The Plan To Kill Devari...

Devari snapped back as he was forced from controlling his vessel. He almost fell but retained his composure then wiped his bloody nose and growled, "what was that?" He frowned, "Seth... where did he get that power!?" He clenched his hand into a fist then relaxed, "no matter, I guess I will have to get my hands dirty as they say", he smiled looking towards Calba Town, "and now I know where they are", he adopted a sadistic smile and began walking away from the shattered spire.

Night had fallen, most of Zayla's friends had fallen asleep, all but... "hey Bodoku". Zayla said walking outside to see him sat on the ground guarding the door, "room for one more?" "Uh oh yeah... of course". She sat down beside him and crossed her legs noticing him nervously playing with the blade between his legs, "is that a sword or are you happy to see me?" She joked. He tensed and cleared his throat blushing, making her face burn red. She nudged him, "this is stupid, we've known each other for years, just because we've spent a few months apart it doesn't mean we should be so awkward..." "Yeah, you're right it's just... last time we were together, I died and left you with the 'I love you' bomb... I didn't know how you'd feel..." Zayla raised a brow, "well, you died, I felt terrible like I wanted to die alongside you... and of course I feel the same, that's assuming you didn't just say that because you were dying..." she chuckled nervously. He turned to her, "no of course not!" He said louder than he meant to, "I-I..." he sighed, "find it so difficult to explain how I feel..." he sat back then looked to the stars, "when I'm near you, I get knots in my stomach I always want to hold you, to keep you near... those three months you were gone were the hardest months of my life. I couldn't function, I was willing to give anything to see you again, your starry eyes, your glowing skin, your beautiful smile. It was agony being away from you not knowing what was happening to you was driving me crazy... I love you Zayla, I have loved you for years and I-I want to be with you", he turned his head to look at her, he gasped, she was crying staring at him lovingly, "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you!" She smiled then moved towards him and pressed her lips against his. At first he was surprised, but after a few seconds he placed a hand on the back of her head and began kissing her back. They separated for a brief moment, "I love you Bodoku", Zayla said through heavy breaths. "I love you too Zayla", they began to snog, Zayla leant back slightly as Bodoku's other hand cradled her back. They froze looking up as they door opened. Seth looked down at them in surprise, "oh uh..." He tensed as they quickly separated, Zayla straightened out her messy hair, "apologies I-I didn't know anyone was out here..." "No, no it's fine..." Bodoku mentioned feeling his cheeks burn, "uh how are you, you're walking and talking now", Zayla mentioned. Seth stepped out and shut the door, "yes... it's a little strange but I know the situation", he looked at Bodoku, "I wanted to thank you, for not giving up on me and for getting me out of that place". "You're our friend, and besides I'm pretty sure you saved me back there quite a few times". Seth gave him a nod then looked at Zayla, "I am glad you are alright". "Thanks Seth, I'm glad you ae too". He blinked at them in turn, "well... I better head back inside, I'm still feeling a bit drained..." He staggered as he went to take a step towards the door, then raised a hand as Bodoku got up, "I'm alright, don't worry I can make it back". "You sure?" "Yes", Seth walked in and shut the door quietly. Bodoku sat back down and started to fiddle with his blade, he glanced at Zayla as she started to chuckle, "is that your sword or are you happy to see me", she repeated, Bodoku smiled at her and they both laughed. He put his arm around her and pulled her close, "when all this is over", he began, "I want to be with you". Zayla looked up at him and kissed his lips, she laid her head on his chest and closed her eyes. He kissed the top of her head.

