Midwood 14 Loyal academy 14
3rd quarter 15:00
Ever since Midwood's game-tying touchdown by their new QB( from Alabama )named Adam Good to Travis Long in the final seconds of the first half, the Autzen Stadium has been a madhouse; filled with their fans cheering and jumping and dancing to some amazing tunes that their band provided. Down on the field, the players and coaches joined in on the fun. Even though it was a tie game, to them, being tied against an outstanding team like Loyal Academy was amazing. Sky (the team's running back) felt like he was walking on clouds. He too couldn't believe that they were tied up with Loyal Academy. Hearing the music, the boy wanted so badly to dance but afraid of embarrassing himself he held himself back. Instead, he smiled and looked all over the stadium at the joy and excitement that were being expressed by all of their fans and his teammates, and coaches. Now of course Loyal Academy's team and fans were excited, but their emotions were drowned out by Midwood's fans dancing and cheering . Soon Sky could hear and see the bleachers on the other side move. The thing that really stunk was that the opposing team's student section was closest to the other team's sideline, so when one really excited Midwood student jumped up really high and far; he landed right into Loyal Academy's sideline. Of course, as you can imagine, this ended up turning into a fight that the ref had to stop. Of course for Midwood, the fun did not stop there. Along with dancing, some of the coaches and players did karaoke using a football as a mike while others just sat or walked around. Hearing his coaches sing Old Town Road really cracked him up. However, what was even more funny was watching Adam and his girlfriend Macy Davidson(who was a cheerleader. doing a duet today. While he did this he laughed inside thinking about how much of a fun person Adam was when she was around. Spotting Sky out of the corner of his eye Alex stopped and rudely motioned him away and then made him continue dancing. Although he was scared; watching everyone else express their happiness, Sky thought he should too. First, he started moving his hips to the music, and then his legs and arms. This may have been a bad idea though because as soon as he truly started to dance, his teammates and coaches gathered around him and watched.
Why so much excitement;well that's because they had made it to their first championship game and (after being behind 2 score),were finally looking like they might be able to win.
Now out of.all the sports played at Midwood,Cross Country was a crowd favorite mainly because both their girls and boys team always ended the seasons with one or two losses. As a result of all their their success through the years a lot more people started coming to cheer on them(even the football players' parent).Thinking about it, Sky didn't understand why people enjoyed watching and cheering on people as they ran around a course chasing each other,as if Sky could get enough of that from his cat and dog.To be fair, their football team was kind of horrible and they blamed most of this on Sky and the mini game breaking mistakes he made as running back.Unlike those crazy fans, he preferred to spend his weekend watching and studying football to help make him become a better running back.Unfortunately his mom was a big Cross Country fan and so every Saturday at 6 a she wakes him up so that they could drive to a Cross Country meet and cheer on his schooGetting used to this routine the boy would always bring his phone to the meets( and not to take pictures or videos of the runner), but to watch a football game. Therefore whenever him and his mom(who was really wrapped up in the race)heard him cheer it was usually because some team scored a touchdown. While she was fine with it the first few meets, when both teams made state last year (and they went to cheer them on)Skys mom compelled him to leave his phone at home, saying that watching the runners form could really help him in becoming a better running back.To be honest as he watched the athletes he was impressed and inspired. The next day at practice the team talked about how easy Skys football went down to watching all the "easy" players . One day the football coach named Joe Aspen; talked to the Cross Country coach about switching workouts for a day. Unfortunately, this only went on to show how awful their football team really was. Those long distance runners were faster than they thought. Not to mention, in the past four years they were able to get 8 runners to qualify for regionals, and the other 4 to make it to state and the Olympics.
