Xiao had somehow managed to stray away from my radar for the entirety of yesterday, and I was unable to speak with him or Albedo. I felt shitty. Really shitty for not being able to properly apologize—and I was swarmed by people who'd questioned me about the party later after archery as Gorou left me to fend for myself.

I didn't want to deal with this problem for another lengthy few chapters, so I had to end this issue sooner or later—and personally, I'd rather it be sooner than later. The guilt was eating me up inside, and I couldn't just let it sit there forever.

I was stuck in my head before a finger snapped in front of my face, and I blinked back into reality.

"Focus." Gorou whispered over to me before placing his attention back on the board. Stressed from thinking about what to do with Xiao and Albedo, it didn't help that I now had to worry about math.

I attempted to go on my phone to text either Xiao or Albedo—whichever one worked, but Heizou caught me and was about to blab about it to Gorou, who hadn't seemed to notice yet, but I slapped his mouth shut before he could.

"Mmph—?!" He nibbled my fingers to try to get me to release my grip from his face but his attempts ended in failure.

"Shh. I'm just trying to clear things up with Xiao and Albedo." I explained to him in a hushed voice, drawing in Gorou's attention, but he chose to ignore our gimmicks this time—looking rather annoyed.

Still I was weary about letting Heizou speak, but released my hand once I felt his tongue squirm around my palm.

"What'ada plan on doing with them? Albedo likes you and—" He began before I immediately shut him down again. Like before, he flicked his tongue around on my hand before I let go again and made him swore to lower his voice. "And," Heizou continued on his sentence in a quieter tone. "What about Xiao? Does he like you too, or is it just Albedo?" Heizou had grown strangely curious about this, and I wished he hadn't.

"It's just Albedo." I clarified, but I didn't sound completely confident when I'd spoke.

"You sure?" Heizou pried, leaning closer in as I ducked both our heads lower when our foreheads bumped together.

"I'm sure, Heizou. I'd know if someone liked me." I claimed, but it was clearly a lie that Heizou was fortunately dense enough not sense.

"Sooo..you've known from the start that Albedo liked you?" He probed, suddenly more interested in the topic. "And you've still continued being friends with him? Wow, you've got some guts, Venti." He grinned teasingly.

"It's just that.. I like being friends with Albedo. I don't want us to be anything other than friends." I told him, and Gorou nudged my shoulder to indicate the teacher was eyeing the room. Sitting up straight, Heizou quickly got the memo and did the same.

Heizou tapped my thigh, and when I looked down, I saw that he was pointing to my pocket where my phone was sticking out. Again, he pointed upwards, and this time, I looked at his face as he mouthed, Talk to them.

Not giving a clear response back to him, I did as he wanted me to do anyways since I'd already planned to do so before he'd gone and bothered me.

I wasn't expecting to get a reply anytime soon, so I pocketed it before I felt it vibrate.
