Trying to escape

After about 30 minutes I went back downstairs to find my mother and Hayes' mother talking. Hayes was sitting down the table eating an apple. He seemed a little bit upset of what was going on. I was confused was it about what happened a while ago? "Is everything okay?" I asked. Both our parents looked at me as soon as I spoke. But, Hayes slowly looked up. "Everything is fine honey." My mom said to me as if everything was normal. "Hayes is just a little upset because we invited Jordan over these three weeks we are staying here." Hayes mother said right after my mom finish speaking. "oh...Jordan?" Our mothers nodded. "Hayes' ex?" I asked kind of confused. "Yup... I didn't know till he told me today but, now we can't do anything about it their on there way." my mom said. I looked and turn where Hayes was. He seemed pretty upset about it. He shook his head and walked outside were Ben was preparing the food. "Oh" was all I got to manage to say at that point. I couldn't believe the girl that I could possibly not like since the first day I started school in California would come over and stay at my house. All these things started going on in my head I just wanted to run away and hide from her.Shes the enemy I had since I had a crush on Hayes. "Is everything wrong with her coming Stephanie?" my mom said looking at me in a odd way. "uhm... Yeah everything is great... I just... I'll be back." I walked right to my room an started texting Shawn about it.

Sh:I'm sorry but I'll be here in like a week or two but I promise we will hang like we did as kids

I get off of my bed and look out the window there I see a black jeep parked and coming out of the car was Jordan. Ugh they did come... I was really wanting for them not to come. I backed away from the window slowly. Now what?
Hayes POV:
I was outside with Ben just having a guy chat everything was going great till I saw a car. a familiar car. A black jeep. Right away I knew who it was. And when the person steeped off the car my mood change. Jordan came out with her pink luggage and then her mom and then her father came out. Lastly her pure tea cup Yorki named butterball the most spoiled dog on earth. Right when Jordan saw me she smirked and waved. I forced a smiled and waved back. "Welcome guys go inside food is almost ready! Jordan Stephanie is at her room if you need her!" Ben said.They all waved back and said thanks. Ben looked at me and I guess he notice my mood change. "What? Anything about you and that girl Jordan? Do you like her? You trying to get her? Speak up boy." Ben said. "Nah...I wouldn't want to try to get her...Wish I would have known how she really was in the past. So I wouldn't make a stupid mistake." Ben looked at me surprised and cleared his throat. "Here let me tell you something..."

Stephanie POV
I went downstairs because my mother called me. "Hey take this outside to Ben please" She handed me a jug of lemonade and smaller glass cups. "Yeah" I said walking trying to avoid Jordan who was standing there just looking at me with her dog right on her hand. "Stephanie your forgot something...please greet your guest." My mom said with a small attitude. I slowly turn around and looked at Jordan who stared right at my eyes. "Hi" I walked right when the words came out of my mouth I didn't want anything to do with Jordan or her family i still don't get why their here in the first place. When I was walking toward Ben and Hayes Ben said "Here let me tell you something...the world isn't perfect... We aren't born perfect.No one is. But that's why we have mistakes so we can learn from our mistakes and be perfect by the time we pass. And if you don't believe that you should trust me. Stephanie's mother and I both made a mistake by marring the Wrong person." Right when Ben finish saying that my heart drop. Never in my life did I want to hear someone saying that my mother and father getting married was a mistake. A glass cup accidentally fell. Hayes and Ben turn around my way really quick. My mouth was still open and I was frozen.Ben found out that I heard what he said. I put the lemonade and other cups down on the table next to me. "Do you need help?"Hayes asked. I quickly nodded. "I'll get the broom." I said and quickly went inside. Apparently everyone inside heard the glass shatter. "Ill clean it up." my mom said holding the broom. Everyone went out. I went to my room and laid on my bed. I don't know why those words stung me so much. Honestly I don't think my dad is a bad guy I mean he did started taking therapy. Which shows that he cared. I stayed in bed till I heard a knock on the door. I got up and open it. Jordan was right there when it open. "hey your mom said to come out like right now because your missing out." "Ill be out there in a while." Jordan raised her eyebrows and walked away. I waited another fifteen minutes before I went out. I looked at my window and started seeing the stars come out. Shawn still hasn't come so I started to assume he wasn't going to come. I walked out and sat next to Hayes and Jake. I stayed quite most of the time. Everyone was looking like they were having fun but with Jordan around I didn't see the point everything was going to be awkward. After about 25 minuted being out a car came by. When I saw who it was I quickly got out my seat. I walked up to Shawn as he greeters me with Hug. "You actually came." I smiled as we both walked toward everyone else. "I kind of had to I know you would be upset." "That's the only reason why you came?" "I had to see you too Stephanie" we both laughed. "Hi mrs.Hanly." Shawn said as he shook my mothers hand. "Hi Shawn it's nice to see you again." Shawn greeted everyone else. We stayed there for like three minutes before we both got bored. We both walked toward my room I open the window door and we both got out to the roof and sat. From where we were sitting we could see everyone. "So do you really have to go tomorrow?" I said looking at Shawn. "Yeah I mean I bought the ticket" I shook my head and looked at the night sky. "I wouldn't want to stay with them either." Shawn said. I turn around and looked at him."What do you mean?" "There just... I don't know... There not like us...there all quite and stuff. I don't know how your going to do it over there in Cali."
