Breaking the Ice

Hayes POV:
It was 5:30 pm and my mom and my stepdad took me to Stephanie's house. Stephanie's mother let me watch tv. "If your hungry, need to take a shower, use the restroom you don't need to ask. Make yourself at home." Stephanie's mother said smiling. "Thanks" I smiled back. I heard some foot steps coming down the stairs. I turn around to see Stephanie wearing shorts, a crop top a cardigan with it and white converse with her hair down. I looked at her with a smirk. She looked cute. But, then reality hit me and I remembered that I had a girlfriend and looked away.
STEPHANIE POV:
I saw his eyes looking up and down with a smirk and then looked away. I shake my head. And walk towards my mother. She was in her room doing her makeup. "Mom I'm going with Aaron." I said texting on the phone with him. "Okay Hayes has to go. Im going on a date with David." My mom said walking out of her room."Wait what? No he can't come." I said looking up from my phone. "Please Stephanie only for today. I left $45 in your room so, you can buy anything you want. I won't be home till tomorrow morning around six." She said walking outside. "My ride is here I'll see you tomorrow take care." She said as she got in the car and they drove off. I sighed and went inside. "Im going somewhere I'll be back around nine." I told Hayes not in a happy way. More like in a way that I didn't care. "Okay." Hayes said looking at the tv. I walked out the door.
Hayes POV:
Once I heard the door close I turn off the tv. Im going to follow her. After that I saw that she was heading toward the woods I quickly and quietly went and followed her. She walked up the hill and I followed and decided to sit next to a tree so Aaron and Stephanie can't see me.
Stephanie POV:
I got up the hill to see Aaron and a picnic blanket with a basket. "Aaron what is all this?" I smiled looking around. "I kinda wanted to have something like a thanksgiving dinner." he said. I looked at him and smiled. "Thank you so much Aaron it means a lot" I said as I hugged him. "We can eat and watch the sunset ." He said. We sat down and he started to take out the food. He made salad and brought sparkling water. "Let me guess your mom helped you make the food." I said as Aaron poured some sparkling water to my glass cup. "Nope I did it all by myself...Well she helped me toss the salad." He said as he handed me food and a drink. He made me giggle. We talk for awhile and then he brought up Hayes. "So, has Hayes come to your house yet?" "Yeah but, he stayed there...can I ask you something?" I said looking at my drink. "Yeah anything." Aaron said taking a sip to his drink. "Why do you hate Hayes?"
Hayes POV:
I heard Stephanie and listened closely."Well let me make it short...He basically cheated with my ex girlfriend when him and I were best friends..." He said. That was a lie now what should I do. I keep watching. Stephanie put her cup down. "Im so sorry... he cheated..." She said as she looked at Aaron and then to the sky. Aaron took out a small bottle out of his pocket and poured it to Stephanie's drink. I knew exactly what he was going to do. "Its ok... Cheers..." Aaron said.Stephanie got her cup and they clicked their cups together. I had to stop her before she would drink her sparkling water. I wouldn't want her to get hurt because I love and care about her.
Stephanie POV:
"Cheers." I said with a smile and right when I was about to take a sip to my drink I heard a famille voice. "Stop don't drink it!" I turn around to see Hayes. He ran up to Aaron and I. I stood up quickly. "Hayes what the fuck are you doing here? Didn't I tell you to stay at my house?" I said. "I know I should but, Aaron he's trying to hurt you." He said with a serious and concern look. "Hayes that's nonsense! You only came here to ruin everything!" Aaron said. I look at Aaron and next thing you know he swings at Hayes causing him to take a couple steps back."Oh my gosh Aaron! What are you doing?" I said standing in between Hayes and Aaron. "He ruin are picnic!" He yelled at me. "Aaron don't yell at me. Punching Hayes was not necessary. I thought you were better then this!" I said raising my voice at the last sentence. Aaron looked at Hayes with hate. All of a sudden Aaron goes back and hits Hayes again but, this time Hayes hits back. Now they are in the ground fighting each other. Aaron on top of Hayes about to hit him again. I go and try to stop him but, all he does is push me back. I fall and scraped my hand. My eyes started to water. I couldn't watch the guy I fell for get hurt. "Aaron stop! Please stop." I yelled at him as tears strolled down my face.
Hayes POV:
I heard Stephanie begging to Aaron to stop fighting. That got me mad and I pushed Aaron off. I couldn't bare to hear her cry silently. "Lets go." I said as I grabbed Stephanie's hand and quickly walked away towards her house.