"Uh-hem..." Tidus made Bodoku and Zayla jump awake as he cleared his throat, he looked back inside, "I found them!" He called, "they're fine!" Bodoku stood and pulled Zayla to her feet. "We were just guarding the door..." Zayla mentioned straightening her clothes. Tidus raised a brow, "uhuh" he couldn't help smiling. Bodoku's eyes darted away as Zayla tapped Tidus' arm, "come on you're embarrassing us..." He raised his hands, "hey I'm just saying... it's about time", he grinned walking back inside. Zayla looked at Bodoku, "are you okay? With everyone knowing I mean... because Tidus is definitely going tell them..." Bodoku gave her a smile and stroked her face, he took her hand, "then lets do it ourselves", he opened the door gaining all those in the living rooms attention, "me and Zayla are a couple now!" He said with a hard stare, "anyone got a problem?" Zayla withheld a snort. Tanjiro sighed, "bummer... I mean congrats though for you two and everything". "So you finally shared your feelings", Tonton said, "good on ya". "No need for threats we're happy for you", Skarra said, Ryku nodded, "indeed, love is a beautiful thing. Have you... you know?" Zayla's eyes widened and she blushed as Bodoku frowned at him. Skarra slapped his arm, "Ryku! You can't just ask them that!" "I'm sorry!" Choji exited the bathroom, everyone looked at him, "uh... hey. Listen now that everyone's here... I just wanted to say-" "There's no need to apologize... we know Devari was in control", Yena told him. "I wasn't going to..." he replied making the room silent, "uh so... I was gonna say, whatever Haku did to me seems to have nullified my power. I'm not a threat to anyone anymore, but that doesn't mean I want to sit back when the fighting starts, because his coming. You know we're not safe here anymore right?" "Of course", Yuki said, "I would say we have the numbers, but a majority of us are injured-" "I'm fine", Bodoku insisted, "me too", Tanjiro said. "I am uninjured", Skarra added. "I am healed", Ryku told her. "I heal now too apparently", Tidus mentioned with a small wave. Yuki sighed, "anyone else want to say how good they feel?" "I am not a hundred percent, and given the condition I'm in, I am obviously in no state to fight. I regret to say I can not help you..." Seth explained from the kitchen doorway, "I would like to say however, that for some reason I can tell how each of your physical bodies are..." "What do you mean?" Bodoku asked. "Well like you for example, you said you are fine, yet you are feeling pain from your side and arm wound..." Zayla looked at him as he stared, "I can handle it..." he replied. Tonton approached him, "which reminds me, this is your last one", she unraveled the bandage from his arm then put the needle in it and injected the antidote. "thanks..." Tonton turned to Seth, "is anyone else not feeling great and lying about it?" Tanjiro raised a hand, "yeah... me... my arm is still killing me..." he admitted. "So is my head..." Ryku added. "I uh... I'm hurting all over kinda, I guess", Choji said. Yuki looked them over then glanced at Rex, "you haven't said anything". Rex looked up, "oh uh... I don't know what to say, I mean I wasn't much help leaving the spire, how could I help in an actual confrontation against Devari?" "Don't sell yourself short Rex, you did plenty", Bodoku said giving him a slight nudge. Rex smiled slightly, "I appreciate you saying that but, I'm pretty useless in a fight, I have no powers and no sword skills as far as I know..." "His right", Seth mentioned, "he would be about as helpful as I am right now". "Seth..." Zayla muttered, then she went to the middle of the room, "look, I know everyone one of us has a reason to take Devari down, no one's reason is more important than another, but the truth of the matter is, if we don't go at him with our absolute strongest... most of us will die. So I say, we run". "What?" "Run?" "You can't be serious", Yuki finished. "Damn right I am". "Zayla, if we run, it could give Devari time to make new perfected clones, now that he has conquered immortality", Seth explained. Zayla nodded, "I know, but it'll also give us all time to heal properly and perfect our powers". Bodoku crossed his arms as they all seemed lost, "I agree". Tanjiro looked at him, "you do?" "Yeah, Devari has more power than he led us to believe, we have no idea what else he has up his sleeve, he could have Torlan's abilities as well... or worse Marnie. A tactical retreat would be the best option for now". Tidus