empty for too long." The elder said.

"It was for the greater good." She said, telling Lisa to decide for her people, by sacrificing his rights. Junghwa clenched her fist, trying to hold back her tears. They don't care... Lisa doesn't care. She doesn't fight for her brother.

Junghwa questions herself, she's indeed wrong. She shouldn't have agreed at first. Lisa was conflicted but she didn't say anything because she knew, the superior elders were right in a way. Ever since she found Jungkook, prosperity starts to fade.

Rogue attack, pack war and the longer she takes to have the male luna, the worse it would be. they need the male luna's blessings to remain prosper and the only way is through a proper ritual. Lisa looks at Jungkook who clenches his fist.

The elder also glances at the male Luna as well and smiles almost meaningfully. It's your fate, you won't defy it right?" The superior elder said it. Jungkook felt like he would laugh at himself as he smirked and finally stood up.

"Well, of course." Everyone was surprised by his answer. He forced a smile but it was undeniable when they saw the hatred flaring in his eyes. He looks at everyone in the room, remembering the faces that did not side with him, all of them.

Until his gaze lends on Seokjin and Jisoo who looked at him with a worried expression, he scoffed deep inside, the fact that they left him like this proved how humanity had gone in Jungkook's eyes.

He then looks at his little sister. the one that he has cherished all his life. Loved and cared for, the one that brought him to his dismay today. He smiled almost pathetically, he hated himself because among everyone in this room, he could hate everyone but her, his little sister.
