The way home was in silence. She swore she wasn't able to hear not even his breathing after Jungkook chose to leave the party. He was serious, and his eyebrows were slightly arched low while he was lost in his own thoughts. His expression was similar to the one he had when he turned to look at her while speaking with Namjoon.

Her hand reached for his, although its weight dropped in the seat in between them when she gave up on it. While she wanted to get inside his head and find out what was wrong, she still thought she had no business in it.

As soon as they came back to the safe place, he told Yejun to guide Y/n inside while he made a quick call in the car. His sudden distant attitude towards her, and how he wasn't even glaring a look at her, made her think if she had done something wrong, if there was an expression or act that could've annoyed him or Namjoon. But it was clear she wasn't going to get to an answer by herself, because her memory blocked every possible mistake she could've made back in the party.

—Did you arrive well? —Namjoon asked through the speaker.

—Yeah —he sighed.

—I know it's hard for you, but you need to do it —Jungkook instantly threw his head back over the seat, breathing deeply.

—I know —he nodded—. It'll be done tonight.

When he told her he'd sacrifice everything he had in order to keep her safe, he didn't expect she'd be the thing he'd have to give up on. Jungkook was aware of the danger he put her in by letting her be so close to him, especially after all the moves they've done in the public eye, but he thought he'd be able to overcome it. Not only was she threatened to death by some person he didn't know about yet, he had no way of protecting her. What happened four nights back should've been the wake up call he needed, but his attachment to her was stronger. That was what Namjoon meant when he said she made him weak and vulnerable. Ever since he got his father's place seven years ago, no one had ever dared to set foot in his house -not even Sanhyuk-, but ever since she showed up everything turned upside down.

And he needed to change that.

Y/n turned to the door of their room as his boots cracked over the floor a few meters away from her. Her body instantly relaxed when she was aware of his presence, dropping a small smile while she looked down.

—I was ready to hit you —she joked.

—With a heel? —he pointed to the black stiletto she had in her hand.

That was exactly what he meant. Y/n didn't deserve to be in that constant state of alert because of him.

—Are you okay? —she asked, dropping her shoes to the floor before turning to him completely— You seem off since...

Jungkook advanced to her fast as she spoke, interrupting her mid-sentence with a kiss, so deep and meaningful that it made her forget all the worries that were going through her head. Suddenly, all that mattered was how soft and rough his lips felt on hers at the same time. The tints of possessiveness and caring through that kiss almost made her dizzy, forcing her to wrap her arms around his neck to keep herself from falling when she felt her knees weaker than usual.

He cupped her face like he was never meant to let her go, enjoying the taste of her spit with her lipstick every time he sucked on her lower lip. As if he wanted that taste to stay with him forever, along with the sensation.

No words were needed when her hands fell to his sides, digging under his blazer, while one of his hands reached for the zip on her back.

Her heart raced against her rib cage when the tip of his fingers traced her spine once her back was exposed, making her feel ready for whatever he wanted to do to her. He could tear her apart at that moment and she wouldn't even care.
