"He kissed you?" Ocean screeched. Her eyes were coated in anger, her fists clenched. "You will NOT get away with this!" She whispered through gritted teeth. "You'll regret it!" She hissed before stomping away. I gulped, turning to Daphne, hoping for reassurance. Instead, she wore the same look of horror I did.

"What now?" I whispered to Daphne. Daphne gulped.

"Now you hide in fear and run away" She whispered in a shaky voice. I took a deep breath, mustering all the courage I could.

"That's not how I do things" And with that, I stomped off. Jackson and Ocean were having a loud conversation in the kitchen while Quint and Wilson listened outside. Wilson brushed a strand of curly hair out of his eyes and put his finger to his lips, then ushered me to come. I leaned against the door, listening.

"You put them in danger!" Jackson voice boomed.

"So? What are you gonna do? This band is NOTHING without my parents budget, house, and instruments." Ocean screeched.

"You put everyone in danger! We'll find a way to work without the money, but we can't do that if everyone's dead!" Jackson stormed out the room, catching us spying. He sighed, running a hand through his dark hair before rushing out.

"Jackson!" I called, running after him. I raced outside to find it raining. My clothes instantly got soaked and I trudged down the sidewalk, looking for Jackson. My heart was racing but my eyes were blind. "Where could he be?" I wondered. I found muddy footprints leading through a garden. I traced them through a patch of trampled roses and crumbled daisies. Without warning, I slipped, falling hard on my back. I gasped, trying to stand back up. Again, I slipped, but this time I caught myself. I yelped as I felt my wrist burst into fiery pain.

"Ow!" I gasped, trying to stand back up. I felt something sharp under my knee and the familiar cool trickle of blood. I looked down to see what'd cut me. Hidden under the tulips was a knife. I jumped up, fear filling my sight as I ran blindly through the rain. I rammed into something and jumped back, scared and surprised.

"Millie?!" Jackson asked in disbelief. "Millie!" He wrapped me in a wet hug and, despite everything, I smiled.

"Jackson, I'm so glad I found you!" I cooed. Jackson grabbed my arm and pulled my out of the garden and to his car.

"Get in!" Jackson yelled over the rush of rain. I tried to protest but he shoved me inside. He jumped into the other side and drove off.

The rain made a wall around us, the noise too loud to hold much conversation. Instead, I texted everyone saying that we'd left early and that Jackson declared that the practice should end early.

A while later, we arrived at another huge house. (Although it wasn't nearly as big as Ocean's house) Jackson opened my door and led me inside.

"Welcome to my house" he mumbled, pulling off his soaking wet jacket.

"Jackson? Are you home?" Someone called out.

"Yeah mom!" Jackson pulled off his bag and threw it on to a huge couch.

"Jackson you're soaking... Who is this?" Jackson's mom turned to me with a smile. "Hi, I'm Jackson's mother but you can call me Trina"

"Um... Hi Trina, I'm Millie" I mumbled shyly.

"You're Millie? It's great to meet you I've heard-" Trina stopped when Jackson meaningfully cleared his throat. "Nothing, I've heard nothing" she laughed, holding up her hands in defeat. "I'm going to make some hot cocoa." with that, Trina left the room, leaving Jackson and I in awkward silence.

"Let's get you some dry clothes" Jackson recommended, guiding me up to a bedroom. "Skyler's clothes wouldn't fit so you can wear some of mine" he said, throwing me a pair of shorts and sweater. "Bathroom's right there" Jackson said, pointing to a door. I went inside and changed. I looked at myself I the mirror. My makeup was mostly washed off so I removed the rest and ran my hands through my hair.

After a few minutes, I came back out. I found Jackson laying on his back, staring at the ceiling. I sat awkwardly on the edge of the bed. My heart skipped a beat as I felt two arms wrap around my waist and pull me down. I blushed but leaned back into him. I could have stayed there in his arms forever.

I closed my eyes and sighed, simply enjoying every part of him being there; his warmth, his scent, the way his hands felt so right around my waist, the feeling of his heart beating wildly in his chest, the rise and fall of his chest. All of it.

"Now... Why were you eavesdropping?" Jackson pressed, bringing me back to be present. Jackson had sat up and removed his arms from around me.

"Why'd you run off?" I pried. Jackson sighed, laying back down. "Can I ask you a different sort of question?" I pondered. Jackson paused.

"You can ask but I won't promise that I'll answer." Jackson answered. I nodded, thinking of how I wanted to phrase my question.

"Why'd you do that? Put you arms around me?" I asked quietly.

"Because I wanted to." Jackson said. He blushed. "And- uh- because I wanted to stop all that awkward tension" Jackson shrugged, returning to his calm facade. I nodded, silently wishing that he'd do that more often.

"Who wants cocoa?" Trina quizzed as she barged in. Trina set the tray of cocoa at the foot of the bed, unfazed by us. "Oh! Could you get some napkins, Jackson?" Trina asked with a smile.

"Sure" Jackson grumbled. As soon as Jackson was gone, Trina turned to me.

"I'm so glad that Jackson has a new girlfriend! I never liked that Ocean girl" Trina giggled.

"Oh I'm not... We're not... He's not my boyfriend!" I stuttered.

"Why not? Jackson's told me a bit about you. He seems to really like you and I can tell that you like him too." Trina said with another grin.

"Well... He's still not my boyfriend" I muttered.

"Okay. Well, I just want to thank you. I know that he seems like a jerk sometimes but he's really sweet and he's been so happy since he's met you!" Trina cooed. She ducked out as Jackson came back in.

"Oh no, what'd she say?" Jackson asked. I chuckled as I picked up my hot cocoa. Jackson sat beside me and I placed my head on his shoulder. Jackson looked down at me and I looked back up at him. Slowly, I lifted my head up. Before I realized it, we were only an inch apart. "We keep doing this" Jackson whispered.

"We should talk about this" I mumbled.

"Or we could just kiss" He suggested.

"That works too" I whispered as I shut my eyes and leaned in.

And kiss we did.
