The Poison Kills Them Both...!? Choji Fails...

"CHOJI!?" Yuki called following tracks towards the ruins, "CHOJI! WE NEED YOU!" She yelled louder hoping for a response, hearing nothing she picked up the pace.

Ryku looked away from Skarra wrapping Tonton's arm in a bandage, "did you hear that?" He asked. Skarra nodded, "it sounded like Yuki". Ryku put his hands either side of his mouth, "YUKI!" He yelled back.

Yuki glanced up hearing a shout not too far away, she darted in that direction using the trees to speed up her run, moving through them like a ninja, she then flipped to land in front of Ryku who flinched, "Where's Choji?" She asked. He pointed to the Choji who was still unconscious leaning against the tree, she rushed over to him, "Choji". "That won't work we've tried", Ryku insisted. "Despite me telling them they shouldn't", Tonton mentioned, "the bugger nearly killed me thanks to Devari". "Devari is no longer a problem". "His dead?" Skarra asked surprised. "His been... decapitated, looks to be Zayla's work", Yuki tapped Choji's face, "the problem is he left a poison gift inside Bodoku's body before he died, the dark goo". Ryku frowned, "Bodoku..." He gulped. Skarra looked at Yuki as Tonton experimentally moved her arm, "thanks", she said. Skarra gave a nod, "Yuki. Choji will not be able to pull the goo from his body, he has almost no control over his darkness, and to get him to try would be unfair". "I understand what you're saying Skarra, if he fails... he will blame himself. But the same can be said for not trying, is that not the truth as well?" Skarra straightened, then looked at Ryku, "brother, wake him". Ryku walked to Choji, "excuse me miss", he said to Yuki then touched Choji's arm, "just because Devari has perished, does not mean he will wake up on our side". "I'm ready", Yuki replied. He gave a nod then flowed a slight bit of iron into Choji's body. Choji jumped awake with black colored eyes. "Choji, it's Ryku". Choji stared at him for a moment it seemed like he was confused, then he blinked, the black faded and he frowned, "Ryku... Skarra... Tonton I'm so sorry..." "There is no need to apologize", Skarra told him. "Says you..." Tonton moaned. Yuki pulled him to his feet, "are you fit to run?" "Run? I think so", he watched as Yuki's eyes flicked away, "what's wrong...? Where are the others?" "The short version is, Devari is dead, but he attacked Bodoku with the darkness that you possess, we were hoping you could try to take it out. We are aware you can not control it but if you could just try-" "I'll do what I can", he said, "lead the way". Yuki looked to Ryku and Skarra, "we shall follow at Tonton's pace", Ryku mentioned. Yuki nodded then rushed off closely followed by Choji.

Yena heard a shout in the distance, she looked up and went to pursue it but- "what's your hurry?" She faced the voice, "Rex, you're alright. Have you seen my brother?" Rex eyed her, "so strange how much you changed, from being under Devari's command that is". Her eyes narrowed, "what do you mean?" "I'm just saying, Suyung picked on me quite a lot, especially with Torlan. The things you used to do, Yuki was the only decent one". She shook her head, "look I'm sorry, I really am. Devari manipulated my memories, my body, he made me a completely different person, Suyung is not who I am". Rex looked at her then sighed, "you're right..." he approached her holding his hand out, she went towards him and grabbed his hand. He pulled her in and stabbed her in the chest after making Bodoku's blade appear in his hand, she tensed as blood oozed from her mouth, "and for what it's worth, I forgive you". "Then.... why...?" She tried to mutter, she collapsed and Rex laid her on the ground, "I need Bodoku to come after me, so one of you had to die. You running into me was just bad luck sweetheart", he watched her until she stopped breathing, "sadly because you've already died, Zayla's tears won't save you..." he frowned then leant down and kissed her head, "I'm sorry too", he turned and walked away from her making Bodoku's sword vanish, leaving Yena's body behind.

Tanjiro frowned, the black goo had almost completely cover the stalks and was now entering his skin. "Jiro... let him go", Zayla decided. "What? No". "I don't want to lose you both... maybe because he has my fluid my powers will bring him back again?" She guessed. "That won't work", Seth mentioned, "his blood has been contaminated. Your powers won't work here..." Zayla looked at them both, "but... what will we do? What if-if Choji can't pull it out? Tanjiro will die too!" Tanjiro looked at her with a pained smile, "It's okay". "No it isn't!" She yelled. Tidus clenched his hands into fists, "she's right, we killed Devari and he still wins..." "He hasn't won yet", Seth butt in, "we're assuming that Choji won't do everything he can to save them both. Who knows maybe he has it in him to do it-" They glanced at Tanjiro with worry as he coughed taking short breaths, "I can still do this", he assured them. "For how long..." Seth muttered. Zayla felt more tears falling from her eyes, she walked to Tanjiro and held his shoulder, "stop! What are you doing? It could spread to you!" He warned her. She took a breath, "I want to help..." She replied, her tears began falling on his arm. The others watched with growing anticipation.