" Shawn what are you trying to say?" " I don't even know..." It was quite for a while. I didn't know how to respond. "I...I just don't want them to change you...or I just don't want them to lose the friendship we have. I feel like one day their going to change you and our friendship
Won't be worth anything to you..." "Shawn...I... Who told... Shawn I would never let anything like that happen." I grabbed his hand and he looked at me. "Shawn I don't plan on changing anything between us and if I was it would only be better things nothing bad." I smiled looking at Shawn. "You mean so much to me you don't even know...I mean... If it wasn't for you I don't know what I would be doing... I don't even know if I would be here. You mean a lot to me I wouldn't let anything bad ruin our relationship." I said still holding his hand but, now a little tighter. "I promise the same thing Stephanie." We smiled at each other. Slowly we got closer and next thing I know my lips are touching his. I didn't mind them being there but I did feel like someone watching. When we separated we smiled at each other until I looked down.There I saw Hayes, he was staring right at us. "Well I should get going I have an early flight tomorrow" Shawn said as he was getting back inside my room. I followed him and walked with outside. "Bye Shawn have a safe flight." I said as I hugged him. "Bye Stephanie text me when you have the chance." Shawn said as he got on the car. I smiled and backed away. "I will" I said. Shawn then left. I then slowly turn around. Hayes glanced at me and looked away. I was going to sit beside him and Jake but I decided not to. I laid on my bed and got on my phone. I was scrolling through my Instagram until three people tried to follow me. It was Will Grier. I heard of him before. I clicked On His page and scrolled through his pictures and found one of him and two other people. I clicked on it and saw Hayes and a other guy name Nash I read the caption. "Going to miss these two. love you both best brothers can ask for." My mouth opened. Hayes was related to Will Grier the football player who played for the Florida Gators. I shrugged it off it isn't going to effect me. I like Hayes ever since I got to L.A. I let Will follow me and went on Nash's Instagram he had lots of followers. I scrolled through his page and Apparently he's a viner but I never been a fan of vine. I've always liked being on YouTube. I was looking through the comments and all these girls were talking about how they love him and he's eyes. Just curious I went on Hayes because I never really went through his Instagram. when I got to his page he had lots of followers also. I looked through the comments and girls keep commenting "😻" I'm going to be honest Hayes never post any pictures and maybe that's why I didn't see this. I then got a Dm I opened it and it was from Hayes. It was a picture of Jordan. The caption said "come outside 😬" I got up and went toward my window. To see Hayes on his phone. He then looked up at my window and waved. I waved back at him. I started to walk down the stairs and saw Jordan come up the stairs. I tried to avoid here until she kind of pushed me and said "Hey I know Hayes and I are broken up but doesn't mean he's yours." She rolled her eyes and went to her room which is right next to mine. I sighed and walked toward Hayes. "Hey you finally got out of your cage." Hayes said when I sat next to him. I smiled "You mean my room?" I said. "Whatever I just wanted to let you know we have more people coming over tomorrow." Hayes said. "Oh...um..." I looked around and whispered. "It better not be Jordan's friends." "Well then I bet your three weeks of winter break will be hell." Hayes said. "Oh...gosh no" I covered my face. Hayes started to laugh. "I'm just messing with you." I looked back at Hayes. "It's my two older brothers you'll meet." I started to laugh and I friendly punched Hayes. "I hate you!" We both started to laugh. "Hey Stephanie will you start turning the fire in the chimney so it will be warm while we drink coffee after a while." my mom said. "Yeah." I got up and started to walk inside "Ill help you." Hayes said following me. We entered the house and I started to put