Ian opened the door and was taken aback by the sight of the wild-looking girl standing on his doorstep. But something in her eyes tugged at his heartstrings, and he felt compelled to help her.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

Hunter explained what had happened, how she had been attacked and was now on the run from the men who had targeted her. Ian could see the fear in her eyes and knew he couldn't turn her away.

"Please, can I stay here?" Hunter implored.

Ian hesitated, knowing that it wasn't his decision to make. But then he thought of his own situation and the fear and uncertainty he felt about becoming a father. If he couldn't help someone else in need, how could he expect anyone to help him?

"Okay," he said. "You can stay here."

Hunter let out a sigh of relief and collapsed on the couch, her body trembling with exhaustion. She felt safe for the first time in days, knowing that someone was looking out for her.

As Ian went to grab her a blanket, he couldn't help but think about the strange circumstances that had brought them together. A wild girl raised by wolves, a teenage runaway hiding a dark secret, and a young musician facing an unexpected pregnancy. He had no idea what the future held for any of them, but he knew they were in it together. For now, that was enough.
