The Secrets in the Shadows

Chapter 2

Spottedwish'S P.O.V

I watched as Amberpaw and Ashpaw fought the cats from Shadeclan. I thought about how Lightningclaw was crying, feeling betrayed, and abandoned. I started to wonder if following Scarface and Leopardnose was a good idea. I walked into camp with Bluecloud, Blueheart, Runningwing, Ashpaw, and Amberpaw. I watched Amberpaw look around and realized she was looking for Lightningclaw.I walked over to the Warriors den and sat down waiting to be treated when Amberpaw yowled, "Jayfeather!!!!" I ran over to see what had happened to see Lightningclaw barely breathing. Jayfeather quickly came over and started I work on her wounds. As I watched Runningpool put cobwebs and other herbs to heal help my wounds. After Jayfeather finished putting cobwebs on Lightningclaw I helped carry her to the medicine cat den. "Thanks Spottedwish." Jayfeather said. I nodded and watched as the camp went to their dens and slept. I was surprised that Bramblestar hadn't called a meeting. I saw Squirrelflight beckon me over with her tail. I walked over to her as I was the only cat still awake. "While Lightningclaw is resting up and her wounds continue to heal I want you to train Amberpaw. She is basically ready to be a warrior so I give you permission to give her her warrior assessment." I nodded and asked, "Then during her ceremony who tells Bramblestar she is ready to be a warrior, if she passes?"

"Both you and Lightningclaw will. Lightningclaw started her training and almost finished it but you are finishing it."

I nodded and started to walk towards the Warriors den when she caught up with me and said, "Also check on Lightningclaw in the morning." I nodded and later in my cold nest. I started to fall asleep when the night patrol returned with Blueheart on the patrol. I growled and tried to fall asleep before Blueheart came over. I felt bad because Lightningclaw was still my friend even though she had betrayed me by being more friendly with the toms than with Blueheart and I. I felt betrayed until Sarface and Leopardnose came back and told us their plan of revenge.

I can't believe that they still trained in the Dark Forest. I started to fall asleep and when I opened my eyes to see half of the Dark Forest and half of Starclan. "Make your choice Spottedwish and Blueheart." A starry she-cat and starry tom said in unison. I looked out of the corner of my eye and saw Blueheart and Lightningclaw with us except it looked like Lightningclaw was watching us beside the two other cats. When they finished talking four Dark Forest cats appeared. Two of them were Scarface and Leopardnose. The other two were new cats from Shadowclan. "Join us Spottedwish I need you. Don't join it for the revenge but join it for me. Please." Scarface pleaded. I noticed that his face was even more scarred than it had been before. I looked over at Blueheart. She was looking horrified at me. I wanted Starclan but I didn't want to let down my friends. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath as I stepped on the Starclan border and turned to see Blueheart chose the Dark Forest. I was torn. She chose Leopardnose over us. Lightningclaw smiled at me and then licked my ear. I licked her shoulder and then I woke up panting and so did Blueheart but she also hissed. I quickly got up and went to check on Lightningclaw.

She was awake and she only smiled at me for awhile before falling back asleep. I couldn't imagine how much pain she was in. Her legs were covered in cobwebs and so was part of her flank. I went to see if Amberpaw was awake but she was already waiting with her fur on end. I came over to her and we started to walk out of camp with the evil cat behind us. As we walked it was quiet except the rustling of the leaves in the wind. As we neared the Sky Tree I asked, "Are you almost ready to be a warrior?"

"Yea." she said and continued the silence with a glare towards me.

"Are you alright?"

"Yes I'm fine to be with someone who could kill me on the spot if they wanted to." She snapped.

"Look Amberpaw, I only told those lies to you because Blueheart forced me to. Then it was fun to be on top for awhile then I had to hurt my three friends Runningwing, Lightningclaw, and Bluecloud..that was when I started regretting following the three of them."
