One Night In Brooklyn | Bucky Barnes 1940's

9.50 AM

"Alright. Take off in 10 minutes! board train everybody. Board train!" the steward yelled loudly as he walked up and down the platform, whistle blowing.

The station was filled with men who were accompanied by their families, parents, children, wives, girlfriends. All of them saying goodbye. All of them crying. Sending their loved ones back to a raging war. Some of them were boarding this train. But the majority of them seemed to be waiting for the next one.

Bucky and Steve sat comfortably in their seats. Both looking out the window.

"Peggy didn't come with you?" Bucky asked curiously.

"No, she has work. We said goodbye at her apartment" Steve's voice was filled with dread.

Bucky playfully pressed his fist against Steve's shoulder.

"You'll see her again soon" He smiled, trying to keep his own thoughts of Eloise at bay.

"yeah..." Steve looked down at his hands, trying to build up a small smile. "Did you end up walking her friend home?" He asked genuinely.

"Yeah. Yeah, I did actually" Bucky kept looking out at the station, almost as if he was expecting to see something. Or someone.

The tips of his fingers were  still sparking, obsessively itching. He knew if he closed his eyes he would be able to recall almost perfectly the way her lips felt as they brushed against his neck, how she tasted as she dripped into his mouth, the way her soft hair felt against the side of his face as he held her wrapped in his arms. But most of all, he couldn't stop replaying the moments in which she had listened with such concentration at each word he had spilled, every confession, any secret. How she had swallowed each whisper with not as much as a narrowing of the eyes in judgment, or a questioning tone.

"You gonna tell me what happened after that?" Steve chuckled, winking at his friend and interrupting his train of thought.

Bucky laughed. "I don't think I will" He smiled, fixing his gaze back at the window.