glanced at him, "you mean running away?" "Running away implies that we intend to avoid him forever, I don't", Bodoku explained. Ryku looked over, "if you intend on running, then I wish to stick by your side. When I last left you... you were taken..." "I will remain", Skarra mentioned, "I want to find out Devari's plans and run reconnaissance on his powers". "So do I", Tidus mentioned. "What? Wait you wanna split up? Are you nuts?" Tanjiro mentioned. Yuki nodded, "I think we should, clearly the uninjured should keep a watchful eye on Devari's movements and shut down any attempt to regain a foothold". "Stop!" Tanjiro yelled, they looked at him, "w-we can't split up... I mean look what happened when we were all over the place, separating makes us vulnerable and weaker no matter who goes with who. If we all stay together we have more power, and less chance of any of us getting killed, we protect each other". Some of them looked at the ground until Yena said, "I'm with Tanjiro, if we split up we'll lose each other and not even know about it". "But as a bigger group aren't we a bigger target?" Rex asked. "No, they're right", Seth added, "with a few of us Devari would make easy pickings, with all of us I bet he'd even struggle to use our powers against us assuming he has Marnie's abilities". "That's right, it would be a strain right?" Tanjiro finished. "So what are ya saying then ladies and lads?" Tonton asked, "stick together or fall apart?" Zayla looked around the room seeing that some of her friends still had to think on it so she said, "this all started with me and my mother... if she hadn't been in that accident and I hadn't become immortal... Devari wouldn't have destroyed so many of your lives..." She sighed, "his my uncle, my problem. I should take him alone-" Bodoku took a step towards her, "but since I know Bodoku won't let me do that, then he and I will kill Devari for good". "And if you can't do it alone?" Seth asked with a plain stare, "if you both face him and die?" "Then at least you guys can get away", she replied. "Nonsense", Seth spat, "as if any one of us are willing to let you perish for us". "B-But I'm doing it for me really-" "Bullshit". "Seth..." "I mean it, all this talk of giving up, running away, splitting up. It's foolish and you're all a bunch of buffoons, minus Tanjiro and Yena". Choji frowned and muttered, "but I didn't even say anything..." Seth ignored him and continued, "the truth of the matter is, we're all scared". "I'm not..." "Shut up Choji!" Seth and Yuki yelled together, "look I get it, Devari has somehow figured out how to become immortal, and he has numerous powers possibly, but so what? Immortality doesn't mean invincible". "His right", Bodoku agreed, "when I fired that spear back at him, it cut his face". "So what then?" Tidus asked, "take him apart?" "I don't think I'm the only one that want's to chop the bastards head off", Tonton cut in, she fist bumped Tanjiro as he held out his clenched fist, "true that". Seth looked around the room feeling a change in everyone's attitudes, "so, are we in agreement?" "Hell yeah", Choji said, "I didn't really wanna split up anyway". The others nodded then looked to Zayla as she stood still, "what say you, Zayla?" Seth anxiously awaited her reply feeling relief as she smiled, "you guys are stupid", she said, "but I guess, here's to being stupid together..." "Never mistaken bravery for stupid, and vice versa", Seth explained. "Anyone got a plan then?" Yuki asked, "we can't exactly just wait here for him to come knocking". "Actually..." Zayla grinned, "that's exactly what we're going to do, or some of us at least". "I know that look..." Tanjiro moaned, "it's the face Bodoku makes right before he does something really stupid..." Bodoku frowned at him, "hey..." "Well it's true..." Bodoku looked at Zayla's expression as she said, "we'll lay a trap, live bait", she nodded. Bodoku stared at her then looked at Tanjiro who raised his eyebrows as if to say 'I told you so'. He shrugged and turned his head. "I'll stay here with... Bodoku, Tidus, Tanjiro and Yuki". "Uh why them?" Rex asked. "Because, they've been around me the most, well the first three have, as for Yuki-" "I protected you before he kidnapped you three months ago". "Uh yeah... I was gonna say you don't seem to abandon what you believe in and Devari knows that about you but yeah, your thing too". Yuki gave her a nod. "What will the rest of us be doing?" Tidus wondered. Zayla looked at him, "you will be in the