Trapped On Earth

Part 1

Nothing interesting has happened since we got to this world. Toshiro and I have been trapped here for... five weeks? Yeah, that's it. I bet a lot of people miss him. He's everyone's favorite protagonist. I'm just a side character in his story.. But that doesn't matter. We need to find a way out of here, as quickly as possible.
My magic is weakened here, just like his. Xen hasn't tried to get out since we got here. Come to think of it, I haven't heard his annoying voice in a very long time. He probably just stopped fighting it. Toshiro's kousaku has not tried to exit, either. I stopped sensing him a while ago. This dimension's gravity has really had an effect on us lately.
Toshiro and I are currently enrolled in a school, just a normal school. A lot of normal kids. The weirdest part, my mind reading can still work. I hear a lot of people thinking about us, and how we're new. We had to lie and say we are foreign exchange students from Japan, which is technically the truth. We live in Japan, just not this one.
Because we don't know anyone here, I got a job and now paying for an apartment for us so we can have some place to live. We are both 18,so getting a job wasn't that difficult.
"Hey Jessi, whatcha doin?" Toshiro said, walking up behind me and peering down at my open laptop.
"Nothing, just documenting our travels.." I replied, slowly closing the laptop. He smiled a bit. He was this normal looking guy, with a bit of muscle. He was a nice guy, for the time that I've known him.
"I need your help with something." He said, slowly losing his smile.
"What happened?"
"I was just walking down the street, heard police sirens and next thing I knew, a knife was lodged in my shoulder."
"... how the hell... you know what, sure. I'll help you. Seeing as how I'm the one keeping you alive in this dimension."
He removed his shirt, which was bloody on the back and I hadn't noticed. I placed my hand on his shoulder where the stab wound was, then proceeded to emit a calm green light from my palm. His wound started to heal up, then fully closed. I pulled my hand away and sighed.
"Go wash the blood off. It will start to smell in about an hour."
He walked off as I sighed. 'Why would anyone stab a student.. unless..' I thought to myself, smelling the blood on his shirt still. I have a very strong sense of smell, so it was really bugging me.
    After an hour, he came back into the room, in fully new clothes.
    "Hey so, is there like a secluded area that we can go to? I feel weakened."
He picked a glass up from the desk and threw it into the air. During that split second, my reflexes kicked in and a small bullet-like object flew out of my finger, hit the glass and disappeared. The glass shattered as it made contact with the object.
I blinked a couple times. He didn't seem shocked. Recently, my abilities have been acting up. I believe it's because of the odd energy surrounding the planet. That little bullet is very new to me, it's the first time that particular ability has appeared.
"Well, nice to see you still have those acid reflexes. No need to show off, Jessi." he chuckled a bit after he said that.
I couldn't help but smile. We're trapped in this world, but at least we're trapped together. I wonder if the others will try to contact us. Before we left, I gave the pillars a special button, they can use it to contact us through any dimension. It connects to a little chip in my arm which will create a hologram from my hand. It's very similar to facetime, but more high-tech and elaborate.
"It's too late to go anywhere, maybe after class tomorrow we can explore. My wings might still work."
I moved my shoulder blades apart, causing elaborate brown wings with small blood stains to slowly pop out. Then, I moved my shoulder blades together and the wings disappeared.
"Still operating. That's good." I looked over at Toshiro and sighed. "Y'know, I kinda miss Xen. He would do fun things when we flew. He made my life great. Now that I can't sense him anymore, I wonder if he'll come back."
He looked at me with a reassuring smile.
"He will, it might just be a while."
"Thanks for that." I smiled, then looked over at the clock.
"It's getting late, we should head to bed soon."
"Since when do you sleep? I thought you're nocturnal." He said, then also looked at the clock.
"I guess you're right. Well, see you tomorrow." He waved, then walked out of my room and into his and closed the door.
    I grabbed a small dustpan and brush and scooped up the glass shards that were still on the floor. I put the shards in the trash, then went back to my desk. I opened one of the drawers and pulled out my sketchbook. It had all of my memories from our universe. It was a little leather book with worn out writing on the cover. "Property of Amagi, Nora". I always wondered who that was, but I knew it was one of Toshiro's ancestors.
I hugged the book, then slid it back in the drawer. Then, I stood up and walked out of my room and went to the front door of the apartment. I locked it, then turned the security camera on. I could only afford an apartment in the bad side of town, so security was very tight.
    I then went back to my room and closed the door. I walked to the nightstand and flicked the lamp off. I then carefully took my pendant off and placed it on the nightstand. The room was dimly lit, but I could see everything. Xen and I share night vision, it's usually just there and doesn't go away.
    I laid down on the bed, kicked the blankets to the floor and closed my eyes. Normally, I don't sleep. Since we're not in our world anymore, this tired feeling overcomes my desire to stay awake. I don't have to worry about anyone breaking in and harming us like back home. Usually,I'd be on guard duty while the team slept, since I'm the most nocturnal out of all of us. But since most people can't cause spikes to break through the floor, or blast fire from their fingertips,I think we're safe.
