| Chapter Thirty - Nine — New Recruit |Joshua bites his lip, eyes straining as he stares at the Ipad in front of him, "I don't know," He says, vocal tone on the brink of a whine, "I still don't know what will look best with white. I can't decide. It's impossible."
His mother frowned, hands slipping from the waist of his tux. She was doing the last touch ups, making sure everything fit accordingly, "I thought you decided on silver, Honey."
"I did, but then Jeonghan started talking about wanting rose gold," He groaned, looking down at his mother with pouted lips, "We both want different things, so I can't pick."
"Have you spoken to him about this?"
"No," Joshua sighs, swiping through the device again, "It's just colors. It's nothing to make that big of a fuss over."
His mother gave him a look, "Hong Jisoo," She scolded, "Communication is key, son."
"I know, I know." Another whine slips up his throat, mixing in with a groan, "And don't call me by my full name, Momma. You know I hate that."
His mother merely laughed, "Fine, Fine—" She chuckled, spinning him around so his eyes meet the mirror, "Just look at how pretty you are."
Joshua groaned, "Please no." He hid his face with his hands.
"Oh, come on— You're stunning, Honey." She hugs her son from behind, trying her best to reach her chin over his shoulder.
Joshua sighed, "Thanks, Mom."
"Look at you," She grinned from ear to ear, "Look at all this," She said, jutting out a bottom lip as she moved to the side a bit, resting her head on her son's shoulder as she held him by her side, "I can't believe my baby is getting married."
Joshua smiled, swaying back and forth like a child who'd just admitted a crush.
"You chose a perfect one, Jisoo. I'm so proud of you." His mother told him.
Joshua rested his head on his mother's, grinning cheekily, "He's great, isn't he?"
"The best." His mother pinched his cheeks, both of them laughing at the way Joshua whines and tries to get away. He still acted the same way after all these years. His mother adored him so much.
"Alright," The woman said, "I'm gonna go see what's taking the suit fitter so long. I need help tightening your waistband."
Joshua shrugged, looking down at his clothing, fingers picking at it, "I can try—"
His mother slapped his hands away, "Don't you dare. You'll rip something. I won't pay 300,000 won just for you to pop a button." Joshua laughed at his mother's response, watching her walk away.
He glanced at himself in the mirror again, tilting his head to the side, and letting his eyes run freely up and down his body.
He really did look good. Of course, he wouldn't call this type of confidence narcissistic. Instead, he'll smile and compliment himself for now, because adoring others meant a lot, but loving yourself inside and out mattered just as much.
"The silver." A sudden voice breaks through Joshua's thoughts, causing his head to lift.
He meets an unfamiliar pair of eyes through the mirror, tilting his head in confusion. He turns around, brows raised, "Sorry?"
It's a man.
It's a man about the same height as Joshua, and a it's a face framed with a halo of brunette locks.
