Chapter 1

Amberpaw's P.O.V

I walked beside Ashpaw when I woke up from my nap that Bramblestar had told me to get since Spottedwish said Lightningclaw made up the prophecy. She would no longer be my mentor. Spottedwish would be and Ashpaw's mentor would be Blueheart. I really trusted Lightningclaw but she lied to me. She was the start of the war and I think she's working with the Dark Forest or another group of evil cats. She got Scarface and Leopardnose exiled for defending their clan when she used them to her advantage. I'm going to kill her when I was stronger than she was. I promised. Lightningclaw was no where to be seen. Did she overhear what I said? Whatever, she was a fox-heart any way. I'm so glad Blueheart and Spottedwish told me to stay away from her. As I thought that she walked out of Bramblestar's den. She leaped down and came towards me.

"Lets go for a little walk Amberpaw. You too Ashpaw." Brackenstorm was behind her. We nodded in fear. Other than Lionblaze these two cats were the strongest in the clan along with Spottedwish. We walked up to the battle clearing and Brackenstorm and Lightningclaw sat down across from us.

Ashpaw and I continued to stand in fear they would attack.Ashpaw looked at me and seemed to say, 'We can trust them. I think the other two were just joking around.' He sat down acrossfrom hismentor. I looked over at Lightningclaw and she said, "Why are you afraid? You can trust us. You can trust me, Amberpaw."

I sat down slowly. The ground felt cold to my paws but it was the middle of green-leaf. The cats froze and I stood up quickly but was knocked down again. I tried moving but all I could do was blink and breathe. I looked past Lightningclaw and there was a cat behind her. It was ready to slit her throat open. I tried moving but I couldn't even get up this time but I could speak. I yowled,"Stop! Don't touch my mentor! She's my friend!"

The unknown cat vanished and I was on the battle clearing with Lightningclaw, Brackenstorm, Jayfeather, and Ashpaw around me.

"Are you alright Amberpaw? You collapsed to the ground and we couldn't wake you up. You made us worried."

"I'm fine now Ashpaw, thanks."

"So what exactly happened Lightningclaw said you yowled,'Stop don't touch my mentor! She's my friend!' Why did you yowl that?"

"Well after I sat down the ground felt really cold and everyone else froze. I couldn't move either all I could do was watch and as a shadowy cat came behind Lightningclaw and almost kill her. That's when I yowled." I explained.

"You had a vision. Sometimes they can get scrambled but most of the time they come true."

"Then what should we do if there are cats trying to kill us, again?" Lightningclaw said annoyed.

"I'll warn Bramblestar and see what he says. You all should come back to camp, just to be safe we don't know when or where this will happen."

I walked beside Lightningclaw like we had in beginning part when she started training me. We talked about how Blueheart and Spottedwish betrayed her friendship even with Brackenstorm and Ashpaw behind us.

As we entered camp, everyone was sitting sharing tongues. Spottedwish and Blueheart hissed at Lightningclaw like a warning to us to stay away. Before Lightningclaw could hiss back, I growled and hissed back at them. She nodded in approval and we sat down by the apprentice den with Ashpaw, Brackenstorm and later Raintail and Redclaw.

"So you trust me Amberpaw?"

"Yup. I can't believe I thought about hurting you. I'm sorry."

"It's ok. Even as an apprentice I got into trouble a lot as an apprentice. Even as a kit I got into trouble."
