The note sat at a table, which had appeared in beside me, at some point during the night. I hadn't slept well, but I must have dozed off. Beyond the note, there was a plate of food and a glass of water.
After gorging myself on the food, I read the note over again. What was I going to do? What if all those names I thought of... What if they were all here? And then it hit me.
Jackson.
Jackson was here, no doubt about it. Maybe he was alive? Suddenly I stumbled, a memory flashing through my mind.
As I was searching for Bryan, I heard something, a heart monitor.
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
It was still going! He had to be alive!
That's it! I'm not leaving. I don't care if I can never hear again, I have to save Jackson!
And I wasn't going to leave until I did.
