An elderly man once asked me, when I was on the verge of tears because of words I had heard and knew were true, if I was alright. I looked at him with a watery smile, tears poorly in my eyes, "Yes, I'm alright." He simply gave me a sad smile with a hand on my shoulder and said, " There is so much pain in your generation, it's such a shame, but just know it won't always be easy but things will get better." He smiled and walked away.