trees, literally. When Devari comes in, that'll be when you surround the cabin, I don't want him getting away..." Tidus looked impressed, "actually, not a bad idea, we come in when the going gets tough I'm guessing". "Right", she looked at Ryku, "we're gonna need some unbreakable swords if you can". "I can, but it will leave me weaker for the fight..." "No", Tonton went into the bedroom then came out with three needles, "this love, is iron. As soon as you start to feel drained, I'll jab one of these in ya and hey presto, you're fighting fit again!" Ryku tensed looking at her, Skarra gently took the needles away from her, "I'll do it..." "Why?" "Because, he trusts me not to put pot holes in his skin..." Tonton sighed crossing her arms, "the cheek... I'm gentle when I wanna be lass". "We should start now then", Ryku cut in, he held out both of his arms, two sword shapes formed in his forearms. "Can you make mine blue?" Tanjiro asked excitedly. Ryku glanced at him, "I... can try..." "Don't worry if you can't", Bodoku told him while giving Tanjiro a look. "What...?" They watched as the swords peeled from Ryku's skin and slowly span in the air gaining depth as more iron bulked them up. Ryku concentrated hard staring at one blade in particular, "Tanjiro, heavy or light?" "Light please..." he said. "Zayla?" "Uh can you make it in the middle?" Ryku nodded. One sword span faster becoming a long, skinny, blue tainted blade. It floated before Tanjiro who squealed with excitement, "you're the best!" He said. "Because it's light, I made it sharper, be careful". He said. Zayla grabbed the handle as the short sword hovered before her, she grabbed it swinging it a few times, "it can't be destroyed by magic", Ryku mentioned. She smiled, "thank you". Seth looked over, "I have the red sword", he mentioned. Yuki shook her head, "I have my own weapons", she added. "You already made me one", Bodoku told him flaunting his original blade and the sword Ryku had created for him three months ago. Rex stared at him, "I won't be any help, I don't know how to fight..." Ryku looked at Tidus, "your dual blades look a little dull, I can make two specifically for your abilities". Tidus gave a small shrug, "I won't say no to free blades, show me what you've got". Rex walked to the door, Bodoku looked over, "you alright Rex?" "Uh, yes! I just need to walk". "Well you shouldn't go alone, I'll come with you-" "No, I won't go far", he slammed the door behind him". "What was that about?" Zayla asked, Bodoku shrugged. "Wicked", they heard Tidus say, he held his new dual blades up, one white, one black, "you should sell weapons for a living Ryku", he lit them up with his powers, "these are great. It feels like they're resonating". "They only require a small amount of power, that way the more you put in the more powerful you become". Tidus nodded, "thanks man". Skarra grabbed Ryku as he went to drop, "I've got you", she said then gently pressed the need into his arm. "Is he alright?" Yuki asked. Ryku straightened his eyes wide, "whoa, that hit the spot!" "Good, because I have changed my mind, I wish for you to make me a huge jagged bone blade I want it white so I can see my enemies blood and guts much easier". They stared at her horrified, "have I offended you?" Seth stood beside her, "Yuki..." he began, "he can not create a bone blade..." was all he could think of to say. "Oh. Yes you're right. A big jagged, white, metal blade then, so I can shred the skin from my enemies and-" "We get the picture..." Choji interrupted. "Uh... a white jagged sword huh..." Ryku held out his arm. "And heavy", Yuki added. He nodded, "stand back... this is gonna be difficult". They all backed off, Tanjiro headed towards the door, "Jiro?" Yena called. "I'm just gonna look for Rex, I'll be back soon". "Remember Devari could be out there..." she said with concern. "I'll be careful, if I see him I'll hide in the dirt", he put a thumb up then left. Yuki marveled at the blade before her, "it's... magnificent", she was holding the hilt of her large, heavy, white jagged sword, "I can't believe you actually managed to create this..." Ryku sighed and sat down, "what... did you say it as a joke or something?" "Not at all, I really wanted a sword like this, in fact it almost looks exactly like my mothers, I am very thankful". "Uh... no problem, does anyone else require some kind of weapon?" "No, you've done enough, thank you". "Actually..." Tonton spoke up, "there is something I think you can do for me sweety".
