Bucky made quick work of throwing it into the trash and came back to find Eloise laying just where he left her.
He slid his underwear back on, and took a long look at her from afar. Her hair, which had been in the perfect bun now looked a mess, poking out of its tied up state and ruffled from the friction against the sheets. The curve of her body where she laid in the dim light of the room made his eyes linger for far longer than they should have, enough time passed from when he started staring to where she turned around and shot him a look.
"What?" She raised her eyebrows in half concern, half scornfulness.
He paused for a moment, landing back to reality. "What's with the bed?" He managed to redirect. He walked from the door frame and gripped one of the wooden beams, giving it a slight shake.
"Well don't break it" She spat.
"Oh trust me, if what we just did wasn't enough to break it then my shaking it should be fine" He argued back. Bucky loosened the string that held up the lace covering of the canopy so that it fell down. "You sleep with them down, like this?" He moved the fabric to the side and peeked his head in."You look so stupid" Eloise giggled, playfully kicking the air in his direction. "Sometimes" She shrugged.
Bucky moved the lace aside and crawled back onto the bed, laying down next to her. "Makes me feel safe" She whispered. Her hand reached for his face, and Bucky watched her intensely as she ran her fingers along his jaw gently, almost like she was investigating something about him.
"Find anything you didn't see before?" He asked softly.
"Lots" She smiled mischievously at him.
He kept finding himself zoning out every time he locked his eyes on her. He couldn't put his finger on why. His hand moved up her thigh, up her hip, carefully stroking the side of her waist and then along the arm that was now tracing his collarbone.
"Where'd you learn to do that thing with your mouth?" she asked, and he could have sworn he saw a slight blush on her cheeks, even though it was dark.
He chuckled, moving his hand back up her arm and onto the side of her face. "I've never done it before" He admitted almost a bit shyly.
Eloise sat up, looking down on him with a questionable expression. His eyes traced over her naked body, not being able to stop the urge to touch her.
"Why did you do it?" She narrowed her eyes.
"I just...wanted to kiss you...everywhere" His eyes flickered with that look again, the one she had seen when she had begged him to go faster. His hand reached out to her face and carefully pulled it back down, pressing her lips against his own. The kiss was calm, so far from the rushed and frantic desire that had poured out between them just minutes earlier. He tasted like the wine they had been drinking, his soft tongue moved against hers with no haste.
Eloise slowly pulled away, finding his eyes still closed. She smiled to herself quickly. "It's five past midnight" She peeked over to the small clock on her nightstand.
"Should I go?" He whispered.
Eloise looked at him for a little while, her eyes tracing his shoulders, his chest, his tousled hair. He looked like he wasn't at all out of place in her bed.
"I live 10 minutes from the station. 12, if you're strolling more than walking with purpose" She shrugged.
Bucky laughed loudly. "Are you proposing something, Eloise?" He looked at her with that twinkle in his eye.
"I wasn't proposing anything. I was simply stating...a fact...a circumstance, if you will" She shrugged and pulled the covers over herself.
Bucky watched her wrap herself up, and then reach for the messy bun in her hair. She pulled out one pin and placed it between her lips, then another one, and another one. Bucky watched her, almost fascinated. He put out his hand, offering to hold the pins. Eloise looked at him suspiciously and mumbled "what?" between her pin-holding lips.
"Give'em here" He chuckled.
She leaned over and spit them out into his hand, before continuing to pull out more.
"How many of these can you fit back there?" He craned his neck around, looking at the hair that was coming undone. When she turned her head he saw the thick black waves falling, shiny and soft. Eloise ran her fingers through it, shaking it out. It was mane-like, framing her face and falling just past her collarbones. "You look stunning with your hair down.." He mumbled. "Not that y-y-ou don't look good with it up or anything, I just–" He mumbled softly.
"Making you nervous again?" She asked playfully and placed the last pin in his hand. Bucky's other hand went to her hair, tucking it behind her ear as his eyes searched her face, almost as if he was seeing it again for the first time.
"Find anything you didn't see before?" Eloise echoed his words, throwing her head back slightly to mock him.
"Lots" He chuckled softly.
