Seth looked down from the tree he and Yuki were sat in a little away from the cabin. He took a heavy breath gaining Yuki's attention, "are you feeling any pain?" "A little... Haku's spirit feels... heavy". Yuki looked at him, "Seth, you have to be more accepting to his energy, or it will crush you". "I understand", he stared at her. "Why are you staring?" She asked. "Oh. I was staring? Apologies I was just admiring-" he paused, "I uh... was just zoning out as they say". "Who?" "Sorry?" "Who says that?" Yuki awaited his answer. He was almost speechless, "now I know what it feels like for the others when they're talking to me..." he muttered. Yuki tilted her head slightly, "Seth, there is... something I was hoping to talk to you about". "Yes?" "Have you ever felt... like there is a pit in your stomach when you look at someone. You notice them in a certain way, I-I can't explain it". "Is it admiration?" "No. I feel like my breath catches, and I feel hot". Seth raised his brows slightly, "I-I feel the same", he mentioned attempting to give a warm smile. Yuki frowned, "you feel like that when you see Tidus?" Seth tensed straightening, "no! Of course not I uh..." he wobbled then suddenly fell backwards from the tree. "Seth!" Yuki quickly made her way down landing with a flip beside him to turn him onto his back, "are you alright? How do you feel?" Seth stared at the sky, "embarrassed..." "Can you get up?" "I think, if it's all the same to you Yuki, I'd rather lay here for a moment... alone". Yuki stood, "you're upset, was it something I said?" "No, I-" he tensed up and coughed, blood dribbled down his cheek. "Seth?" Yuki knelt back down. Seth's expression went from pained and ashamed to calm. He looked to Yuki, "the fall caused a massive shock to his system, I am have taken over momentarily to prevent him from feeling the pain". "Haku, how is he?" "I am attempting to rewrite his DNA, change his cell structure to human rather than the clone". "That won't kill him?" "I am unsure, but it is the only way to save his life, believe me I looked for other ways, but healing him is not sufficient to sustain him for a full life cycle, he'd only have a year at most". "I understand", she grabbed his arm as he started to get up, and helped him stand, "are you alright to be moving?" "Yes", he turned his head, "I sense someone is in danger, the darkness in Choji has been released once again..." Yuki grabbed his arm, "wait. Remember you're in Seth's body and he is badly damaged, you can not go charging in like a dragon and use brute force to stop him". He frowned at her, "I will not push Seth to his limits nor me to mine in this body". "Right..." Yuki let go of him and stepped back, "my mistake, which direction are we to go?" He raised his head then his arm to point, "that way, I can not sense Devari so we must be cautious". She nodded and started off in front of him, "Yuki..." "Yes, Haku". He joined her side, "nothing. Let's make hast".
Tidus, Ryku and Skarra froze as they came upon a hideous scene. There was nothing but black goo, everywhere. Tonton was on the ground nearby with bloody wounds the black goo was creepy over her body. "There", Skarra said aloud. They followed her gaze to see Choji hanging like a puppet in the goo, his eyes crying black tears, "Devari got to him..." Tidus fumed.
Bodoku groaned as he attempted to stand up, Zayla who had been pacing a few steps away looked at him, "did that hurt?" "...yes..." "Good let that be a lesson to you", she watched as he sighed up at her, "don't look at me like that Bodoku. You need to rest". "What I need is to get out there and help". Zayla knelt before him and lifted his top carefully removing the make shift bandage, "the bleeding stopped but it doesn't look like it's any better", she looked at him with a helpless smile, "I guess my spit either didn't work, or it worked more slowly than my tears..." she shrugged. Bodoku sighed again then glanced at Tanjiro, "what about you? How's your leg doing?" Tanjiro bent him leg slightly, "OW!" he allowed it to go limp, "uuh still not good... maybe Zayla should spit on me". They both glared at him, "it was a joke guys..." Zayla shook her head, she heard something in the distance, Bodoku turned his head hearing it too, "someone's coming", Tanjiro mentioned. "Alright that's it, help me up", Bodoku pressed, Zayla helped him to his feet and he drew his silver blade. Tanjiro used the earth to stand himself up watching as Devari walked towards them out of the darkness, "hello again", he smiled, "I was wondering when I'd bump into you after finding a few of your friends". Zayla shot a lightning bolt into the sky, Devari frowned slightly, "a signal? No one's coming Zayla, they'll be too busy dealing with Choji. He really is the strongest out of all my experiments, when his forced to lose all control". "His a human being you son of a bitch", Zayla growled. "Language my dear, is that any way to talk to your uncle?" "I think I speak for everyone when I say, shut the hell up with your bullshit mind games", Bodoku began, "if you want to finish this, let's go. We're right here". Devari eyed Bodoku, stopping on his wound, "seen Rex lately?" He asked noticing Bodoku swallow hard, "I'm guessing, he did that to you, so... he got his memory back". "No thanks to you..." Bodoku spat. "Why are you complaining!? I stopped him from attacking you, from trying to kill Zayla!" "Only because you wanted her for yourself!" "And not for any sentimental reason either", Tanjiro added. Devari regained his composure, "not true", he looked at Zayla who tensed, "I have done, many things that I regret, but my biggest regret is that I was never able to watch you grow up. I was so power hungry and I only cared about my own life-" "His not doing what I think his doing... is he?" Tanjiro said plain faced. Devari continued, "I ignored that you needed me, but I'm here for you now, if you'll join me. Think of what we could accomplish, and we can always be together because we can't die!" "Yep... knew it..." Tanjiro shook his head, he and Bodoku looked at Zayla as she took a step towards him. "Zayla...?" Bodoku called. She glared at Devari then chuckled, "aren't you missing a few things? How about the fact that you murdered my mum, you're own sister! You tried to snatch me for years and sent clones of yourself to kill my father, you damn near killed the love of my life and that of my friends!" Devari tilted his head slightly, "I'm sorry, I was hoping for some forgiveness, some way to get past it". "Are you insane?" Tanjiro cut in, "you've destroyed so many lives! And you want forgiveness, just like that? You got some balls". "Jiro", Bodoku said, he looked at him, "stop". "But..." "His made his case, it's Zayla's decision". Zayla glanced at him, he looked into her eyes and smiled, "at the end of it all, he is still the only family you have left. If you can forgive and forget, then so can I". "Smart lad", Devari interrupted gaining their attention. Zayla snorted, "okay, say I somehow forgive you for everything you've done, what then. What comes next for the immortal Zayla and her Uncle Devari?" He shrugged, "I have plans". "Involving?" He looked at Bodoku and Tanjiro, then back to her, "ones of which I will not discuss in front of them". "Them? They're my friends, and you..." She narrowed her eyes, "you will never change". Devari stared at her, "Zayla-" "Save it. I could never be like you Devari, as far as I'm concerned, my uncle died right after I was born along with my mother. You're just crazy..." Devari turned away and slowly started to grin, "is that really how you feel?" He said sadly. "It is. My friends are my family now". She looked at Bodoku then Tanjiro, both who nodded to her. "Then I guess, like your mother-" Devari span firing darkness at Tanjiro who cried out flying over the cliff, Bodoku sliced through the attack at him and glanced back, "I'll have to snuff them out!" "Jiro!" Zayla jumped in front of Bodoku to redirect Devari's lightning attack, "go! I've got this!" Bodoku looked at her then with a nod, he rushed to the cliff and looked down to see Tanjiro hanging on a single branch. "Don't worry about me! I can get up myself!" Bodoku left him to rejoin Zayla as she stumbled back from a darkness hit. He stabilized her then stood beside her with his sword drawn. "This is going to be too easy", Devari said.
