"So, how would you approach this problem?"
Another day of math class. Y/N was in accelerated math, but she had always found all the accelerated classes available to her easy and boring. She stifled a yawn.

On the other side of the room, a boy named Heizou squinted at the board, smirking. Despite his playful attitude and his terrible behavior records, he had been really smart. He spent a lot of his day in the library.

He hadn't failed to see how the h/c girl was in almost all of his classes, and he enjoyed seeing her glaring at him after he disrupted class. She thought he couldn't see the death stares and side glances she gave him, but he saw it all.

"Let's have Y/N try this time." Mr. Barbatos held the chalk out to her, watching as she approached the board.

Her dark circles under her eyes were apparent, but she still energetically walked up to the board. Taking the chalk, she silently mumbled to herself as she solved the problem, almost taking up the whole board. "Such simple problems shouldn't be used as review for an upcoming test, Mr. Barbatos. We all know you put harder material on the test than you do on the homework, so you might as well prepare us at least with problems of the same difficulty." She said, tossing the chalk back to the teal-haired teacher.

Heizou laughed. "The star of the class is such a show off. No surprise though, all she does is study. When was the last time you touched grass, firefly?"

Y/N felt her eye twitch. "I do not respond to such childish and irrelevant remarks."

"Enough, you two." Mr. Barbatos sighed. "How about you solve the next one, Heizou?"

The dark-haired boy looked at the next problem and smirked, working on the problem. "Seems like firefly was right, these problems are too easy."

The teacher could be seen frantically flipping through his textbook for harder problems. I wrote down the hardest problems in the textbook..

Y/N walked around in the halls, waiting for some kid to misbehave. As part of the student council, she was able to skip her last class, PE, in order to maintain discipline across the school.

Finishing up her homework, she heard a kid instantly run past her. "Stop that!" She yelled.
Not this kid... "Heizou, you can't run in the halls!"

Heizou stopped in place, turning around to grin at the student council member. "Why do you spend so much time implementing rules when you can be going outside and running around? You bore me, firefly."

"Quit calling me that!" She yelled. "You can't switch the subject! No running in the halls!"

The boy glanced around. "Nobody's here. I can't run into anyone if there's nobody to run into."

Before he could leave, Y/N grabbed him by the back of his collar. "Listen to me. You cannot be ignoring the rules in this school."

"I understand!" Heizou smiled, almost genuinely. "I just don't care."

She didn't let go of his collar. "I really hate you. I hate you, a lot."

"Love you too, firefly!" Heizou winked, before easily removing her hand off of him.

The h/c girl stood still as he ran away, seeming to be dumbstruck. Why hadn't he done that earlier? She could feel heat rushing to her face.

"I hate him! I really do!"

Ayaka gently smiled at the distressed Y/N. "Perhaps he has taken a liking to you?"

Hu Tao burst into laughter. "(nickname, n/n) hates his guts! This ship is never sailing!"

"I don't like this kid. Is he bothering you?" Xiao asked, taking another bite of his almond tofu.

Noelle seemed to be finishing homework up, before Noelle opened her mouth to speak. "I agree with Xiao. He seems to be the 'class clown.'"

"Things around you don't stay forever. Just wait for a little." Kazuha stated,

Y/N surrounded herself with her fellow student council members, Ayaka being president. It's not like anyone else understood her anyway.

The h/c girl packed up her things, swinging her backpack over her shoulder. "I might head to the library to get my mind off things." The library had been therapeutic for Y/N. Miss Lisa was always kind and was willing to listen, unlike most of the school.

"Have fun, n/n!" Hu Tao said.

She instantly felt at peace in the library. The smell of cecilia and paper clouded her senses, not that she minded. Y/N walked over to an empty seat in the library, pulling out her homework.

Her homework was getting easier by the day.
She could've sworn she felt someone watching her from a distance, but she dismissed it. She was used to the looks she got from others. She would've been bullied relentlessly if she wasn't apart of the student council.

"Firefly?"

Dang it.
