Chapter 8

The next day Sky was on his  way to his next assignment when he saw Madison playing football alone.  Watching her run the ball dodging the trash (that was on the field) for a touchdown; Sky was impressed.Knowing her a little bit, Sky never knew  Maddie was into football.At school he always saw her researching  or doing space  experience. Noticing him, Maddie asked him if he wanted  to play.
Although  he really wanted to, the boy didn't want to embrace himself( especially in front of a girl). Just as he was going to continue  walking Maddie told im that she heard he was really.SFeeling intrigued, the boy said yes to playing against her. After setting everything and establishing the rules; their game began. Through every strategy she used on offense and defense, Sky became more and more fascinated. While he hated the fact he was getting beaten, Maddison's beauty and skill pushed all that stuff aside. Still he tried his best to play hard0. At the end of the game; Maddison had one 28-0 and had 6 turnovers.After saying good game, Sky left to go look for help.

  Arriving at his house, Calvin asked where he was and after he promised to be there tomorrow the man told him that first he would have to run two laps around the town.Walking home  the boy looked around the town and was confused why the giants wanted to escape this place. when it looked pretty cool. Then he thought about the useless training he was doing. The next morning, the boy woke up at 6 am and went on his run. To cheat, the boy started walking when he wasn't by the man's house. Unfortunately he started feel bad doing that, so he decided to run.5 seconds into it the boy's body aches really bad but  hearing the man voice in his head he pushed on.However, Sky's tiredness eventually overtook him and he collapsedLuckily, Maddison saved him and brought him to her house. There he thanked her and then the two of them talked about  each other and Maddison told Sky that back home she had an observatory to help her look at them. Stars and wished she  had one here or could go back there soon.. Hearing this and seeing  some of her drawings and notes,Sky really wanted to help them.

After he left Sky tried to  run again and this time he put all his hard work into it ignoring his pain. Reaching the man, Sky got ordered to help  Lucas find a plant that he had lost. Unfortunately, after hours of looking in his house; they couldn't find it anywhere,so they went looking for cool plants to study. Unfortunately they couldn't find any, so he decided to use an ordinary one. He knew it wasn't what he wanted but it was better than nothing.The next day Sky  was awoken by a loud scream. At first he thought it was his aunt but walking into the room, he was surprised to see her sleep. Quietly shutting her door, heathen quickly walked outside to the empty street. There he heard the screaming coming from Lucas' house. Wonder what was going on  he quickly ran to the boy's heart racing.Was it Lucas and   was he  hurt; if so what could have happened or was happening?", he worried.Also why was he the only one who could hear it.

Arriving in his house,the boy was alarmed when he saw  a huge plant that was destroying Luke's room.Seeing this the boy's heart started to race. In its vines he saw Lucas;who by the looks of it was getting squeezed like  lemon.His tomato  face was enough for Sky to tell that he was in trouble and needed his help. Seeing him; Lucas told Sky to quickly go over to the dresser  and open a container labeled tree sap ;and get it closer to the plants mouth and throw it in there. At first Sky wanted to say that it wouldn't work but  he knew Sky was in no mood to argue.
Quickly  Sky ran towards the dresser ( which was the only thing not  destroyed by the plant). As he did this his heart started to race; until suddenly he got tripped by one of the plant's vines. Quickly getting up he quickly grabbed the  sap before the plant crashed the dresser. Now(feeling really nervous ) , the boy  ran up close to the plant. Then when it turned his head and started to reach for Sky, the boy threw the  position in his mouth. At first nothing happened, so he got  really scared when the plant grabbed him and was about to stick him and Lucas in his mouth. As he got closer he could smell the creature's surprisingly  nice breath, and ( thinking this was it for him ) said goodbye to the world. Across from  him he could hear Lucas's screaming.

Then everything went dark and  Sky heard something hit the ground a thud.Next, there was total silence. At first when Sky woke up ; he thought he was in heaven. Thankfully he was relieved when he saw that he was on the floor in Lucas's house. Lolking at himself he saw he must have cut his hands and lip from the fall; because now they were bleeding. Looking at where the plant used to be he saw just plain soil.Then the boy remembered Lucas , and looked to his right and didn't see him. Worried, the boy scanned the room for him. Thankfully, he found him by the destroyed dresser. Running over to him he tried to wake him up by screaming his name. Unfortunately, this didn't work; so Sky frantically looked around looking for something to wake him up and found a potion that he planned to pour on his face. However, Sky forgot to read the label and ended up pouring  lemon acid on Lucas.It did wake him up; along with hurting his eyes a little bit. Luckily, Lucas had a rag and water to help. After apologizing Sky asked if he could help him clean up his house, and Lucas said no and thanked him for his help.

Before he left, Sky asked him why he he had a plant ghat big and he told him that he was trying to make the plant he had taken yesterday and make it you unique , but had accidentally used the formula that made it big and made it crave humans.After washing his hands and face with the river water, he headed back home.
