chapter twenty three

noah de santis

once i'm done showering i put on my suit

i put my rings on and take the elevator down to the car

"you look handsome"my dad says i smile faintly and thank him

"we don't have to stay long, i just want to make sure my alliances are still intact, you'll dance with jordan and then we'll leave"my dad says i nod

ace de santis

i rub noah's head

"everything will be okay"i say "no it won't"noah mumbles

"i have one friend left and i'm dating him, when jordan and i breakup he'll go to muna and i'll be alone"noah says

"that won't happen, jordan is your best friend"i say "muna was my best friend"noah corrects

"we'd been friends for 16 years papa and she only liked when i was a girl"noah mumbles "i've been out for 6 years and all of that was fake"he says

"what do you want me to do?"i ask "i don't want you to do anything"noah says

"i am going to talk to embry tomorrow because what muna said wasn't okay on any level"i say noah nods

the car stops and our driver opens the car door

i get out of the car first and wait for noah to get out

noah sighs and gets out of the car i squeeze his shoulder 

"i'll keep converations short"i say noah nods

santiago cruz

"there's noah"jordan says i stop jordan "be careful with his words, muna said some pretty fucked up stuff"my dad says

jordan nods and goes over to ace and noah

ace comes over to me

"how's he doing?"i ask "he's fine"ace lies as he grabs my glass of bourbon

"he's not fine, he's wearing two binders right now"i say "i could barely get him to leave the house, i'll make sure he doesn't sleep in the binders"ace says

"muna was noah's best friend, jordan is the last person noah's age who actually talks to him and supports him. that breaks my heart as a father"ace mumbles as he motions more boubon from the bartender

noah sits on the front steps of the staircase

i sit by him and hand him a glass of vodka noah shakes his head and pushes the glass away

"i'm okay"noah mumbles quietly

"muna is not on my side, therefore she doesn't matter and what she says doesn't matter"noah says i grab his face and kiss him

i pull away and kiss noah's head

"muna's a bitch"i say noah nods i wipe the tears off his face

"do you wanna go get a baja blast?"i ask noah laughs and nods "yeah i really want a baja blast"he mumbles

i go over to my dad

"can noah and i leave, he wants a slushie"i say "yeah, i'll see you tomorrow"my dad says i nod

noah and i get into the car "where to?"my driver asks  "taco bell please"i say he nods

a few hours later

santiago and i get into my drivers car

i grab my laptop "the ukraine leader is dead i had them bombed"i say "did you make sure no kids were harmed?"santiago asks

"no kids were harmed except the leaders son who is 29"i say santiago nods

"ace you've been single for almost 11 years, you gotta go on a date or at least hookup with someone"santiago says "i don't want to date, i'm happy with my life"i say

i drop on the couch and drink my baja blast

"my dad doesn't know were dating"jordan says "he doesn't know that i'm gay either"he adds "okay, you can tell him when your ready"i say jordan kisses my head

"noah"jordan says softly as he rubs my cheek "what?"i ask "i'll always be here"he says i smile faintly as tears fill my eyes "no one ever stays"i say quietly

jordan cups my face "i'm not going anywhere, i want to be with you even if dating doesn't work out i want to keep being your friend"jordan says "i waited five years to tell you i liked you, i can wait longer"jordan says 

"i will always and forever be by your side because you are the most important people to me and that'll never change, nothing will ever change that becuase you noah wolfe de santis are so incredibly perfect for me that i can't help get butterfies in my stupid stomach when you look at me"jordan says i laugh and kiss him
