Y/n swore she felt her blood freezing in her veins, as her whole body paralyzed when she saw him looking somewhere else in the room. She thought her eyes were deceiving her, but she had never seen as clear as she did that day. He was sitting at the edge of the bed, just the same way he did not even a week before.

Jungkook's black eyes finally laid on her, internally smiling when he was aware of the panic installed in those beautiful eyes of hers. He was sure that if he was silent enough, he'd be able to hear her furious heart beating against her chest.

She knew she was in trouble.

His thumb caressed his lip, playing with his lip ring under his digit, as he looked at her. The person that forced him to travel overseas, when he had no reason to. He was sure he killed people for way less, but there he was, looking at her up and down, only thinking about the different ways he could get rid of all of her clothes without giving her time to even blink.

—What a surprise to find you here, doll —he finally spoke.

Y/n swallowed thick, trying to remember in what exact moment everything turned upside down -or even better, why that day only seemed to work against her. Not only did her past seem to be following her around, but her present was about to turn into a big mess, and her future... She wasn't sure there would be a future at that point.

She tried to find an excuse fast, but Jungkook standing up and walking to her blurried her mind completely. For a second, she thought he was getting ready to hit her, but he only pulled her closer so he was able to close the door. Still distracted by the sound of the echo of the door closing, she was taken by surprise when he pulled her wig hard and suddenly, making her heart jump to her throat.

There was no excuse possible for her. If she had wanted to say she was only bringing drinks to the room, she would've been fucked. She had no drinks in her hands, so that wasn't a useful excuse for her.

Jungkook let the fake hair slip through his fingers, as her eyes examined her face carefully. Y/n was avoiding having any eye contact with him; and while that was quite a smart move for her, it was making him nervous.

His digits digged in the skin of her jaw and cheeks, forcing her to look up to him. Horror. Panic. Insecurity. That's all he was seeing. And that was everything she was feeling when her eyes made contact with his black eyes for the first time that night, and she saw the emptiness in them. He was showing nothing.

His pierced eyebrow raised when he realized how she kept her eyes on his, despite trying to avoid that for so long. As if she genuinely had nothing to hide all of a sudden.

—You aren't going to say anything? —he finally spoke.

—I needed the money —she answered slowly.

—You needed the money... —he scoffed— Twenty grand wasn't enough?

—I needed the money fast —her voice trembled as she replied to his question.

—Then you should've asked for it —he let go of her jaw.

She felt the need to move it, finally being able to enjoy the freedom of her skin, but she held back.

—I didn't know.

And there was a lie and a truth there. She struggled to know whether it was a good idea to call him for that or not, and considering they didn't speak a single word since he left the country, she ended up thinking it'd be a bad idea to bother him with his problems. And, at the same time, she went back to working in the club because it was what she knew.

For her it was easier to beg Pedro for a job, for a second time, rather than begging a stranger for money she wasn't sure she could ask for.

Jungkook scoffed again at her answer.