logs in the chimney. "So...uh...you and that guy...umm-" Hayes said as I started to turn on the fire. "Oh you mean Shawn?" I said getting up. Why the hell did I not think he would bring it up?Hayes nodded "You two have a thing?" Hayes asked. "Oh no... Shawn and I... We wouldn't I mean he and I we go.... We go way back." I smiled at the fire as I finished the sentence. "He's like an older brother to me..." I looked back at Hayes. "Oh so would date him?"Hayes said.His blue eyes looked straight at my hazel ones. "I mean... Things would be different but... I don't think I would date him just because I see him as a brother" I said. Hayes was going to say something but he got cut off. "Or maybe it's because you like Hayes." I looked back up to see Jordan behind Hayes with her arms crossed. "Jordan don't you have anything better to do?" Hayes said standing up from the couch he was sitting on. Jordan shrugged. "I would have a lot of better things to do if you never broke up with me." Jordan said raising one eyebrow up.A smirk grew on her face. I felt mix emotions through my blood. "I'm...um-" "Jordan can we all just get along these three weeks I mean come on we are on break we left to keep all the drama out" Hayes cut me off. My mouth shut but Jordan's opened. "Ok well I'll just leave I'm going to...Start the coffee." I got up and left to the kitchen.
Hayes POV:
Stephanie left. I sighed. "I don't get why you have to be acting like this?" Jordan said coming up to me with her arms crossed. "Like what?" I said. "Your acting like you...you like her! She's not even worth it I mean I think she's just using you for Nash or Will." "She wouldn't do that Jordan I don't know why your acting like that if I like her it's not your business anyways I'm not with you." I said looking at the fire place. "Maybe it is.I mean I know you want me not her... there's no need to try and get me jealous" Jordan said she sat on my lap and put her arms around my neck. I sighed and gently tried to push her off. "Jordan ples-" Jordan cut me off by kissing me passionately. I didn't kiss her so I gently pushed her till she fell down on the ground. "Hayes why would you do that to me!? Is it because of Stephanie I will get her out our lives!" Jordan shouted.
Stephanie POV:
I heard that Jordan and I just got so mad. I came out of the kitchen "Ok Jordan I'm sorry that you hate me so much but I didn't do anything to make you hate me so much! I'm not going to let you stand here and insult me in my own property." I said as calmly as possible. Your right Stephanie I shouldn't insult you here in this piece of shit! I can't believe I'm staying here with you." Jordan said as she left the house. I sighed and started to walk toward the kitchen. "Stephanie I'm sorry for letting her insult you like that."Hayes said following me. "It's not your fault Hayes...I'm just... I don't know why she hates me so much I didn't do anything..." I said as I went to get milk for the coffee. "Stephanie..." Hayes said under his breath. I turned around and looked at his blue eyes. He seemed upset and I hated it. I shook my head and looked down. "I don't know... I thought Tennessee would bring me in better moods because ever since I moved to California everything has changed." I said. Hayes came up to me and hugged me. I didn't even try to move him away from me in fact I wanted him to hold me tighter. I pulled away from him. "I'm sorry Jordan been being a bi-" "No Hayes. It's not just Jordan...I mean. things have changed like even before I got there... My parents divorcing is the main reason why I moved." I took a deep breath. "Ill be here for you Stephanie believe it or not... You mean a lot to me." Hayes said. His blue eyes twinkled. I hate how he made me feel and all these times that's been going wrong with him makes me have mix emotions. Mostly ever since Shawn kissed me today too I felt like I was in a movie and had to chooses between one of the guys. But Hayes, Hayes made me feel a certain way I haven't felt. Hayes then slowly leaned in for a kiss but this time I didn't reject his kiss. This time I kissed him back. I didn't regret anything. "What the hell is going on here?!" We both turn around to find Ben in shock.
