They all changed in separate parts of the main center of the mall-- Gabriel seemed not to of realized that Athena was in the specific area that he had just entered because right as he turned a corner, Athena had slipped on her shirt, her hair all messy.
His cheeks tinted bright red-- Athena didn't know why-- he hadn't seen anything. By the time he turned the corner, her shirt was already covering her bra; he'd only seen her stomach at most.
"Oh, shit-- I'm so sorry-- I didn't-- "
"You're good," Athena laughed, raking a hand through her hair, attempting to fix it. "You're also blushing."
"I'm not," he argued, walking over to her after she motioned to him.
"You are-- do you think they have bikes here? They should, right?"
He nodded, "They do, but-- uh--you've got something in your hair."
"Oh-- where?" Athena asked, attempting to rake her hands through her hair again to try and grab it, but Gabriel stopped her by placing his hands on hers.
"If you try to find it, you'll get it stuck-- just let me grab it."
Athena sighed, folding her arms, and watched Gabriel carefully as he lifted his hand to her hair, fishing out a leaf that would've probably gotten caught if she grabbed it herself.
He handed her the leaf, his fingers brushing against her palm, and she smiled, "Thanks."
"No problem," he said. At this point, Athena had expected him to move away from her-- they were particularly close, and if she leaned forward just a bit, their lips would-- no.
But-- to Athena's delight-- he didn't move. Instead, his eyes darted from her eyes down to her lips, back up to her eyes. He leaned forward an inch before backing away two. He licked his lips and cleared his throat, looking down at their hands which were almost touching.
Athena's eyes followed his movements, watching him intently as he lifted a finger, brushing it against the back of her hand and then pulling it away, looking back at her, their brown eyes locking.
He shakily lifted his hand, swiping a piece of hair from Athena's face. Her breath hitched.
"Sorry," He whispered. "It was in the way."
"It's okay," she hummed in response, her voice not as stable as she would have wished. "Thank you."
"Can I-- "
"You guys!" Alex yelled.
Athena and Gabriel jumped, getting pulled out of that heart-pounding situation, and putting distance between themselves.
"Yeah?"
"We found bikes! Come on-- let's go!"
Athena rushed towards Alex, away from Gabriel and that flustering situation.
She wished she could've stayed-- to see what would have happened.
Athena harshly grabbed one of the bikes, pushing her feelings down-- they always got in the way, especially at times when she so desperately needed them to stay away.
Gabriel came up from behind her, stepping to the side to let her pass before grabbing a bike. The five of them walked towards the front doors when Alex suddenly stopped in front of a mannequin with a lightsaber.
"Guys! Guys!"
"What?"
"Look."
"What's up?"
