Y/n moved her hands nervously over her belly, getting ready to face Jihu after everything that happened the previous day. She didn't have time to apologize to him after the position she put him in, only because she wanted to piss Jungkook off. And once she stepped inside the kitchen, she saw him. The consequences of her actions were all over his face, in the shape of small bruises on his cheeks and a broken lip, that was covered by a small band aid at one of the corners.

While she was still annoyed by the whole situation, she couldn't blame the tall man in front of her.

—I'm sorry —she whispered, after taking a seat at the small table, placed in one corner of the room.

She thought she'd be able to let her pride take control of her, but she wasn't that kind of person -at least not with people that didn't deserve it.

—It's okay —he shrugged.

—It's not —she moved her fingers nervously over the fork—. It's my fault they did that to you.

—I had a task, and I wasn't able to follow what I was ordered —the man answered.

—You partially did —her eyebrows knitted together—. That asshole punished you, when you did what you were told.

—It wasn't Jeon who did this —he cut her off—. And no, I didn't do what I was told. My only obligation is to keep you here, and make sure you're safe. It didn't matter what you said, you shouldn't have left the house without Jeon's knowledge.

Y/n chuckled, pissed at the situation, but even more pissed at the way Jungkook was being protected despite being the most miserable and creeping man she'd ever met -something that was difficult, considering the job she had before they both crossed paths.

—Shall we leave? —she questioned— I supposedly have a medical check, so I shouldn't be eating anything until I'm done.

—Whenever you're ready.

A tiny smile, and she was already following his steps towards one of the black cars that were parked in front of the garage, behind the tall wall that divided the garden with the narrow street.

There was a thick silence on their way to the hospital, but even if Jihu seemed to keep his distance from her, he still made sure she was comfortable and understood all the processes she'd have to go through. Although, her surprise was big when she saw him, waiting by the door she'd have to cross minutes later.

Y/n rolled her eyes, pissed off by him and how he probably didn't trust her to come to get those checks by herself. That control freak had to make sure everything was happening according to his plan. And she wasn't wrong. Jungkook made sure to clear his schedule for that morning, only to be able to make sure there'd be no tricks on her side.

No words were exchanged between them. She knew it'd end in a discussion that he'd win, and he knew she'd snap back at him with some annoying and bratty answer he didn't want to have to deal with.

Although she didn't understand anything, she saw the confusion on Jungkook's face when he was aware of all the wounds on Jihu's face. He examined his face, lifting one hand to be able to take a better look at all the injured spots. If she didn't trust the bodyguard's words earlier in the morning, she realized she did wrong by Jungkook's reaction.

After exchanging a few words with Jihu, he simply nodded and bowed before leaving in the same direction they came from.

—If I were him, I'd have told you to fuck off —she murmured, sitting at one of the free seats.

Jungkook looked at her, taken aback by that comment out of nowhere. He wasn't behind whatever happened to him. He got angry and he scolded him for what he did, but he'd have never thought of a physical punishment on that scale.
