Bianca's POV:

Wednesday
Fine.

You
Fine...?

Wednesday
Take the win, Bianca.

I put my phone down and then scream into my pillow. I think that might have been the most nerve-wracking conversation I've ever had, and I've tried to talk my narcissistic mother out of marrying a white man. But that's besides the point.

"She said yes?"

Divina, my roommate and the best person ever, convinced me to invite Wednesday to the dinner. I know it's because I've been speaking about Wednesday non-stop since I spoke to her earlier today but I try not to think of it.

"Yup! She's coming with us!"

Beat

"Not that I care or anything, I just thought she would've said no-"

"When are you going to tell Wednesday that you have feelings for her?"

Silence

What?

I don't have feelings for Wednesday. Well, if hate counted as a feeling, then sure, you could say that, but I don't even hate Wednesday anymore. I've come to terms that she is just the way she is for the sake of it, and she is not changing anytime soon. Sure, she's still annoying as fuck but I don't mind.

"I don't like Wednesday."

"Yes you do. She's all you've been speaking about since October, girl."

"She isn't all I've spoken about."

"Remember when Wednesday was on one of Enid's posts? You looked at that picture so much I'm surprised it hasn't imprinted on your eyeballs."

"You're being a tad bit dramatic, don't you think?"

"Am I?"

Honestly? I have been thinking about Wednesday a lot. But not in a weird way! I'm probably just... hung up on last semester. I mean, my school career was practically perfect before Hurricane Wednesday came storming her way through Nevermore and nearly had us all killed. Though she did save us in the end...

"I'm just not used to change. You know that."

"Yes, I do know that. But that does includes change that you actually enjoy, does it not?"

"Why are you acting all therapist with me, Vi?"

"Someone had to say something. Even Kent sees it, and that's a high bar."

He does?

"Just... think about it, okay?"

Beat

"Whatever."

'Think about it' my ass.

Wednesday and I are sparring. Why? I don't really know. All I know is that I'm not backing down and neither is she. Around half of the people in the hall are shouting my name, the other half shouting hers. I don't pay them any mind. I have to win. I just have to, I can feel it.

Our sabers clash together and neither of us are willing to move another muscle. If I move, I lose. If she moves, she loses. We're both comprised. I can't even here the crowd anymore. The only thing on my mind is this moment, and the fact that I can't let her win.

Wednesday lets go, but I find that I can't hit her. Why can't I hit her? If I don't hit her soon I'll-

"Why are we doing this?" She says.
