Caught Up

Once at the pet store Violet wandered the aisles with Case looking over the small animals. Violet lead Case by the hand to the aisle for dog collars and he wordlessly followed and didn't notice until Violet started pulling a black studded collar for large dogs off the rack.

Violet looked around the aisle quickly before putting it over his neck. He stood completely straight with his hands in his pockets trying to suppress a smile as she moved his scarf and put the collar around his neck looking pleased with herself. He mostly looked red.

"I hate you so much right now."  he exhaled shaking his head trying to fight his smile back.

"Aw, what's wrong?" she crooned.

Case squirmed hands in his pockets he seemed trying to strategically position his coat.

"I could fuck a hole through diamond that's what's wrong." he snickered licking his lips and tried to look towards the ceiling.  Violet carefully removed it and gently tugged his scarf back into place. He strolled away hands in pockets. As Violet turned to put it back on the rack Case stopped short,

"You know that kind of collar wouldn't be unsafe to use on me."

"Just sayin'." he shrugged and disappeared towards the cat stuff.

Aside from a myriad of dirty jokes Case was sweet the entire day. They made dinner together, they watch some old slasher movie recommended by Case. Violet nervously dunked her carrot sticks into more hummus eyes glued to Mayhem at Murky Lake.

"I never got why movie's like this always demonize fucking, 'cause it's not like it's made by prudes they're making a horror movie with guts and tits."

"I think you're meant to feel bad for them and just enjoy the brief moments of full frontal nudity." Violet said pulling a throw pillow closer to her for comfort. Case looked over and put his arm behind her on the sofa resting, but he didn't put his arm around her. 

"I'm never fucking anyone near a haunted lake." Case declared between handfuls of popcorn. 

"I can't believe we've finally found a dangerous situation you don't find arousing." Violet quipped as chainsaw sliced a victim in laugh the fake blood painted the walls. That got a big laugh from Case.

"Actually wait, I'd fuck Michael Mayhem." he corrected.

"Michael Mayhem the antagonist and serial killer in the movie we are watching... that Michael Mayhem."

"Yeah." he deadpanned looking smug. He seemed to love getting arise out of her,

"Please say you mean his actor." Violet laughed shaking her head.

"No, I mean that's how I'd survive the night."

"You let him fuck you in exchange for you life?"

"No, I'd fuck him."

"You'd top Michael Mayhem?"

"Obviously, I'm not gonna let his hands near me or like turn my back to him that's prime real-estate for a chainsaw."

"You have a very dark sense of humor." Violet chuckled, she looked to Case who was smiling at her a sweet little smile.

"You might need to bring holy water for lube." she suggested as Michael was finally splashed with holy water and his skin began to melt like wax. 

"Now there's the woman who wrote Bloodgeist."

"Oh please don't tell me you actually liked Bloodgeist."

He looked at her with complete seriousness.

"I fucking love Bloodgeist."

By nighttime Violet said goodnight to him took a bath and went to bed. When she called down the stairs goodnight to him, he was setting up the blankets and pillows to turn the sofa into his bed. 

"Night." she called.

"Nite." he responded fluffing one of the pillows. He gave her an awkward little wave as he laid down. Then he reached for the lamp on her end table as Pennyloaf jumped up her new cat tree.

 In the middle of the night Violet woke up thirsty and left her room. It was dark expect for two lights, the television and the screen of Case's laptop. He was awake. The television was playing the late night shopping network. It drone quietly. Case hadn't noticed her. 

Violet smirked when she heard that distinct sound of his unsteady breathe. She noticed his hand moving up and down as she approach she could make out a quiet wet squishing sound.

"Hi Case."

"FUCK!"  he gasped. He started laughing and quickly fumbled to close his laptop and hide his lap with a blanket. 

"Aw, did I scare you?"

"You scared the shit out of me!"