Stephanie POV:
I made sure Hayes sat down on the couch of my living room and quickly went to the bathroom and got the first aid kit."Hayes I can't believe you followed me. Your ruin my day with Aaron." I said as I walked back to the living room. "Look I know what he's capable of and I knew he would try to hurt you" Hayes said. I sighed. "Says the one who cheated on his ex girlfriend." I said raising my eyebrows and crossing my arms across my chest. "Stephanie I never cheated on his ex girlfriend why would I do that?" Hayes said getting up. "Sit back down... I don't care if you did or didn't you still ruin my day with him and didn't even let me eat...Now if you don't mind Im buying us some pizza and going to watch a movie here In the living room... I'll be right back... I need to go pick a movie." I said as I left him sitting at the couch. I ordered pizza and went upstairs to get a couple movies and two blankets.
I went down and handed a blanket to Hayes. "What movie do you want to watch scary or comedy?" I asked going threw the movies. "Comedy?" Hayes said. I put a funny movie on and looked at Hayes. "Look at you bleeding on the side Of your lips...My mom is going to kill me when she sees you like this..." I said getting the first aid kit. "Here let me help you..." I said grabbing the rubbing alcohol and a cotten ball. "No I'm fine." Hayes said pushing back the items. "Stop being such a baby and let me help you." I said as I got closer.
Hayes POV:
I sighed. "Fine..." I said as she put it on my wound. "Ow that hurt" I said moving back. "Don't be such a wimp get closer." she said as I got closer. I looked at her hazel eyes. She looked beautiful. I grabbed her hand so she could stop she looked straight at me. She smiled "What?" " Did I ever tell you that you have beautiful eyes?" I said. I couldn't handle not flirting with her. I could see she cared for me and I know I cared for her. The door bell ringed. "Pizza is here." She said getting up from the couch.
Stephanie POV:
I got up and got the pizza. Hayes and I ate pizza when watching the movie. I didn't even pay attention to the movie all that I pictured was Hayes crystal blue eyes and his voice. "Do you like Aaron?" Hayes said out of no where. I turn around and looked at him. "No...Why do you ask that?" I said. "It seems like you do." Hayes said. "I don't...I like someone else... well atleast I think I do...But, I shouldn't" I said making myself blush. I look at Hayes and he smiles. "You look cute when you blush." Hayes said making me get closer to him. Those blue eyes looked straight at me. "Thanks I guess..." I said as I felt my checks getting warmer. Hayes smiled. He leaned for a kiss but, we both separate when he's phone started to ring. He takes it out and on the screen you see that Jordan was calling him. Thats when reality hit me across the face and I realized that he has a girlfriend and I'm falling for him. I quickly got up and went to the kitchen.
Hayes POV:
Stephanie left when she saw it was Jordan. Does she know I'm dating her? I haven't even told her yet. I sighed and answered the phone.
Hayes:Hello?
Jordan: Hayes how come you didn't answer my text messages?! I swear if your with that Stephanie girl something bad is going to happen!
Hayes: No don't worry Jordan I'm in my room and I was taking a nap...
Jordan: That early? Hayes what are you doing? Sneak out and see me!
Hayes:I'm like about to go to sleep I'm really tired I'll call you tomorrow. bye.
Jordan: No I love you? Or goodnight?
Hayes: night.
I rolled my eyes and hung up. Why am I even still with her. I feel like being with Stephanie. Jordan would never help me with my wound she would stand in front of me and go off on me for fighting Aaron. I stand up and head to the Kitchen. "Im sorry about... what was about to happen I'll make sure that wouldn't happen again..." Stephanie said. "It's okay... It was all me." I Said getting closer. How much I wish I actually kissed her lips. "Well I'm going to bed now... Night..." She said walking out the kitchen. I followed "where am I suppose to stay?" I asked."across from my room" I went upstairs with her. She showed me where I would stay. "Thanks for everything" I said. "No problem..." She said as she walked out of my room and into hers.
Stephanie POV:
I walked in my room. How much I would like to kiss those lips. But, stupid Jordan and her clumpy eyelashes had to call him. What am I even talking about? Jordan and him are together for a reason... I really needed to stop falling for Hayes and his crystal blue eyes. I closed the door. I open a door that lead to my balcony. I sit there and look at the stars. Im happy that we finally broke the silence and started talking. But, I needed to know what Hayes really feels about me. And if I actually feel something for him back. And to know if I should believe Aaron or not.
